every time i hear highland cathedral it gives me goosebumps!!!!! i might be from the United States of America but man oh man am i proud to be Scottish!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My first ever tattoo this was and remember it very very well I was three then and thirty now. Went with my now dearly departed grandparents papa and grandma and was so Excited I threw up in McDonald's just before we entered the stands hahahaha so it was a bag of chips on way home but wow I'll never ever forget the sights the sounds the sheer and utter magic of this one and when it was on TV after we taped it and I watched i t over and over my favs were defo massed pipes and drums and the marines next time I saw them at the tattoo was 1997 one of the best times ever sadly ten years later 2002 would be my final ever tattoo with my papa he got unwell the following year and passed away five years after that. I haven't been to one since and have only now just started to watch these again particular the ones I was at and listen to bag pipe and military band music along with all the nature wildlife the ships in the harbour this the tattoo and all the regiments etc was what we shared the most and I forever miss my papa Stanley walker eleven years gone this year. And with my children when they are born I'll share with them the gift that you gsve me. Still have all my soilder models and red arrows too will never let them go Rip papa I know up on high your watching this with me

Papa eleven years gone miss you terribly you taught me all about the regiments the massed bands the Scottish division pipes and drums royal marines this was the first ever tattoo we went to together I was three. Ever since then till 2002 it became a tradition and I always used to watch them in the TV with you and take my soldiers and my castle down to the living room and we would make our own tattoo you taughy me so much and we would always watch them on video when they came out and when they were on TV I think this one and 1993 94 and 97 were my all time favourite although I'll never forget is getting lost in 2002 soaking in the rain and we nearly missed the bus you maybe gone now but it took me so long to even watch or listen to another tattoo without you I'm only just starting to do so starting with this one a mixture of joy and sadness miss you and grandma every day much love and may the forces be with you xxxx. @@nathanjoerndt8804 my papa played drums for boys brigade I tried bag pipes but found them way way to hard and yes played the drums at schools and when I was a boy on my toy drums and Tupperware tubs so not a poeper one at that but my memories of my papa and anything tattoo based or military bands and pipes and drums will live with me forever
