He's the worst Emperor in Chinese dramas character wise. He just degrades to the point you feel sad even for the worst villains in the drama that aren't him. He treats Ruyi like trash, he is uncaring to his concubines, his love flickering and dying fast. . . And he keeps sleeping with women outside the palace uncaring how that affects his image. He's good at blaming everyone but himself and realized his wrongs only in the end, when he's in old age and dying. . . Things he should have realized way before he destroyed so many lives with his lust and jealousy.
