  • In this video, we wire the first floor of the cabin and set it up to handle solar power as the primary source of power. We are trying a new solar generator from All Powers that includes a 30Amp circuit.

    Troy. Put a piece of foam behind the electrical pannel. Every see pictures of frost coming out of a pannel? The reason why is because on a outside wall with no insulation behind it it's a huge air leak.

    Troy, may I make a suggestion concerning the plug issue at the solar generator? Instead of changing the plug on the end of your current wiring, why don't you make yourself a short pigtail using a couple of round plugs with one male end and one female end? That way, your new pigtail would not block off any receptacles on the generator and would provide some flexibility with your connection alternatives. Just a thought. Have a great one, brother.

      Good idea. I found a 30amp cylindrical plug that will take care of this issue but an adapter to be able to add the 20amp 120v for my small generator would be nice too

    Instead of a sticky for fly s If you grow mint hang foot long vine of mint at your door out side and in and fly will be gone , Had 100 of fly s in chicken coop hang mint in 1/2 hour maybe 3 or 4, mint sure does work, Love your cabin it s coming along great have a good day

    I really enjoy these off-grid videos too. I’m usually the land management video type of viewer but I’ve always enjoyed your budget friendly solutions on the off-grid site. Well kind of….other than the paid for promotional items you receive. But hey, you test them out and let us know. I’d do it too. Thanks. How has the worm composting septic been operating?

    I am surprised All power did not go with a twist lock style receptacle. That would have made more sense. That way neither top or bottom outlet would not get blocked.

      Yes! That would have been nice. I have found a cylindrical plug that I ordered and it will keep both outlets open.

    I think you need a ground rod going to your breaker box. I'm not an electrician but you should make sure either way.

      You are correct. Right now, we are relying on the generator’s internal ground. We will add one before we make the system any bigger. Good eye!!!

    Can you add battery packs to the solar generator, like you can with the VTOMAN?

    • @RedToolHouse
      @RedToolHouse  Год назад

      It appears not. The VTOMAN has a very nice feature in that option. Eco flow does as well
