@@8possibilities De nada! It’s been good! I currently have a bit more than 500 hours and trying to crawl towards 600 before the end of the year. It’s been really interesting to trust the process, trying not to speak, being okay with not understanding every single word but focusing on the big picture instead and to see my Spanish really improve, it’s amazing once you start to realize it working. Super thankful for this platform for sure!
@@bajanalpha4 Thank you for sharing! Everything you said is inspiring and a reminder for myself to continue on this journey! Congratulations to you on the hours you have put it in! You're awesome and doing amazing!
I appreciate the time you took to make this review. Its is helpful to know the steps you took and the process you created. I have a 340 day DuoLingo streak, but as an old guy I really need more listening practice. For now, staying with DuoLingo daily but adding Dreaming Spanish daily as well. BTW... you would be a very good teacher... your explanations are clear and understandable. . Buena suerte.
Thank you for your kind words! Congratulations on your Duolingo streak 👏🏽 Keep going and doing what works best for your learning style! Keep me posted on your Spanish journey! Buena suerte! 🙂
Thank you for your review. I also find Dreaming Spanish to be very effective. For real, with my favorite teachers on Dreaming Spanish, I forgot that I had never heard them speak English, but I still felt that "I knew them" so to speak. Anyway, Good Luck!!
Thanks for sharing your experience with comprehensible input and Dreaming Spanish. I'm closing in on week 2 of studying Spanish from scratch (studied a lot of French in high school and college). I'm curious as to how you watched your Peppa Pig. I've found out how to watch it in Spanish via a RUclips channel, but I've heard people say they put something on (whether it be a video like Peppa Pig or a podcast), but it sounds like some have it going in the background while doing other things so they are what I'm calling "passive listening". They aren't ignoring the media, but aren't fully focused like I've found I do with Dreaming Spanish. I've also found listening to ¡Cuéntame! podcast really validating my what comprehensible input work I've done in addition to other ways in trying to learn the language. Any tips for a "super beginner" as Pablo and crew label the starting place for absolute newbies?
Congratulations on completing 2 weeks of input🥳👏🏽 I watched Peppa Pig while actively listening. I tried to passively listen while washing the dishes or cooking since it's beginner level, although I found myself thinking of other things. I wasn't paying attention at all. When I started DS, I learned it was best for me to actively listen/watch. Recently (within the last week) have I started to listen to Peppa Pig in the background and I do hear/comprehend complete sentences. Yes, I believe Cuéntame is really great. I love that the episodes are short stories. Have you listened to the Duolingo podcast? The narrator will give translations of some words while the story is being told. As you continue on your journey, you'll start to find what works best for you and that's most important. Please keep me posted along your journey. Welcome to the DS community! :)
dreaming spanish is so underated. all these apps like duolingo and glossier are time wasters and gimicky. im learning arabic at the moment and i wish there was a "dreaming arabic" lool but its okay ive got a tutor from egypt and hes very good with the short stories we do. when i get back to spanish i will be using dreaming Spanish for sure
Right?! Dreaming (insert any language) would be amazing! I'm so happy I gave DS a try and committed to it. While learning Arabic are you using the same method in only focusing on input?
@@8possibilities ikr all languages need a dreaming Channel. Yep I’m using input only for Arabic. No speaking. I’ll speak if I wanna have a bit of fun or if I’m fully certain the sentence I’m saying is correct. I never force output it’s sometimes more damaging than good.
I watch each video once since there are so many. When I first started I was caught up on wanting to know what each word meant to fully grasp the story, but I stopped doing that since it wasn't recommended by Pablo. I had to release not knowing and trust the process!
Happy to see someone else enjoying the process! Super thankful for the platform Pablo has created. Suerte! Can't wait to see you at 1500 hours!
Gracias!! How has your journey been using Dreaming Spanish?
