- In this episode of The Source, our senior editor Zain Raza interviews former International Peace Bureau executive director and peace activist Reiner Braun. Zain begins the interview by assessing the significance of the results of the 2024 European Union elections. They then discuss the escalating situation in Ukraine, in particular France's decision to send French military trainers to support the Ukrainian military. Finally they move on to the situation in Israel-Gaza, where they analyze the US-backed ceasefire in Gaza, which was recently accepted by the UN Security Council.

ABOUT REINER BRAUN: Reiner Braun studied German Literature, History and Journalism. Since 1982 he has been actively involved in the German and international Peace Movement, working f.e. as Executive Director for Scientists for Peace and Sustainability (Germany) and the International Network of Engineers and Scientists for Global Responsibility (INES). Since 2004 Reiner Braun has been working for various projects related to the Einstein year at the Max Planck Institute for the History of Science in Berlin and for the Max Planck Society. From 2006-2017 he was the Executive Director of the IALANA Germany and the Vereinigung Deutscher Wissenschaftler (VDW), the German pugwash group. He was from 2013 till 2019 one of the two Presidents of the International Peace Bureau and was till 2022 the Executive Director of IPB. He is one of the speakers of the German peace mouvement. He was a founding member of the international network "No to war - no to NATO" and is a member of its coordinating committee.

So there is a "right" and a "left' parti (BSW) in Gemany, which is definitely engaged for peace.. -
Thank you Reiner Braun for speaking the truth about why migration is based on wars and stealing of resources.
Too bad not enough people care to look at the truth, I see it amongst my peers and even my wife. I can't seem to get through to her.
As a Swiss, I'm totally upset about the failed get-together without Russia, how can anyone take this serious? Add to the fact that since more than 10 years this could and should have been addressed, but the 'western hegemony' seems to want to continue, for what? Ukraine is selling off so much land to the west to get weapons, it's a farce.
All wars are wrong and they are imho the biggest polluters of the planet yet are never even counted by all those years of climate talks, another bs move to push the western propaganda aided by the oil extracting industries. Sick.
That is not true. Germany is flooded with people living from social money without a right to stay here. Criminality is rising enourmasly and nothing is done bycthe Gouvernement. Thats the true reason for stepping right. Because you cant step out without for becoming robbed, or raped, or stabbed. Think about this.
