It depends, somewhat. I've got a laptop with the Iris Pro 580 and a desktop with the 4750G. The 4750G definitely performs better, generally 50-100% better in games, but I'm pretty certain the Iris Pro performance is hampered by having "only" a laptop cooling system.

Keep the 750 Ti even after you get a new GPU. It's got a compact design, requires no external power, has great thermals, driver support for every OS from XP up, and has native analog output support. There is no other GPU like it that you can buy. There is the 1050 Ti which is indeed much more powerful and has more VRAM but it doesn't support anything below Windows 7 and doesn't support analog outputs natively.

Most people misunderstand where AMD APU's are in performance. Yes its integrated graphics but its not compute-limited integrated graphics like the others. It is bandwidth-limited integrated graphics. The only setting you cant jack up is the resolution(s) of render targets. You can have all the lighting, and all the traditional AA methods, and even texturing up to 2gb or 4gb (whatever your APU's shared memory limit is) with minimal performance impact. Screen resolution and the resolution of things like shadow buffers are what AMD APU's are most sensitive to, by far. If you can deal with 720P then a 3400G will play anything on the market at reasonable framerates without otherwise gimping the render settings. I mean, 60FPS Red Dead Redemption 2 @ 720P with high settings elsewhere... yeah? Thats where AMD APU's are. They arent for competitive gaming, but they provide a very good experience none-the-less.

The 2400g at the time was actually a very good cpu. Glad I grabbed a 5700xt sapphire pulse and a r5 3600 before all of this shortage crap started happening. But I still only play high refresh 1080p. I can play at 1440p at decent frames with this setup though. I grabbed some 3600mhz Trident Z RAM on sale that same day. It made a huge difference from the mismatching Chinese 2666mhz ram I was using lol. But that APU was a game changer for me. It still isnt a bad little iGPU.
tl/dr the 2400g iGPU was a great starter gaming rig for me with enough (mismatching lol) ram, even though it was crap ram and 12 gb of it.

I liked how you actually acknowledged the 750ti after so many years, I understand why since I would also consider it the minimum for PC Gaming. I feel like you should have used a non reference GTX 750ti, mainly for slightly better cooling and higher core clock. I have two of them, an EVGA FTW and the dual fan ASUS model. I mainly use the ASUS one in a Retro Gaming Windows XP machine because of it's VGA output which I use with a CRT. I haven't used the EVGA FTW 750ti in forever, I only ever use it when I'm bored and wanna see how in performs in a new game.
The GTX 750ti is kind of iconic and game changing to me, like the Radeon 9700 Pro or Nvidia 8800 GTX. Cards that people would consider a staple in PC Gaming evolution. The 750ti may have been a budget gaming card when it came out and it wasn't beefy like the 9700 Pro of 8800 GTX, but it was a card I saw a lot of people flock to when it came to the "PC Master Race" movement when most people were moving away from Xbox 360 and PS3. Instead of going for a Xbox One or PS4, how about the PC? The price, performance and, power efficiency made it real appealing to a lot of new comers, if they were wanting to build a budget PC or upgrade and existing one.
When it first came out in 2013, it ran a lot of big games very well while looking and running better than the consoles. The gap narrowed as the years went by but still it did a respectable job. It now struggles in some games within recent years (hell it doesn't even start Death Stranding or Assassin's Creed Valhalla) , but you do have to keep your expectations in check and remind yourself it's a 2013 budget card. I really feel like this card made a huge impact for how it made Console Gamer's turn their heads and see that it was affordable and showed the many benefits of PC gaming at the time. It's a card I will always have respect for.

Got one of these a while back. Can't remember when, it was early on in the life of these things. A10 7800 Series. I ran that thing for years. It was incredible. Kept me gaming on scraps when I had very little. It finally gave out in 2019 and I had some money at that point so I upgraded to a new system with dedicated GPU. However, if you are low on funds, an APU can be great. You won't ever play on the highest settings, but I ran many great games for years on one. I was playing Subnautica on it in 2019 when it finally gave out. And I could have taken way better care of it. Linus mentions resale value, but you could honestly just throw a little media machine/console emulator together with it when you do upgrade. I planned on making one of these myself, but honestly thought they had scrapped the whole idea of APU's due to lack of options when I looked last. Hopefully they do expand on them more, they are great value options.

Recommendation @LMG, I think it'd be a great idea to have a video (maybe tech quickie? Or a small portion of a main video) that explains how to read your plots that include 99% min and 95% min.
For many people they may just find themselves staring at the "average" values and unaware what these other metrics mean. Although they can be very important in some scenarios.

@@e1ectricfee1 I was able to get my 5700 XT online, two days before they all went out of stock or were double the price of what they should’ve been. Got mine for 430 USD, a week or so later that same model sells for 1.4k lmao

And to think that I took a $40 price cut as a sign that AMD was getting rid of undesired inventory and would be pulling back support in favor of the 6000 series being released soon LOL gratitude is an important thing to learn in life…

My dad was just building his PC with this CPU 5 minutes ago. You can try buying them OEM from Ebay, or even Amazon if you know how and where to look.
