Indeed! Almost everyone has shown a good and civil face in this video. Next step: how to teach public workers not to call the police, but to build secure spaces for them and their patrons when privacy is required, and only then.
      Congratulations to Sean!

Unfortunately, many people are not educated on the three types of public forums.
The Supreme Court established three different types of public forums in Perry Education Association v. Perry Local Educators' Association (1983): traditional, limited and nonpublic.
Libraries fall under the nonpublic forum doctrine they have the authority to limit people’s first amendment rights and can restrict filming inside public buildings, librarians have extra authority to restrict filming due to the Libraries Bill of Rights it give the Librarians the authority to remove anyone filming to protect the privacy of their patrons.
Here is an excert from the Library's Bill of Rights and what the ALA's position is on privacy.
"Privacy is essential to the exercise of free speech, free thought, and free association. Lack of privacy and confidentiality chills users' choices, thereby suppressing access to ideas. The possibility of surveillance, whether direct or through access to records of speech, research and exploration, undermines a democratic society. - Privacy: An Interpretation of the Library Bill of Rights
ALA’s core values and its commitment to upholding intellectual freedom and privacy rights guide the association’s work addressing personal privacy in the local, state, and federal legislative and policy arenas. ALA's work in this area is based upon its long standing efforts to protect and defend user privacy. Advancing the work of protecting library users' privacy and confidentiality relies upon grassroots advocacy by the library community to promote library values and principles regarding users' privacy rights."
Do not take my word on this, I encourage people to look up the information yourselves.
First read the restrictions in the different public forums and look up if filming can be restricted in non-public forums, then look up if libraries are public or nonpublic then look up what is a public space and see libraries and public buildings have limitations that can restrict certain activities, and after you read and educate yourself, you all will have a better understanding of the actual laws and see that they actually had every right to prohibit filming in accordance to the courts rulings.
Another thing to note is a limited public forum is a sub-category of the designated public forum, where the government opens a nonpublic forum but reserves access to it for only certain groups or categories of speech.
The nonpublic forum only becomes a limited public forum when the government decides to open up the nonpublic forum this means libraries can become limited public forums but are typically nonpublic forums, only when the government decides to open the forum up does it become a limited public forum.

Notice how she didn't say there were any actual threats. Just a couple of comments she didn't like and that she thought could be taken as AGGRESSIVE .

@@TheProph7 Hopefully, when they went back in again at the end, they explained the law and the constitution to the library employees, so they don't have to come back next time. Doing that requires less time and energy at the moment, and also reduces the chance of future incidents or employees being terrified of cameras (that are not their own). The work description for the police are quite good! They can be soo effective, if they just do their job, as it is intended to. The problem is not the police, but the hiring process. They allow people to get hired and to continue working as police even if these people show no interest in honoring their oath and their work description. You can't really blame the tyrants. They are crazy people and they will never learn, change or evolve. The focus should instead be on following up audits on the hiring level. LIA and other auditors does a fantastic job at great risk, with marginal results. If you guys start focusing on the hiring process and clean that up, the change may happen faster! Although, there is undeniable a certain entertainment value in watching crazy people fighting for their existence...

I don't mind Auditors and encourage people to exercise their Rights, but there is a problem then the person exercising their Rights impedes on other people's Right to privacy.
Libraries are places where a person can reasonably expect some privacy while they do research on whatever they are working on.
Now you may say but there is no expectation of privacy in public, but actually there is, if you look up what is a public space you'll see "A public space is a place that is open and accessible to the general public. Roads (including the pavement), public squares, parks, and beaches are typically considered public space. To a limited extent, government buildings which are open to the public, such as public libraries, are public spaces, although they tend to have restricted areas and greater limits upon use."
The greater limits upon use is referring to what is called the public forum doctrine.

People need to educate themselves on the three types of public forums.
The Supreme Court established three different types of public forums in Perry Education Association v. Perry Local Educators' Association (1983): traditional, limited and nonpublic.
Libraries fall under the non-public forum doctrine they have the authority to limit people’s first amendment rights and can restrict filming inside public buildings, librarians have extra authority to restrict filming due to the Libraries Bill of Rights it give the Librarians the authority to remove anyone filming to protect the privacy of their patrons.
Here is an excert from the Libraries Bill of Rights and what the ALA's position is on privacy.

He was lucky the police didn't know the Supreme Court established three different types of public forums in Perry Education Association v. Perry Local Educators' Association (1983): traditional, limited and nonpublic.
Libraries, Schools, Universities Courthouses, all fall under the nonpublic forum doctrine they have the authority to limit people’s first amendment rights and can restrict filming inside public buildings, librarians have extra authority to restrict filming due to the Libraries Bill of Rights it give the Librarians the authority to remove anyone filming to protect the privacy of their patrons.

They give you what you give them attitude wise for the most part. But the big difference is the sheriff's are not part of the policing for profit model like normal officers are. It shows you how policing for profit makes officers act like everyone is doing something wrong so then can arrest them. Every arrest officers make in the profit model helps them farther their career. Which makes the division between the officers and the people huge almost to the point of no return

Note the hand twisting and flexing of the arm muscles in his forearms. Something being said then really bothered him. Then, he interjected information about a sign on the door about no videos in the Library. Rules are very important to this man. Let us hope he sticks to the rule of law.

@@donneary7104 Yes, I noticed that also. Let's hope he understood what LIA was trying to convey about the rule of law in our country.

I wonder if I could post my living room policy “no police allowed” and then ask them to come enforce it.

Good one! actually it will be a great idea to start a private business and practice that policy to see what will they do or say about it. Private business has the right to refuse anyones service.@@fmartin2821
