btw stray kids also have actual kdrama osts that you can check out if you'd like: Story That Won't End - Extraordinary You OST Hello Stranger - Pop Out Boy OST Here Always by Seungmin only - Hometown Cha Cha Cha OST edit: SKZ also has osts for an anime entitled Tower of God. They have two tracks - TOP and SLUMP which both have music videos as well
This was written by the four of them -- Chan, Lee Know, Seungmin, and I.N. Any time you encounter a unit song -- _any_ unit song, by _any_ combination of members making up the unit -- assume the members in that unit wrote it. That's how SKZ unit songs work: they divide into whatever units they want for that album, and then the members in each unit go off and write a song together.
Two things the lyric video got wrong lol. 1st ooo was Seungmin and the 2nd higher ooo was Bang Chan. The whole verse before the 2nd chorus was just I.N. They actually have 2 kdrama OSTs as a group and Seungmin as 2 solo OSTs.
In their discography there is everything to listen to, in the TMA interview that came out today, Seungmin talked about being excited for the new album that they will release in 2023 with different subunits, Chan said that maybe a "red lights 2" will come and maybe become pioneers of a new genre, they are crazy 😅 they must rest, but it shows that they love music
this is such a beautiful song I remember crying when I listen to this bc of their vocals like is this heaven? lol seungmin mention this in oddinary intro that this is song for stay since they dont see stay for 2 years bc of pandemic.
Waiting For Us is the most streamed song from Oddinary for me because it is so angelic and beautiful. Mind you I am a fan of metal music haha and this song caught me bad 😂
i really wouldve mistaken this as an ost for a kdrama because its just too good. also, they all had a hand in writing the lyrics. the second part of the angelic bridge (the ooh part) was actually chan!
In this case, the "person" being sung to -- the "you" -- is STAY (although obviously, as with many songs, the meaning can be further applied to other situations, especially since that kind of lyrical openness is a standard in SKZ). Up until MAXIDENT, virtually all love-ish songs addressed to an indefinite "you" (as opposed to each other or their inner selves or whatever) are to STAY in one form or another. If you watch the lyrics, you'll see where they work in references and clues. Context is also significant -- this was made just as the world was starting to open back up after the height of the pandemic, during which SKZ spent the majority of their careers up to that point being separated from their fans, unable to actually see or interact with them. Have that understanding in mind when reading the lyrics, and you'll catch the references.
