  • PLEASE NOTE THE BATTERIES ARE INSTALLED WRONGLY IN THIS VIDEO.
PUT THE FIRST BATTERY WITH THE NEGATIVE INTO THE HOLE INTO THE HOLE AND THE SECOND WITH POSITIVE TOWARDS THE HOLE.
The MSA Sordin Supreme Pro X are excellent earmuffs.
However the design on changing the AA batteries is not easy banging it until the second battery falls out. However with a 0.9mm allen key it is simple and not damaging your earmuffs. I have used this technique for 6 years of use.

What an absolutely disgraceful piece of engineering. For £220 I expected much much better and not carry around a special tool to change batteries. I will go back to the older cheaper model with the batteries inside the pull off ear muff. Thank you for the video, you saved me a lot of time and made my mind up for me.

I agree its a bad design from a battery change point of view but i would consider the fit, cancellation and robustness of the unit as well.
If you use lithium batteries they will last for days.

The way I do it is I take a screwdriver covered in electrical tape and reach in and push down on the back of the battery. It makes it pop up in the front where you can then pry it the rest of the way out with a pen or a plastic stick or something.

I already had mine packed up for return when I came across this video. I had already dented the first battery thinking that a small amout of pressure would slip the battery where it belonged. When I used a screwdriver to push the first battery properly into its slot, I noticed that pressure toward the mouth of the compartment did not work. I had to push the battey in more toward the bottom and the second battery slipped right in. I agree, crappy engineering in this one aspect, but the balance of the build and performance is superb.
