I was watching an older GoPro video from Rampage and was like “ahhh it’s so shaky” I don’t even know how we watched it hahaha the new camera is revolutionary!
It's awesome. Even if it's not as good as a gimbal, the images look good and you don't need so much space for it
Well sometimes a gimbal is just too stable in my opinion and we can't feel the ride, I think that this is perfect for this type of sport.
@@vincentcampagna3254 only if the lighting is good, if not the hypersmooth doesn't work well.
@@mikaonthefly3871 I bought it as my first Gopro, and tested it with low light condition and worked fine, probably not as good as normal but wasn't that bad. Still better than the Hero 6 in my opinion.
this has to be on a gimbal aswell. no way is old mate doing whips and the camera is still level.
@@iConviicted No gimball here, this is the new GoPro stablization and its real. I can tell you I have one and this is not on a gimball.

Having bought one, I can safely say that HyperSmooth is awesome. However, if I'm trying to film normal non-action shots, the Hypersmooth functionality doesn't really work, and you still get twitches come through.

Overall looks good. That head turn at the end was weird because of the hypersmooth thing, so it looked like a slow motion head turn.

I don't think it's a Gimbal Killer for MTB youtubers but it's still cool. Would be useful for times when a gimbal is impractical, like raceday.

I don't know if they are using post processing when they post it on youtube..but hypersmooth is only good on daylight and chin mounted on ff helmet. gimbal is still way more stabilized even the lowest quality A.Cam

there is hypersmooth 60 fps but they didn't use it for this because thre creator prefers it like this for motion Blur.
@@Mousy obviously you don't know what your talking about. If you creating a video or whether it be a picture professional you try to capture as much source data as possible. then you take that and post process it to your need ie make frames only 30, add artificial motion blur. It's more likely they did record in 60 fps and gopro changed the format
The only reason to shoot 60 fps is if you want to put some slow motion in. There isn't much of a noticeable difference between 60 & 30 fps. If anything, 60 looks worse because there's less motion blur.
Many interesting comments here. I totally disagree with the opinion that shooting in 24 or 30 fps would be better, concerning action sports. Also the argument that 60fps are only used for slomos is in my eyes completly wrong. 60fps looks much more fluent above all if the shown footage contains fast moving objects, like here.
I don't inderstand GoPro in this concern. They want to present their super smooth footage but chose a format that has a crucial disadvantage over the 60fps option.
@@XDirter I think you mean fluid, not fluent. Maybe a little bit, but not enough that you could pick it out unless you're comparing side by side. I don't know why people have this idea that motion blur is unwanted. Video actually looks smoother with motion blur. Pretty much all professional filmmakers shoot at 24 fps. That's about the same speed as film, and apparently it's about the speed at which our eyes see (so I've read). Another thing is that 60 fps can put a strain on your hardware, so it's more difficult to edit, takes longer to render, and also takes longer to load on RUclips. I pretty much cannot watch 4k 60 fps without it constantly stopping to buffer, and that's with a pretty fast computer (likely crap internet). If you dig back into Jordan Boostmaster's videos from when he first got the Hero 6, he tried both 60 fps and 30 fps, and there was hardly any difference. In the end, he chose to stick with 30 fps.
