    I was one of the first visitors to the pool. At the time I was unemployed, and part of my routine was to read the paper. The LA Times had an article on a Friday morning on the place. After reading about it, I put the paper down and drove 30 minutes in a rush to MAK, and got the key. That afternoon me and a friend went out there and just chilled out. The pool was still relatively hidden from the dirt road, and unless you were looking for it, you'd go right by it. Either way, a very cool experience.

    • @SurrealAdventure

      Someone even tried to restore it, and was working to get it back up and running. At some point during the restoration, vandals showed up and burned it. If they do this again, hopefully it will be made of concrete, and on private property, and perhaps someplace even more remote, like a hot spring or something. Thanks for watching. They're have been multiple people in the comments sections saying that they destroyed it due to it being "litter/pollution disguised as art" a claim I also saw being made by some in regards to the dessert monoliths, I don't know if they were lying by claiming it was them or not, it does however fit the MO of people who have committed similar destructions, down to the anti-anything made by man, such people tend to just get angry and begin with the hertic labeling when anyone brings the notion of people being part of nature, that many animals build things, that all throughout history people have been creating, including dwellings, dams, etc that are made by othee animals, but that is another discussion, entirely, either way it is incredibly infuriating that it was destroyed.

      Thanks. I've been amazed what I've run into, young people, mostly unprepared, no sunscreen, no hat, a half full bottle of water in their hand, sun burnt, miles from safety. One of the worst places I've found is "The Bridge To Nowhere", which is a very popular SoCal hike, but isn't really a novice level hike. It's a moderate/better be prepared level hike that people have died on. One year, like a fool, I decided to hike it in the middle of summer, and it was ~103F. I brought extra water and was well prepared, and went with another person. It was brutal. When I arrived at the end, there was this young man suffering from severe dehydration and heatstroke, throwing up, confused and his friends were almost fighting him to keep him in a shady spot on the ground... They had sent someone back to the car to get help, but that was 2 hours away, and then a 30 minute car ride to cell service. I had brought 3 liters of water that day, and ran out on the way back. RUclips and videos often skip to the good parts and omit the 4 hour hike up the mountain. I love Death Valley, but ~4-6 people die every year there! People die at the Grand Canyon too, they fall in!

    A place where motorhomes go to die. It's tweekerville. They are all over the desert. This squatting is a massive problem for the non drugged people who live in the desert. It is a never ending battle to get them off the property. It's "Whack a Mole" in real life. Besides destroying and trashing the local environment it's the property owner who is stuck with cleaning this up after the tweekers move on.

    Why do people always vandalize and destroy everything, the dark side of humans.

    • @SurrealAdventure
      @SurrealAdventure  2 года назад

      Interestingly, the same thing doesn't happen in some other countries. Russia has plenty of soviet era ruins, entire towns abandoned without any graffiti, Japan is the same way. I don't know what it is about Americans that makes us so disrespectful.

      Although I do not know if the claims are valid there are several people claiming/regurgitating in comments sections related to this pool that they destroyed it, due to it being "trash and pollution disguised as art", sadly, I saw similar claims about the desert monoliths, which also ended up being destroyed. Some seemingly insane people (whom most likely created nothing worthy of note or attention) seem to encourage and participate in the destruction of rare and wonderful creations, using the hatred of all things man made as an excuse for being destructive (usually using man made tools to do so) as well often as an excuse to be miserable piece of shit in general. I suppose THOSE WHO CANNOT CREATE, who hold envy and resentment to those who can and do, tend to destroy instead, what total loosers.

    That is pretty cool if you are out there or passing for ? Not a trip I amLikely to take to go to a pool. I do enjoy off road and fast desert trails in a luxury style prerunnerwith long wheel travel and the modern position sensative shocks that are tunable and have shock oil resiviors seporate per shock .THE kINGS and some top brands with similar tech can turn your off road vehicle into a whoop taming permagrin creatingsmooth ride in safer controlnot spilling your drink . that is safe while doing this!! THERE ARE ALWAYS SURPRISES OFF ROADING AND THE FASTER YOU GO THE MORE BRUTAL THEY BECOME AND YOU SEE IT TOO LATE ! stopping fastenough or steering around them are not an option with off road surprises at a fast pace. YES the words OFF ROAD AINT CHEAP can land on you fast doing this. BE carefull of others that are out there like youi too. YOU THINK WHO WOULD BE THIS FAR OUT ? wELL YOU MAY NOT BE THE ONLYBRAVE ONE. wEATHER THEY HAVE A JEEP IN A GROUP SPOTTING EACH OTHER OFF A CUIRB. ANICE OFF ROAD GULF CART SIZE CCAPABLE OFF ROADER OR MOTORCYCLES ETC.. tHERE WERE SOME HIPPIE TYPE ?THAT WENT JUST CAMPING in GLAMMIS . THEY WERE CAUGHT PARKING IN THE NO GO HABITAT/PLANT SANCTUARY WITHOUT EVEN paying to camp. They are out there where you least suspect .Know where you go is safe and cllear!!!
    Be Safe skilled and build strong.THE Single weakest part wwill break ! just being in places conditions broken or stuck can be deadly!! Have fun keep getting dirty !

      I didn't see any MAGA anything anywhere, and I actually had to edit out a lot of racially insensitive things that were spray painted all over one side of that R.V. Which is why you don't see the side with the door. None of it was MAGA.
