We just arrived to our room after the wedding reception. The Bride and Groom are on their way to their honeymoon (Jamaica I think) but we are here. They may be on their way to a tropical paradise but I am happy to be here with my significant other. We will enjoy popcorn cooked on this wonderful fireplace, a movie, and later snuggling under the covers listening to the wonderful sounds of this marvelous storm.

I was camping in NE Georgia and had this video playing on my phone, when I was struck by lightning! ⚡️
Luckily, I was in my tent, but the lightning destroyed the tent poles, my tent (20” tear and from melting) and my iPhone 12 Pro was destroyed.
Spent two days in the hospital for observation with minor burns and a terrible headache. Close call. I was surrounded by trees in the forest. Ranger said it was probably the metal in the tent poles that caused it.
I’m not implying this specific video had anything to do with it obviously, just a strange experience and I could’ve literally died listening to this. Makes you reflect on life and all its good things.

I have used this video every night for a prolonged period of time to go to sleep. I have had insomnia for years, but when I lay my head down on the pillow, I clear my mind, relax my body, and listen to the video and I always quickly fall asleep. I would say in less than 5 minutes. To me, this video is perfect with the combo of the crackling fire, the wind and the thunder. I sleep so well!

It is brilliant but the only thing is the sharp crackling of the fire is distracting to me and I wish that part was turned down and less prominent. I like the fire but the loud cracks are a bit too loud to me.

I like to picture being lost in the wilderness in wild weather and chancing upon a small, abandoned log cabin in the woods, which has a bed, fireplace with firewood and some meagre rations. I imagine stoking up the fire and drying my aching, freezing limbs, safe enough to wait out the torrential weather outside. Bliss!

Your fears of encountering an angry rifle carrying owner, fresh from a kill, are abated by a calendar on the wall with the words "homecoming" and a big circle around a date. You recall making out the date between lightning flashes and took solace in knowing that it was months away.
As you sit back on the couch, boots off and a new pair of woolen socks over your now toasty feet. You smile and take a deep long sigh of contentment.

You slightly startle yourself as you realize you haven't heard anything but inhuman howls and the drums of leaves as the lay in battle with an uncaring sky for what seemed too long. And decide to disturb your rest at the thought of something warm to drink. Reaching into your bag, kept close by just in case. You find the familiar touch of your canteen and juuust the right little premade kit you were looking for.
Mere minutes later. Reclining on the couch, you cup your mug in your hand as you raise it to your lips. The warm scented tendrils slinking passed your lips as you take a nice warm sip. You feel the cold slowly retreating back, as the comes to a wrest in your lap. With Fett propped up on a small ottoman. Covered in blankets you say again softly... "How nice"

How cosy nice place
I'm making a play list of fire places. So far I think I like this one the best. Mainly because when I have all the lights off and I'm sitting back in my easy chair watching it and listening to it in the dark with my noise cancelling headphones on. It makes me feel almost as if I'm at my cabin sitting in front of my fire place there. Though when I'm at my cabin I'm just lucky when I get the storm to go with it. More than once at the cabin I've woken up to storms in the middle of the night and got up and made a fire so I could enjoy the experience of the storm and fireplace combination in the dark. It's very nice that I can turn this on and always have the storm to go with it any time I want. The fire light just doesn't flicker the walls as much as the real thing. Or the awesome lightning bolts that briefly light the cabin up. But other than that It's a wonderful simulation of the experience. I slept all night last night with this fire going. And it was a nice relaxing way to wake up to as well. Seeing it and hearing it.

I've spent many a night like this. Nothing but shelter, and a nice fire, and the sounds of the wind, and rain. Even now I find a certain sense of peace when I listen to that backdrop. Like no matter how the world may howl, its kept at bay, and you have all that you need. Having lost much, I can tell you that, that feeling; is priceless.

Last night, I put this on my 13 inch TV and put it on the bottom shelf of my book case in my bed room. I fell asleep with my headphones on ( my husband SNORES) Because it was playing on a screen and I had it on repeat, it never stopped . And when I woke up a few times it honestly looked like I had a fire going. It was PERFECT! My husband woke up and was afraid there was a fire. That was hilarious.

Been watching and listening to this for 3+ years or so and never get tired of it! My cat loves the sparks that fly upward. She sits watching it all until she can't resist the urge to bat at one and it is a touch-screen...so you know what happens then...love it all! Much thanks!

The nice warmth of the fire while temperature is about 40°, colder when the air jets through. The rhythmic crackling and popping of the fire is mesmerizing. Having to get under the tarp to avoid getting wet, along with the wind and thunder everything a perfect orchestra for a deep relaxing sleep.
Provided you are not aware that Sasqustch is about 20' into the dark waiting for everyone to go to sleep and the fire dies down so he can have you for dinner.
This really is music to my ears. I miss it so much its not even funny. I love to see lightning light up the sky and the roar of thunder behind it, the cold air and the sounds of the fire.

Right on all points. Just the perfect blend of rain, howling wind, thunder, and crackling fire. The crackling fire in the foreground, a barely perceptible patter of rain, and the light howling wind, interspersed with a deep rumble of thunder in the background.
I have this on while curled up with a book and a nice cuppa.
@@wk1810 It makes me think that I am in a log cabin during the fall/winter relying on firewood to stoke the heat and an oil lamp to light the cabin!! So I'll be cooking a pot of beans on my wood stove.
