Fish-spearing always reminds me of Age of Empires 😁. The second demonstration in which refraction makes the text visible is pure genius - so simple, yet amazing.
Me too - I loved playing the original Age of Empires as a kid! Yes the second bit with the bowl of water - I've never seen refraction explained so simply and well as that.
By far the best demonstration of refraction I have ever seen.
Try it on your polarised friends.
(No fish were harmed in the making of this episode)

Until maybe 20 seconds in, I was thinking, "That fish sure is cooperative."
Great example with the bowl!
That’s not a real fish. You’ve tricked me again guys!
I love this channel =)
How did traditional spear fishers overcome this illusion?
throw the spear straight down onto the fish (try to avoid your own toes!)
They missed the fish but still hit it
That's a well behaved fish
Another great video. The kids learn a lot
So simple yet so effective
Glad the fish was fake.
Why ,it would have been a nice snack for the crew
G'day Deane,
🤔There's something Fishy going on here
FIRST ;)
Grr, lucky guy.
