PG's John Bohlinger hung out with Hunter Hayes before his second sold-out show in a row at Nashville's historic Ryman Auditorium, where Hayes gave us the story behind some of his favorite guitars and played one of his killer riffs on the first guitar he bought.
People may not know but John Bohlinger is a bad ass guitar player in his own right! He plays on a lot of Nashville TV produced shows!
Not sure why this rig rundown is getting so many negative comments but Hunter is the man! he played every instrument on his first album and was in the studio with none other than Dan Huff! The kid is amazing and I wish the hate would cease!! good job PG!! I enjoyed it!
***** It says nothing about the MUSICIAN. He's a great MUSICIAN. So he doesn't know right down to the tee what the specs are. Neither does half the friggen music world. That's why there are sound people and guitar techs. They're paid to know the specs. Hunter is paid to be a musician and he's pretty damn good at it.
***** Not all guitarist's are gear heads, knowing alot about the gear does not make you better at guitar. Most the time I see these videos the artist himself is not explaining all the gear but the tech for the artist is.....Right? He plays great anyways

By the way, I hope you guys know that the nova delay also has a audio tap in just like the flashback delay. You have to hold down the tap tempo switch and strum your guitar. It's the same exact feature. Works the same on both pedals. Both of them mute the guitar's signal when you strum the tempo while holding the switch down.
This guy just gained max respect from me for playing everything on Storm Warning... as a music geek who is blessed enough to do this as a living, I appreciate artists who are just as talented on their instruments as they are with their voices.
Not sure why so much hate on hunter kids a decent guitarist and great singer/songwriter he will only get better with time I don't thing he's being arrogant here just an excited kid man leave the guy alone!
+jason sandler I agree, he's a good young man, he's full off energy & himself etc. he'll smooth out as he gets some mileage like most of us, anyway who'd want to be 20ish forever?
If you don't know the interviewer he's John Bohlinger. He's played with the whos who in music. Excellent dude!
I actually liked the interview, he asked some silly questions but I think this dude has more knowledge about gear and did his ground work before the interview.

Why is everyone so negative and mean. The kid has talent and can play circles around most. Give credit when credit is due. Go piss on people somewhere else.
An amazing songwriter, fantastic singer, and phenomenal musician. Plays all the instruments on his records. Killer performer as well. Check him out!

I am a long time viewer of the Rig Rundowns and have never went to the comments to bitch or complain but Jesus Christ this was bad. The interviewer was absolutely insufferable. You barely saw the gear after they went through the guitars. If you want to do interviews then awesome! If you want to do Rig Rundowns then smart thinking because that's what everyone wants but please read these comments and take not that this new format is not working.

Its funny because I've studied this kid since he first came out from Atlantic records. He really enjoys making music I'll give him that. He's a decent musician not like most at his level but still decent. However, to correlate him to Prince was a stupid thing to say. Prince is far more technical and advanced in his musicianship even when Prince was his age. For all those that don't know this.The majority of his songs were actually written lyrically by writers from the label company. Especially, his first album. However, regardless of that some of the licks he plays (such as in "Storm Warning") he actually created.
He's still young to the music scene but lets see if he will last among the others before we are to judge.

Admittedly, I don't like the new interviewer. It seems like this interview was made because he has ties with the artist. And it seems like more of an interview and less like a rundown of someone's rig. Please, get someone else for this.
Took me a few minutes to realise that the presenter wasn't holding a taser in his left hand. He does need a pop-shield, though.
This guy seemed a lot younger than 22, seems like he could talk for days though...

BarkeyBear Right? I have 7 guitars. An Epiphone Sg -310, Fender Road Worn 50's strat, a Custom build strat, a 1960 Fender Bronco & a 1960s Strat coming in the mail. I don't have any sort of special job, I paint with my mom, still can afford all of that. If you want a guitar bad enough you'll get it, lol affordability be damned. lol

I'll tell ya though man theres nothing like having something made for you. Once you reach that point that's what you do. If you ever need a Tele go to Forrest Custom Guitars he made a custom Tele for my rig. Awesome builder! That's the way to go for a lot of things if your a serious musician. Brad Paisley, John Fogerty, Keith Urban, Hunter Hayes all us country artists are using custom jobs now. Its a good way to insure no one sounds like you. Theres no other guitar like mine in the world. No other guitar looks, sounds or plays like mine. Now that's something special, but when you are at the point and are serious about making music a career that's what you go for.
He did not call anyone to build NOTHING OK =/ ...if you really know him then u will know that he collects them OK stupid =/ could u just keep your comments to yourself , coz I think no one wants to hear an ugly baby like u =/ ...I also think that hunter needs to give u some of his talent ,coz u don't have any ,only to hate on people u don't know =/ ....

The tech talking about the flashback delay and it determining the tempo by strumming. Actually the nova delay has that same capability. Maybe I should be Hunter's guitar tech.

Not knocking the new interviewer as this is obviously a PG move, but this doesn't seem to work and/or flow right. I don't think the demographic here can relate to the interviewer. There was a more peer group connection with the previous PG peeps. Just my observation.
This interviewer is just too happy. It weird's me out. In a bad way.
Cool stuff, did not like the play in tune comment at 9:45. If a strat does not stay in tune when using your whammy something is not set right. Hunter is an awesome player and artist.

Poor guy has a bunch of great guitars. I remember when an artist had a guitar and a backup and plugged right in. Now they have drawers of pedals. I can't listen anymore everything sounds artificial to me.

Okay maybe this interviewer should go into politics with the whole used car salesman crooked cheesy thing he has going on with his personality. I can't believe I'm saying this but unless they put someone else on these rig rundowns I don't believe I will watch them anymore. I always look forward to these so this sucks. If I want to know about the artist back story I will look for a wiki on them. Rig rundown has always been my go to for great info on the GEAR. PG please listen to your fans ditch this guy.
