Rollo The Walker: I approve this comment
can you tell me what's the meaning?
@The Raiden96 The Cascadian pilot says the second line because he operates under the assumption that Monarch is only being skillful in battle for the money, not because of character, like one would assume kings would act out of for the sake of their people.
The mercenary pilot’s reply (“Not every king is just”) brings up the pint that not all kings operate out of character, and are some cases even worse than mercenaries, which means that Monarch can’t be discounted based on (assumed) character/current profession alone.

They got FOUR of Crimson's planes.
edit: I didn't read this all the way.
I like how Monarch is basically the exact oposite of an AC protagonist.
Our AC heroes are all battle hardned pilots that find themselves involved in crazy conspiracies and while bearing the scars of war they become legends only to disapear from the skies once peace is acheived
Monarch is a bat shit merc that literally lives for shit like this. He and his men go from battlefield to battlefield conquering the skies each and every time, not even the actual fucking apocalypse stops him from doing his thing. A true self made king of the sky.
In an AC game he'd likely be the main rival and one hell of a good one. I'd pay good money to see a confrontation like that.
God, ace combat and project wingman DLC would be awesome
In one dlc mission of that, monarch could be your ally and to beat the mission is to beat his score next mission is a fight against monarch or vice versa
He's scarface one/Phoenix.
@@francismendiola5057 Imagine a dogfight between Monarch and Mobius
You say 'opposite' of an AC protagonist, but you're literally describing Galm 1.
U gotta love missions like this. Straight air to air combat, no bs.. Just pure dogfighting
That's the stuff AC7 needed more of. Not filler missions with gimmicks.

This mission is astoundingly superb.
Also don’t you EVER PSM durning a dogfight! Don’t be like Crimson.
Just gotta know when to do it with the chosen aircraft. If you do a partial maneuver at the right distance from them, you can better dodge a swarm of missiles and line up a quick gun run. @@AiRPasternak "Showdown" by Jose Pavli. You're welcome.
@@AiRPasternak Background Music
Well for the first part I would have preferred either Escort or Safe Return from Ace Combat 4, 2nd part was spot on though.
The "Ice Oldman" achievement you get for this mission is a really nice homage to the Ace Combat 2 track, "Fire Youngman".
Shouldn't it be Ice Oldwoman to be opposite?
Most furballs in AC felt like last stands, this one felt like you were the hammer dropping down on the Federation as the Peacekeeper try to salvage the situation but fail
To be fair, some of those furballs actually were fights you couldn't afford to lose or retreat from. So they may as well have been a last stand.
Q: So is this Comona, Mayhem, Fires of Liberation or Operation Dual Wielder?
A: Yes.
Well yes cause air to air, but actually no. Last I checked none of those had such a large furball!
@@lt_rainbowslash58 Comona had actually huge furball, it just didn't have fancy smoke trail effects
More specifically, this mission is Operation Countdown (04), Operation Supercircus (5), Operation Battle-axe (zero), Selumna Peak (6), Alect Squadron (X)m and Operation Daredevil (7) combined into one massive battle.
I went through this mission on my first run in the MiG-29 and this is one chaotic furball. Ace Combat 7 barely comes close to how chaotic it is.
Also I noticed something with the AI for Crimson Squadron. Just like Mihaly, they only do PSM or erratic evasion if a missile is heading their way either from friendlies or from you. The best way to take them down is to go in close and gun them down. when you gun them, they have a delayed reaction before they pull off PSM, but by then, you have them dead on sights and filling them full of holes.
@@lt_rainbowslash58 Comona and Mayhem get passes since they are PS2 games.
@@nikoladedic6623 yeah, graphical limits on PS2 kinda keeps them from being the insane battles they should've been. Fires of Liberation was just a beautiful furball. ODW, third mission or not, is a much better furball than Faceless Soldier.

Yeah-yuh!
Eminent Domain shipgirl when?
The lack of two seater planes is a real shame!
I love the WSO
I need the mod that gives more planes AOA lol

@@firestorm165 that's how I play, I just am accustomed to its speed and control, it personally I find Prez' nagging a bit annoying, but its still something I'd miss if I flew the other planes.

This mission has me convinced I'm gonna get this game as soon as I get a controller for my computer.
If you have a Xbox 360 or a XBone controller, you can use that with a windows 10 computer just fine!
You can also use a Dualshock 4 if you have a buletooth adapter
@@oriolgonzalez9328 If I get a dualshock that has a usb plug can I just hook it into my computer? Last console I had was a PS3
@@michaelthayer5351 I know you ca. Use Dualshock 4 through usb with a simple USB to micro USB cable, I'm not sure how dualshock 3 works but there should be a way to connect it to a PC
@@oriolgonzalez9328 For PS3 controllers, an outdated but good option is SCPToolkit. There's also DS4Windows, which IIRC supports PS3 controllers as well.
"pop that champagne bottle I got in the fire extinguisher box!"
where's the fire extinguisher then?
Good question!
Gotta love how the level opens up with you being jostled by cloud turbulence. When you combine that with the player tendency to IMMEDIATELY put the hammer down on the the afterburner, you get this 'speed shaking to get to the fight' feel. And it smooths out just in time for Kaiser to say 'Let's get to business' and the HUD to come up.
The achievement for finishing this mission is called "ice oldman"
Hmmmmmm
Yeah i got the reference the moment i saw the Achievement pop up
To be fair, you did fire a lot of young men
Is that a reference to Kimi Raikkonen?
@@daniyarsadykov3385, bwoah, I don't know, you tell me.
@@SharikhKhan138 i looked at it. It's actually referencing to th "Fire Youngman" song from Ace combat 2.
Before I beat this mission, I complained about the lack of checkpoints. Now, after several tries on Hard, beating this mission was one of the most satisfying victories in gaming for me, right next to Ornstien and Smough from Dark Souls, or The Radiance in Hollow Knight. It wouldn't have been nearly as satisfying if you didn't have to clear the gauntlet of a dogfight before Crimson showed up.
You know when I played it on normal for the first time
I was in the mig 29
And I actually ran out of all munitions
I was kind of hoping there would be some way for me to resupply but nope
It's sure no The Dark Tower in length but I really appreciate and respect what they managed to do with no development hell and such small budget. Looking forward to the future, even if they don't get a letter from a certain corporation asking if they would like to produce a little something on a larger scale.
Regarding air mercenaries, it's 2021 soon, where's our modern Area 88 game?
Well, we have Conquest Mode. May as well start buying toilet paper with that pay for each our planes getting slapped by an airship wing.
I still remember the Area 88 game in SNES.
You know you're an Ace Combat veteran when you're laughing at random radio chatter because every line sounds exactly like AC04
Nothing tells desperation more than sending harriers in a dogfight.
Ha,look at me packing URMBS to one shot one of those Crimson plane.Shotgunning unguided rockets are fun though

Demon Lord!
Cypher: Demon Lord of the Round Table.
Monarch: Litterally Doom Slayer on a Plane.
man what a good mission. Round Table with Steroids.
By far my favourite mission, the BGM and the general vibe of the mission was amazing.
The more I hear Prez, the more Comic goes down the waifu list
Edit: Comic went up a little with the 'And yet you are. That's our victory.' Line.
Not going to lie, without subtitles I would think they were the same.
Let Diplomat have her, man.
Comic shoots down more target than dip in my exp shes a baddiee
2:50 The intro to this mission can change slightly. I tried it on Mercenary difficulty with the Project Wingman plane, and the intro had a nice title card (game's title) and camera filter.
It's with any plane on Merc and it's a Gundam Reference
@@WastelandWanderer1216 my guess would have been Macross.
Ah yes, the only mission in any game that consumes the combined air forces of half the world.
This is my favourite mission because It feels like we are the Main Character in the middle of war and flexing our ability to both our enemies and allies.
This mission is batshit insane and I loved every minute of it.
This mission giving me the same vibe as when i dive into a firework at B7R and a Shattered Skies over Comona island.
This really reminds me of Area B7R, what with the escalating stakes and arena-like warfare.
Welcome to the Round Table in the Snowstorm
- I like how they frequently do the PSM. Giving us a worthy challenge.
- Try to use the Speed of Tomcat to your advantage. Tomcat is not designed for Dogfight, but a Hit n' run tactics. The same goes with other Interceptors... Especially Avro Arrow.
- Damn those traffic. Time to dive into the fireworks!
- He who rules all.
Dare challenge him, you got what you deserved.
None shall stop him from his conquest to achieve glory.
Those who follow him will be rewarded with money, fame, anything they want.
He is Monarch. One who rules all.
Even playing the mission with the F14 and combined with the music makes it more awesome. Every time i get to play this mission I've immediately turn up the volume on my stereo
There is nothing cooler than getting through all that and at the end SO MANY allies are following you. Stardust. Assassin. Dip and Comic. Everyone made it out.
When I played this mission, I was screaming because it's so fun and bonkers
I'm loving the series so far
I used the mig 31 for this mission and had a great time. I also love how at the end, Prez talks shit on your behalf
One thing I love about this game is how butter smooth the movement is. very satisfying!!
Feels like the Mayhem mission, but this one's more natural. It reminds me of the Battle of Asakai - a single event that triggered a battle that proceeded to snowball to a massive scale. I like it better than the 'knightly court' of the Round Table.
I think this is the mission that confirms how great this game is.
I'm not used to allied aircraft shooting down so many planes! Blaze seemed to win the war by himself.
I realized I play too much DCS when I sat here repeatedly saying “get those wings out”😂
This whole mission feel like a bonus stage, and i fricking love it :D
The Steam achievement for this mission is Ice Oldman. I enjoyed that.
20:50 Good instinct, ACF. I've got that same sinking feeling. Cascadia/Sicario is gonna get their asses whipped within the next few missions.
21:32 One, that "HEY!" sounded a LOT like a LEGO City commercial where a man has fallen into the river. Two, is Galaxy channeling Long Caster there?
I can just imagine ACF smiling wide when the mission began.
I enjoyed replaying this mission using the chimera with AOA limiter & advance controls, making some Mihaly's manoeuvre on them elite squad 😆
This sure is a stunning looking game!
The plane models especially look awsome!
But i feel some of the sound effects for eg. explosion sound effects were better in Ace Combat 7..they felt more dynamic.
But other than that i feel this game has nailed it as far as arcade flight combat is concerned.
Kudos to the developers!
The sound track is absolute poggers
Loving the dialogue
I like the fact that the co pilot actually speaks
You got a 68 kill count, that is high and almost a nice.
Not gonna lie... this beast of a furrball can match Lighthouse and Unexpected Visitor, i mean.... this is AC6 levels of massive air battles here!
Did this was exactly joke mayhem in ace combat zero
I think this might beat Alect squadron for intensity
Meanwhile the hostility of the environment is worse than the Round Table. That's a Thundersnow below the battle there.
Comona and Mayhem intensifies
Wow this looks great. I saw a banner for this game on Steam and didn't really pay it no mind but now that I see you playing it, looks like a great Ace Combat type game. And it has VR support, I'm all in!! Going to be playing this myself now 😁
We’ve got a job to do.
I call it, Monarch is three strikes of this world

ok i'm quite late here, but for anyone still watching now, playing this with the modifiers Double Time and Gun Runner and bringing in the SP-34R, on mercenary difficulty, is just another level of fun
THIS is what B7R should have been like.
The Comona of Project Wingman.
So true.
It could also be the B7R of the game as well, in a smaller sense.
16:41: First blood. Finally. Yellow Four all over again, right?
17:23: Second blood.
19:04: Third blood... is that Crimson 1?!
19:07: Fourth blood, but not from me.

19:58: Damn, you're still flying. Well, points for trying to keep on fighting.
>Almost every combat capable fighter on this sight the world is inbound
YOU WHAT!?!?
This is so much fun in the PW MK1. One micromissile blast, 5-10 kills. Turn back while recharging, turn and shoot, repeat.
20:25 - As always, Waifu Systems Operator Prez is kawaii.
Kinda sad the strike eagle isn't in the game. 2 seater, great plane, actually very useful considering the amount of strike missions the game sends you out on while still being a true multirole. What's the best 2 seater in the game anyway? I haven't gotten anything after the Chimera.
suuuper late reply, but the best two-seater is unfortunately the Tomcat.
They make up for it by making the Conquest-exclusive MkII Tomcat arguably one of the best craft in the game, but it still sucks that you can't easily bring Prez into the final mission.
