Got one of these i pick the GT instead of the GTD because there not lot difference it like bmw 3 series SE and M Sport in my opinion the thing is with the golf mk7 the way the drive in a GTD is more power sporty interior but GT bluemotion 150 ps is enough power on the road these days it just has every just thing you need for 5 door family car pulls in every gear hanging sharp and direct well balanced with a good tyre brand eco to live with regards one negative thing about the car is auto start turn it off If you don't it a great way to start clog up the DPF on the car plus one little niggle the boot a little on the small side but I highly recommend anyone to buying one get the GT not the GTD as most are abused plus you save about £3000 most of the time when look for one

Nice review Barry. I drive an 18 plate 1.5 SE nav Golf and so far it’s been a great car. Everything you would ever need on a car and nice to drive. ATB - Simon

I've got the same car as a company car and I agree it's great
Fast when you need it to be yet will still give you the best part of 80mpg at a steady 70mph in sixth gear
I will swap mine in 12 months time as it will be 4 years old and I am almost certain that I will have another...just got to make sure I can live with the new dashboard on the 202@ model

8.00. The multi-function display, between the speedo and the rev counter says the boot is open.

I'd be defo guilty of being one of those drivers who use the full sport/normal/eco settings depending on their mood etc (At least in individual you can permanently knock off the start stop). I know its all a matter of taste but its interesting hearing your opinion as personally I love the sport mode in the Golf (mines GTD but same steering) and my old Leon FR. I find the heavier steering to feel very natural and engaging but not too heavy like the older hydraulic steerings of years ago. My Dad has an SRI Astra K and I love that car to drive and use..... ONLY that it has light steering which drives me mad when driving and the sport button in the astra makes the steering feel still light and throttle jerky. Unfortunately for me, when you like the heavier steering of sport modes, every other car feels light, flimsy and unengaging to drive. I even test drove a Focus ST Line and found that steering to be overly light yet the handling razor sharp. Double edged sword for me.

I always thought the Focus set the standard for hatchbacks, but the Golf is second to the focus

Looking at getting one of these. Any issues with them e.g. belt/chain going or anything else which can be costly?

Hello, I have exactly the same car and I am very satisfied. (One question: When exactly should the economy system be used? On the highway or in the city when there is traffic?) In how many thousand miles should the timing belt be changed? Thank you for your answer. .

11:55 the rpms? Or just feathering the pedal so it’s a smooth take off?

I'm not sure if it's the lens of the camera, but it looks like you are seated way too far from the wheel and will impede you to make emergency maneuvers when you need to.

Thanks for your concern but im good thanks, and believe me i can move pretty quick when i have to 😎 usually when i have to avoid people who sit too close to the steering wheel ruclips.net/video/anG2atZ7EHA/видео.html

@@BarrieCrampton just watched it. Wow, it's way back from 2018. Interesting points made there. I agree on being dangerous when too close to the wheel. Unfortunately my wife being just 4'11" has had some close encounters because of huge A-pillars. I learned to drive on a land rover so I'm always in pursuit of the optimal driving position in cars. Just the right balance in everything. Cheers and more power!
