I'm loving just a cushion patted on..so much faster. I adore ur tip to let makeup sit b4 blending w a brush💗💗💗 Love that damp beauty blender too for soft dewy skin
Love you Jen for coming out these types of videos 😘😘 Really excited to see whats up next. I tend to use a brush first then after 20 secs go over with a damp blender. Works perfect for me, giving medium to full coverage. And working with a beauty blender softens up the texture a bit. ❤❤
I also use both. The blender followed by the brush gives a more natural look and it’s a lot easier to clean the sponge. Btw the best cleaner is Dr. Bronner liquid Castile soap for both brushes and sponges.
+Jennifer Chiu Hi Jennifer, you are a beauty and you always have the greatest information. Do you do your left eyebrow like that on purpose!? I think it looks bomb!!!!
Brushes are much more convenient for me. They are way easier to keep clean. I also tend to use lesser amounts of product with brushes (with the beauty blender you don't need to be as careful as it will take off excess product). That might be the reason why foundation looks more cakey when it's applied with a brush.
I just thought about something 💡 💭 what if we applied the foundation with the brush for the full coverage effect and less product waste and then pat the face with a blender afterwards to get the excess cakey foundation off and therefore get the dewy look. I’m an amateur at makeup btw this is just an idea 😅
@@salma-pf5sj I do that lol. For some reason beauty blender itself makes me look cakey/patchy; therefore, I use a brush since it gives a smoother look. After using a brush I just pat it with a beauty blender to even it out
Thanks Jen I think I'll do the brush for foundation and I think I'll use the beauty blender for the contour. This really helped me learn since I'm a novice.
Yay! Finally I know the difference!! I am totally new to doing my own makeup and wasn't sure if I should get a brush or a blender. Do blenders differ in quality? What's your favorite blender?
Brush is better. It doesn’t absorb Foundation that much like the sponge. And also with brush you can do makeup very quickly and easily than sponge. And people who have textured, acne prone skin, brush will give you a smooth look and also you need less Foundation with brush. Also it’s easy to clean.
I really wanna love brushes because they are so much more convenient and soak up less product, but I find I hate how my foundation/BB cream looks with a brush. I use the RT complexion brush and I buff small amounts into my face, but it goes on streaky, then once blended, looks 'makeup-y' and emphasises my large pores. The sponge requires more product, but it creates a nice airbrushed effect that minimises the size of my pores. If anyone has any tips to make me love my brush, I'd greatly appreciate it!
@@lil_baby_nothing ask any large cosmetic store; they will know exactly what you need, you wont see your pores at all. I make my own clear base coat, 3 tbsp water, 2 drops glycerin, 6 drops hand sanitizer, shake well, put on via airbrush or by fingers, smooth over damp face, let dry, dust face with light tan matte powder; then put on matte liquid foundation, i use maybelline, u wont see any pores. your face MUST b completely grease free (NO moisturizer) before u put on the base coat. then dust some matte powder on the top of it. looks beautiful.
You are so cute and your video is clear and concise! Loved it! I like switching back and forth between brush and blender but in a time crunch the beautyblender is the way to go!
Using a brush can make your skin roll if it is dry as they microfoliate. l use a sponge now and it does use more product but l don't end up with big mess. (And l exfoliate all the damned time.)
Thank you I'm from the Philippines I love your videos its all informative and you are so inspiring thanks for motivating me and keep making more videos we love you 😘😘😘😍😍😍💕💕💕💖💖💖
Everyone says this to everyone that wears make up. 😂 people wear make up because they want to not because they need to. People wear it because they want to cover up blemishes not because they need to...no one needs make up. Make up is a luxury not an essential.
Lol, foundation is for every colour if your wearing white foundation that means your doing it wrong, go find your perfect shade girl cuz beauty comes in every colour. Remember makeup is for hiding the flaws not hiding who you are.
I know you weren’t asking me but I wanted to give you my answer from my experience if you are using concealer then a damp blender is amazing! And for foundation you can use it dry or wet it’s your choice but I find it blends better with a slightly damp blender xx
What's your fav?
BRUSH OR BLENDER?
Jennifer Chiu both
Blender because I find some brushes streaky
Jennifer Chiu brushes to me😊
Blender
I like to use both.
I usually use the brush for full coverage and then blend it out lightly with a sponge for a soft full coverage base!
I think the beauty blender soaks up more of the foundation so that's why your coverage is lighter...
That’s why you soak them and then squeeze out with a ton of water before using

Good to know. I’m more of a sheer coverage person, so guess I’m sticking to my blender. 😊

I don't even know why I'm watching this, I don't even wear makeup
But still entertaining
Lololol. It happens to the best of us.
I have a lot of makeup i received from my older cousins and i dont use them too, maybe sometimes if we are going at an ocassion
I think a combo of both work best
Beauty blender for contour. Brush for foundation and powder 😁
Both looks so alike.... Really confused.... But it seems that brush are easy to blend comparing to beauty blender.....
HIT IF YOU AGREE.... ";~}
Because she has perfect skin. Annoying.
Thanks Jen I think I'll do the brush for foundation and I think I'll use the beauty blender for the contour. This really helped me learn since I'm a novice.
She looks so much like Julia, Sams therapist from Netflix’s show Atypical. You can totally be her doppelgänger.
Ehhh.... not rly. Only thing they have in common is that they’re both asian. Doesn’t mean they look alike.
@@christylesinclair8313 no they look alike😭

Real techniques sponge is my favorite! It’s the closest to the beauty blender and 1/5 the price
@@Jenna_Phillips1122 Thanks so much!

Yess. I love the Maybelline Superstay. It's my favourite and is perfect for my skin type.

I used to really like beauty blenders until I saw girls cutting there’s open and finding bugs and mold inside of it. Yuck 😧😖
I actually went and bought the it brush right after I watch this video! And I love love love it! It's a bit pricey but worth it! Thanks!

u need a MATTE pre foundation spray to block pores from soaking up liquid foundation.
@@Lauren-vd4qe Oh interesting. I’ve only ever used sprays as a finishing touch to set. Any recommendations for pre-foundation sprays?

I wish the beauty blender wouldn't soak up so much product.
The blender is definitely for the contour😍
You make my Fridays happier :) you ready for 13 reasons why ????
I think the brush saves the product more :D

Certain foundations work better with a brush or sponge. Just try them both to see which one you like best.
