This is actually a song recording by Kiss, that’s right, the rock band KISS, for the movie Scooby-doo and KISS: Rock n Roll Mystery.
And I just decided to give the song a proper video.
The actual name of the song is “Don’t touch my Ascot” but for the sake of keeping this video “in universe” (if you know what I mean) I titled it “You can’t have My Ascot” because that’s what it says on the album cover.

The Scooby Doo crew is amazing. They wrote, recorded, and made cover art for this song for just one joke in their movie.

I just love the visual gag of Fred visibly being the only person to like this song when he puts is on
I Saw KISS a couple of times in concert, once in 2004, and again in October 2021, imagine my disappointment when they didnt perform this song
I was really hoping they'd play it during the End of the Road tour. I would never have stopped laughing.

I saved this to a few playlists about 2 years ago, and my taste in music changed a bit so I stopped listening to them, I opened one up and realized I forgot this song existed, and I'm glad to say it's as great as I remember.
What I find especially cool about this is that the center guy is obviously based on Fred, but the other 4 are actually KISS in their college days. The top right is Paul, characterized by his weird french cut from those days. The bottom left is Gene, with his big goofy smile and shiny dark skin. The bottom right is Peter with his charmy smile and glasses. The top left, only by law of elimination and grouping is Ace.
What I don't understand is why they tried to emulate original Kiss when it was new Kiss in the movie.
Very observant. And if you look at the color of each ascot, you can tell which KISS member is which. The colors for Ace and Peter were switched to make the secret harder to notice. But you are correct!

Tommy honestly became my favorite voice of KISS
The Ascot five even subtly resmeble the Mystery inc gang! The Middle obviously looks like fred, the left top looks like Shaggy, The right two have the same hair color as Daphne/velma, and the lower left has a similar skin tone to scooby with the hair looking his spots...
Or Maybe I'm just stretching the rest do just because the middle looks like Fred....

It's got elements of traditional pop/swing music from the 40s with more stripped back instruments. The harmonies are also reminiscent of barbershop.
