INXS are amazing! Huge fan. I like most of their newer, yet old stuff with Michael. Michael was a phenom frontman who was under apprecieated for his vocal range IMO.
INXS was known as the best live band in the 80s and a lot of it was due to GOAT frrontman Michael Hutchence. (This particular song was a ful octave above his normal range. Not taken seriously because he was gorgeous.) A magnetic showman, great singer and songwriter. He had some special magic. Think how hard they had to work to make it worldwide from Oz!
This particular live concert is pure gold! Any song! All of it. I’ve been a fan since I first saw the “Don’t Change” video in 82?, I believe? Bought my first album when The Swing hit and then got the earlier ones. So glad I talked my parents into driving me and two friends three hours away to see them live at a small, general admission show in ‘86. Who knew they wouldn’t be around forever? 💔
Useless Trivia: Kirk Pengilly (the guy with glasses) married 7 times World Surfing Champion Layne Beachley and his daughter from a previous relationship April Rose was in famous soap opera Neighbours from 17 to 22
Believe it or not, Michael had throat problems for the Wembley concert. His voice has less clarity than usual and the 'gravelly' aspect isn't normally present but he still absolutely knocked it out the park.
there is no one better than hutch. honestly I don't get the jim morrison comp. JM was always awkward onstage, imo. michael was not! I miss him, so much. will always be my favorite.
Other great songs from this concert are What You Need, The Loved One, Need You Tonight, By My Side oh hell the whole concert is awesome and imo Jim Morrison has nothing on Michael Hutchence 😭😭😭 RIP to both

I love the way the audience had the do do dos down before the song even officially started. This entire show is the definition of a vibe.

True, Michael was definitely way more confident on stage, but definitely strikes some JM poses!
The comparison does stand with me. Morrison has no appeal interest to me.
