I have found that throughout the Bible it isn’t the details of the stories that matters, it’s that the stories exist at all with undeniably similar details. Your example, Peter, of the retelling of the events in Jennifer’s high school class is perfect for this. These stories were written through many years and predominantly, I think, written from oral history. Thinking along these lines, I have no problem accepting them in faith that all the stories contain an essential truth. Don’t know if I’m making sense, but that’s my thinking and, for now, I’m sticking with it. 😊
