I have never bought into the brand loyalty argument. I was raised on Massey, have used JD and CIH. They all make good tractors now. All of them have had models with issues in the past and will have again the future. Tractor purchases now come down to dealer support and parts availability. My area is 90% JD due to dealer support and parts availability. We have one CaseIH dealer in the county and it is a small dealer. The next CaseIH dealership is over 75 miles away. New Holland has nothing within 70 miles as well. There are four JD dealerships within 40 miles. It's easy to see why everyone just about is JD.
Never had a lot of JD experience but today I raked with a pretty rough 4430. Now have a '16 model 105 hp JD sitting in my shop now. Long story but I sure hope this one works out . I call it my retirement tractor.

Probably far :D For me its further then both Case,Claas or John Deere dealerships, but its close enough and you don't really need the dealer cause you can get parts for them in almost every parts store or farm related store and if it is reliable but if it does break then its easy to fix by yourself!

Hey mike. I just went form a case fan to an John Deere fan just because the dealership left my town. The level with the trule rabbit it’s for going up and down in gears
I grew up with John Deere and the older Ford, Fordson tractors. Several years ago I was looking for a compact tractor (50-60 HP) and bought a John Deere. It was only about 35 HP pto. It just lost so much HP with the hydro static transmission. Traded it in on the Kubota 7060 I have now, it is a 71 HP / 69 PTO. It was all about the money. I looked at JD, Cass IH, and New Holland. I would drive any of them but they wanted a lot more money. I like my Kubota and when it is paid off, I'm talking with my Cass IH / Kubota dealer about getting something around 120+ HP. Will have to see what money is going to take.

I don’t think the New Holland’s have the technology like Case IH or John Deere but still nice. The real deal is that them red tractors look good on u and I’d like to see u doing some work with them so just say red might be your color mike lol.
Lol if they wanna drop off a red one for a little bit I'll run it with the Deere's. As far as being a full time red guy I don't know if I could do that
I'm not buying any. Just wanted to sit in some different colored ones that I wasn't use to. Now if a dealership wants to drop one off for me to demo then I'll gladly run it in the fields.
Doesn't it seem that all the new tractors have very little space between the steps and the front wheels? They have the fuel fill/tank, DEF, front fenders and if you have a loader .... and it is always fun trying to find where they stick that old toolbox.
I grew up driving older red and blue (I despise red tractors and post merger blue ones). I have driven a MX240 and a 530 Quadtrac. Besides them being red I hate their shuttle shift on the steering column and the gear shift on the throttle lever. The MX240 had the cummins in so that was a good thing. the 530 Quadtrac had the Fiat engine in it (a POS). I had to preheat the engine beforehand or it wouldn't start even on a warm day. I don't have too much experience with the post merger blue tractors but have heard plenty of horror stories of engine and tranny problems. IMO They're JUNK!!!!!!

If you can afford a spare tractor buy your favorite colour... if not buy the one you can get fixed the quickest as they all will let you down at some point 👍👍 😆
Yeah unfortunately farmers have been too good at their jobs for the last 50 years or so. Only way I see it improving is if we cut back production and force people to fight for our products, so not likely to happen. Milk qoutas/price supports were removed in Europe a couple of years ago and since then most guys with less than 150 cow herds have gotten out. Anyone that stayed have gotten alot bigger but that said due to prices herds of 400 to 500 are making the same profit as herds of 100 to 150 were ten years ago. It's hard to leave if it's in your blood though. ☺
Don’t even try a new holland they suck I know you said case and new holland are the same and we hate our new holland and love the case it has no problems and the new holland is crap the cvt on the 170 puma the Putin on the back of the throttle is a hand clutch
