Enjoyed watching. After over 50 years of tying and fly fishing and not being able to do either anymore, it's always nice to see others practicing their art.
Excellent tying as always Sean. The Park shrimp has been a great pattern for me including a PB that took the tube fly version. Sure is a great fly that every angler should have in the box. 👍🙂
Funny you mention that James, I recently picked up some of this dubbing at a recent show in Strabane and the green park shrimp is on the cards! Can see it also being deadly on the tidal beats in Ballina were green is always successful with extremely fresh fish
Love the pattern! My favourites are Blue Charm, Green Highlander, Haugur for hook flies tied for me by Håkan Karsnasan and TTT micro Dee Special, TTT Micro Willie Gun and TTT Micro Sillen from Frödin flies for tube flies (but I have several patterns pending, both singles, doubles, tube flies and hitch flies to test)
I use a skinny snaelda ish fly in black, yellow and red thirds with a gold ribbed bright red body and yellow hackle when the water is cold. My 8C plus water main fly is on a half or 1 inch tube and looks like a surreal prawn in yellow n orange with yellow barred squirrel over top. Its similar to tony blacks ghillie fly but i dont bother with body dressing. I occassionally use a phatagorva in dark run off or a wee treble allys shrimp in warm water. Make life easy have few patterns. I occassionally add a lead keel under tube for big cold deep water. It can make a big difference esp early. In big deep glides a fly with a bit of ballast catches me more than one wafting around like a leaf. But later in the year when theyre in the more riffley mddle river a lighter fly is best.
That's a pretty bald claim sir and i dont think the best salmonfly even exist since one guy might catch lots on it but the guy next to you might not catch anything. Flyfishing for salmon is mostly about the angler and not so much about the fly exept in a very few extreme situations.
I did say fly choice is down to personal preference and I personally think the park is the most versatile of them all. Others may say the gold Willie Gunn, stoats tail etc 👍

Thank you for the lovely words Conrad, glad you are enjoying the videos 👍
Nice mix of colors thx for sharing
@@lasse1187 glad you like it and thanks for watching 👍
Oh and i agree the Park Shrimp looks like a lovely fly. So little time so many flies!
It's the movement of the tail that wins it over for me Alex 🎣

Thanks very much Neil. Good to see others have such faith in it. Was expecting a few slagging about gold Willie gunns or cascades to be honest 😂
Very neat Sean, my favourite is the black and yellow, if i havent got one i use a yellow and black!
Thanks Billy. A deadly colour combination, black and yellow, especially this time of year too Billy 👌
Hello Seán! Beautiful fly
Thanks very much mate 👍
blue charm is my favorite to tie as well as catch salmon
Nice one David 👌 only ever fished it in small sizes for low water
@@SeánWoodsFishing I use a size 10 double hook on small rivers or lower water conditions
@@DavidStanleymusicmight just try it in bigger sizes myself next year 👌
As a boy and young we caught dozens of salmon on Blue Charms tied by the late Bessie Brown
good luck in our endeavors @@SeánWoodsFishing
Park shrimp is definitely one of the best flies out there. I’ve had great great success on a Gaula green version in clear water in the spring.

That's a nice selection to cover all kinds of conditions 👍

Brilliant post Alex 👌 very well thought out plans. Nice to have a selection but let's face it.. we usually only choose the same handful of patterns 😂
Ye they work for me. I call my main one Alex's shrimp!
I have never got anything on the park but the Calvin is a different matter
Just keep tying it on Tommy. I had a springer hit a park this morning, first bit of action this year. Fish love em 👍
Is the fly a Breathless Mumbler Minnow!😢😮😅
Thanks for watching
It's a fly I've never tried tbh but nice pattern
Worth having a selection of all sizes. You won't regret it 👍
