A lot of people call Dharavi a slum in a derogatory manner. I agree it's a slum and not exactly the kind of place anyone would want to live in but it's different from the East Asian slums or the Western slums. Dharavi is a full on economic powerhouse and people don't give it enough credit for that. They look at it and be like "oh slums" when it's much more than that. Dharavi is not your typical slum with poor people and cheap drugs. There are a lot of businesses in Dharavi that would give a tough competition to brands like purplle and zivame had they the proper advertising and investment. Many don't move their business out on purpose because they'll have to then register it and pay the high Bombay rent and income tax. All I'm trying to say is that I know it's Asia's largest slum but it's also Asia's largest local economic community.

In terms of housing, Mumbai is the most expensive city in India. Certain areas of Mumbai get even more expensive, like Bandra, Juhu, Worli, with South Mumbai in general being more costly
Seeing this apartment in mumbai now i fell blessed living in a small town in a 4bhk ..which would be too expensive for us to even look at if we were in mumbai 😂
As An American, this really helps open my eyes at cost living in other parts of the world. I have always enjoyed learning and I did here too. When I looked at the rent price as a city girl I thought it was affordable because in most cities decent apartments are normally around $1k to $3k but our salaries are more, so it’s interesting to see a different price point and the apartments look so cozy.
Mumbai is not cramped, these people are living cramped up! Just take a tour to bandra pali hill/ worli/ parel/south Mumbai , you will find sky villas / terrace apartments/ duplex bungalows/ plush high rise apartments.....list goes on. Bottomline is what can you afford??!!
Loved seeing it!! Whenever I see super equipped decorated homes, I feel super depressed about my life but then there are other people who are admitting that after paying rent they don't have anything. It makes me patient and feels normal. Love from Pakistan

Soo happy to watch you guys do this in my city.. You girls rock. Surviving in this city to achieve your dreams isn't easy. More power to you all. Versova apartment was beautiful and classy. Has a mother's touch to it. The Andheri East place has a rustic feel to it. Sliding doors in a tiny apartment are usually very common space saving concept. Mirrors inside the wardrobe are due to Vastu (Indian feng shui).
Living in Mumbai is very expensive due to space crunch and property rates. As you move out to the suburbs or even further the prices drastically reduce.
Andheri East and West are actually one big area divided by the train line into east and west. It would have been fun if there was a video from SoBo or Virar, to show the diversity in rent and neighbourhoods.

Seeing this apartment in mumbai now i fell blessed living in a small town in a 4bhk ..which would be too expensive for us to even look at if we were in mumbai 😂
Seriously even 1bhks here cost 40 to 60k depending on the building and locality. And in some towns 1bhk can be as cheap as 5k or less
“Where the magic happens” 😆 Nobody can resist saying this about their bedroom!
She meant sleep. 😂😂
I love that these ladies are keeping it real with the living situation! Laughed so hard because I can relate to being too broke to decorate.
Hey...i live in Versova too....its been 2 years now I finally bought my own sea facing appartment😊😊😊
Congrats man!
For how much bro?
That bag with more plastic bags inside got me 😁 🙌 I have one too!
Awesome ! Iv’e been wanting to watch other people’s home tours besides LA and New York. Subscribed
Can we just take a moment to appreciate that gorgeous versova beach view??? I am extremely jealous! It’s absolutely stunning.
apartments around the world: shows three different apartments in andheri
It’s a series . So this video is about Mumbai and there are other videos like new york, london etc
Read the title again this is the Mumbai edition there are others 🙄
@@Srishti_Kaur but mumbai is not about Andheri..it's like 1%
As An American, this really helps open my eyes at cost living in other parts of the world. I have always enjoyed learning and I did here too. When I looked at the rent price as a city girl I thought it was affordable because in most cities decent apartments are normally around $1k to $3k but our salaries are more, so it’s interesting to see a different price point and the apartments look so cozy.
The prices seem affordable to you because the dollar is priced higher rn.
Omg y'all should do Bangalore, Mumbai is such a cramped city it makes me sad :(
Mumbai is overrated and overcrowded
@@tanio7639 indeed
I moved from Bangalore to Mumbai. I forget to breath sometimes 😂
@@tanio7639 That's true! Mumbai is overcrowded! But many people love that including me!
Please do it in Jakarta! That would be interesting to see the “huge” gap of the rent in here.
How could you compare mumbai and jarkata two different countries two different economies two different currencies
Loved seeing it!! Whenever I see super equipped decorated homes, I feel super depressed about my life but then there are other people who are admitting that after paying rent they don't have anything. It makes me patient and feels normal.
Love from Pakistan
I love how the shower is separated from the toilet, I never liked it in the same room 😭
Ahhhhh! Paroma your place is beautiful! So funny to realise I actually know the person in this video. It's good to see you smiling. Hope I can visit one day and that you make it to Tdad too!
Well Mumbai is expensive.... Versova flat is expensive because it's beach view so it's reasonable...
But these girls are doing well for them 👍
Please do a country in the Middle East or Africa!
The final apartment seemed quite luxurious to me! It was interesting to see the differences between these homes and my apartments. Having the sea view, like in the final apartment, is my absolute dream, but Paris has no sea and in Tokyo I’d rather not to for obvious reason 😔
Thanks for the great video and please show more homes from Asia and Africa! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
It is in fact luxurious, her rent is more than my what my father makes in a month....
I have 3 cousins. The elder one lives in Mumbai. He works in American Bank as for now. And have been staying in Juhu area for 3 years. The other two stays in Delhi together. One of them(female) works in a multinational corporation and gets around 3lakhs salary a month. They resides in Gandhinagar in their own apartment that they bought for 82 lakhs. I live in ASSAM and m jobless.
😂🤭😂
The rents paid
Is actually a month's salary for me,
You guys earn a lot
Bless you 🙏
This was thee best one so far on this series...so unique with different price points. Good job!!!
"I just want to make you famous!" *pouts*
Versova apartment is amazing! love the furniture
That was the most organized, obviously often used, spice cabinet I've ever seen.

@@jesin0005 no one's saying India ain't pretty mate.
Paroma's house was so well decorated.. As an architecture student who loves vernacular architecture and antique-looking designs ..I love how her family managed to make create a mid-ground in the interior decor
Please do a lot more of these with people in other parts of the world 🤩🤩

Hey blink! I find my kpop people everywhere nowadays.
Soo happy to watch you guys do this in my city.. You girls rock. Surviving in this city to achieve your dreams isn't easy. More power to you all.
Versova apartment was beautiful and classy. Has a mother's touch to it.
The Andheri East place has a rustic feel to it. Felt more like home ❤️
Most of the "RARE" things in the Andheri West apartment are actually most common.
90% of 1bhk apartments in Bombay by default have separate bathrooms n toilets.
Sliding doors in a tiny apartment are usually very common space saving concept.
Mirrors inside the wardrobe are due to Vastu (Indian feng shui).
Still living with your parents is a blessing money can’t buy...
300-400 usd is quite expensive comparing to what people make in the area.
🤷♀️mumbia is overrated like New York
Kavya Prakash yeah indeed
Living in Mumbai is very expensive due to space crunch and property rates. As you move out to the suburbs or even further the prices drastically reduce.
last house pay 90,000 a month which is like $1200 (US) or about 6 month of my salary.
What a beautiful sea view from every room! Must say those are the most organized cabinets on an Indian blog!
Seeing people saying cupboard is on a buzzfeed video is really refreshing! Love from Malaysia
Man, rent is Mumbai in ridiculous. Hyderabad and Bangalore are much more reasonable.
“As you can see when have not done a lot of decorating...because we are...bRoKe”
In the Philippines, rent for an unfurnished studio condo unit (around 25 sqm) is around 15,000 php
That's $308 for 269 square feet. That is tiny. I'd go crazy in quarantine.
@@recoil53 really? That's pretty large considering the price??
@@graskok2863 Small in total space. Per square foot it's roughly what you get for a medium sized city in the US.
recoil53 yeah, it’s so tiny for the price. I mean, everything in the Philippines is so expensive.
Andheri East and West are actually one big area divided by the train line into east and west. It would have been fun if there was a video from SoBo or Virar, to show the diversity in rent and neighbourhoods.
There are decently big and super big apartments in Mumbai. As a mumbaite what I love about the city- they make very efficient use of the space in the apartments. the video should have covered beyond western line. Mumbai is a huge city
I live in Hyderabad India here a 3 bedroom 3 bathroom is rs 12k
And seeing 1bhk costs 35k in Mumbai Iam just shocked
Are you serious ? Where in Hyderabad ? Sounds like I need to shift there 😁😁
35k for 1bhk is kindof minimum. It goes till 1 lac in good areas. No, I am not talking about luxury accommodation, just regular apartments.
I’m from Jabalpur and here the rent for 3bhk flats is as low as 5k.
@@liveenjoy6821 in Hyderabad, if you stay in Hitech City, Gachibowli where most of the IT Companies are nearby 1BHK is 10k, 2BHK is 18K and 3BHK. is 25K.
Still lot better than Mumbai to be honest.
@@abhishek8243 You are correct. I'm from Shillong and was in Mumbai till 2017 and it was awesome just too expensive. Did visit Hyderabad in 2018 and I don't think I'll survive there coz of the dry heat and I think public transport is not great too with auto drivers not using meter or is it because I'm a tourist no idea. However, regarding with expenses its really cheap with rents especially when I checked on rent/pg online considering its a metro city.
In Bangladesh you can rent a duplex Castle with large Backyard and Car garage in same amount of Rupee's in Big cities or metropolitan like Dhaka or Chittagong. 1tk-1.20rupees actually.
i really like how their bathrooms are. like their toilet is also the shower. makes so much sense to me. (unless you gotta have a bathtub for whatever reason) must make cleaning it so much easier. just spray it down real quick with some bleach. done.
Lavanya from South Delhi pays 10000000₹ per month...pls BuzzFeed include her apartment tour.
I literally live in a house that is of 3BHK and it has rent of RS.10,000 . IT'S JUST THAT OUR STATE IS DIFFERENT.
Maybe your fortunate enough to land a good job at some other part of the country.
Gosh!!! That’s expensive compare to the apartment standard...they are so old and looks oldfashion...but mumbai is expensive place to live so🤷🏻♂️ .... these ladies must have a good job or their parents support them well...Proud of them 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Love this! Thank you for introducing me to common living spaces and prices across Mumbai. More countries!
I appreciate how you show people of different budgets who have different tastes. I like that it feels real and the apartments all appear lived in, are not all fancy, expensive, or hyper-luxurious.
Please do more countries that are less talked about in the Media, such as Ghana, Senegal, Bolivia, Paraguay, etc. No offense but its quite easy to go online and find apartments in India or New York.
I just wanted to hug all three of those young ladies! They seemed soooo sweet!
Would've been interesting to see an apartment from Borivali/Kandivali etc and one from Townside
Versova apartment furniture is too good! Guess the huge book shelf has sliding doors too. Sliding doors with proper frames keep the dust away. Antique door with copper handles Wow! Had to rewind twice to check out the furniture again!
Mexico City PLEASEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!
YESS!
SIIII
I am amazed by the amount of greeneries Mumbai has. So beautiful !
😂😂😂😂 it's just around the house if you travel outside the buildings there's only big skyscrapers and infrastructures. Most building here have their own small gardens and plants around the buildings that's why it looked that way.
The bag of bags is a thing around the world. I have worked with Indian people, people from the Philippines, Ukrainian people, people from the USA; we all have that because is just useful 😂
That drying rack cabinet is genius
This comment may offend many from Mumbai
Actually Mumbai today has highest cost of living with mediocre payscale and low standards of living.
Add the population, hot weather, sweaty people on the train, poor quality public transport, traffic, noise, poverty, hawkers, water logged streets, dirt and filth, lack of space & permanent ongoing construction 🚧.
Those 3 apartments will take 4-8 generations or lifetime incomes to own from Mumbai payscale
New York has the same issues as well. Ig all the Cosmopolitan cities have the same issues.
agree
In NYC, there are apartments that have a layout where everything sits along one line. They're called railroad apartments.
woahh so refreshing seeing apartments outside my little NY bubble lol
These girls have amazing personalities. Super sweet!♥️
You should have done apartments in different parts of the city, and also different housing types.
"And reminders on my fridge that you are doing okay. ... Thank you ..."
Aw my heart is warmed up alright!
And they were roommates
I love Sonia's apartment; The way it blends in with the red and black kitchen, very striking with the black and tan used in the lounge. Very nice.
Visit Bogota or Medellin . If you need help let me know.
"This is my bedroom, where the magic happens..." Adorable!
Reminds me of a show I used to watch on discovery kids 15 years ago.
I live in a freaking 3000 sq ft 5bhk villa with 4 people in Hyderabad and we pay 35K combined !!! our Mumbai friends are like "your bathroom is the size of my room"
