    Absolutely fantastic film in all aspects, this one goes down as my all time favorite..! Since I was born in Bradford the local film scenes bring back lots of memories from that era.

      still there but its an asian wedding venue now, it was derelict for many years.. I met my first wife here in 1977..!!!@@SpeedTriple59

      try and get keith waterhouse books he wanted julie christie for the role and got her city lights is my favourite book but they are all good and if you can see his mate peter o'toole in jeffrey barnard is unwell that is in my opinion his best stage performance.

      Tom Courtney was also in The lonliness of the long distance runner by Alan Sillitoe. Saturday night and Sunday morning is also a fantastic british film of the 60s, stars Albert finney, great book too

      Yes, just found out about the Billy Liar connection. The lyrics on most sites for Ride's 'Twisterella' show: "Look at Twisterella, she hasn't got a fella", but it could be "Cookie Twisterella' as it sounds similar, and if you didn't know the original, it would make sense. It doesn't help that the two lines at the end of the song are deep in the mix, so not super clear...
