It really is damaging for your health. I had to pretty starve myself to lose weight. The boredom is crazy and the down time is bad. They want you to drive 10, sleep 10 and repeat it. Local is better because you can at least see your family
You learned a lot in one year!!! I think you really gave it 100% and was screwed over by your company. I am 62 and lost 30-40 lbs because of my eating habits and kept it off. I would not eat that truck stop food!!!! I packed my own! You are a smart young man and life is full of experiences. You did trucking, find your next opportunity! I am sure you will be successful!!! Another thing, DOT is out to get us everyday. I racked up so many csa points just trying to provide for my family & it came from my fire extinguisher being low & a cut in my airline smh

I am going to Melton next month. My plan is for 2 years. Save 50k per year and after two years go back being a manager at a Waterhouse. 🙏🏽 I am hoping all goes well for me man. I am doing this so I can buy a house cash or an apartment.
The mental part is toughest for me. 10 ish hours a day spent saving the lives of dumbass drivers in cars. I wish they knew the chaos that would happen if we didn’t work around them all day every damn day.
What’s good bro, what are you gonna do in the meantime before you become an electrician? Do you have to go pre apprenticeship school or do you just find a company to hire you?

I do not know this dude just stumbled across his channel i been on the road over 30 years everything I agree except its a mind thing i got divorced stacked again got 5 bedroom 4 bath 2 story crib bike, cars and all get in it get out but i got stuck cause of female but get your bread and bounce hes 💯 and i got 30 years more experience than he does.
I’m about to be a bus operator for 1-2 years and save everything i can to start a business and that’s it It’s all about having a plan and doing what best for u. I could never see myself in a 18 wheeler but always respected it.
When I started driving (2016) I heard on the radio the life expectancy for truck drivers is 50 something, that’s crazy. I’ve been out the truck about 1.5 years and I miss things about it but homie is right it’s too unhealthy of a lifestyle and dangerous. It’s a great job if you like driving but if you care about your health use it as a stepping stone.
