You are completely right about enjoying the positives, obviously being a Palace fan and seeing how we've progressed over the last 3 years, it used to be good when we beat Preston, now it's alright if we beat Liverpool! I'm, like you Spencer, uncertain on how my team will do this season. We'll probably finish 9th/10th and West Ham in and around there somewhere. But I am someone who enjoys the positives. I don't care if we've lost our last two games if we've beaten Chelsea away and we're 7th in the league. For a club like ours, with a stadium that holds 27,000 people, this is unheard of and that's why im enjoying it. To be honest I don't care if no one reads this, its just something that's been important to me for ages and finally someone agrees.

Had a very similar experience when my hometown club, Brisbane Roar played Central Coast Mariners at home a few weeks back. By far, the best football game ever, won 2-1, sat in the Home crowd area where all the chants were being sang, chanting throughout the game and managed to get on pitch for a photo with every supporter. Manged to get pictures with the players and manager. Brisbane aren't the biggest club in the world but being there and supporting them is by far the best experience of my life. Hands down.

I completely agree Spenny. I'm a Crystal Palace fan and although we aren't one of the huge clubs in the prem, we have done some incredible things. Such as doing the double on Liverpool last year, beating Chelsea at Stamford Bridge and beating Man city. When you support a smaller club, you do have to celebrate the positives and in all honesty expect negatives to come around. At least we are not glory hunters. And also, I have season tickets at Palace and I sit right by the pitch. Don't mention the other week though😆😆

I tell this to many of friends when they mock my team for losing against poorer teams, 'thejoy lies in seeing them play, regardless of the result' I get happiness merely by seeing them play and that's all that matters. If we lose its disappointing if we win it's a bonus. As a football fan, I am also happy when I see smaller clubs able to fight against a huge club like Chelsea and this brings more joy to me. This shows football may not all be about money but passion now :)

I tell this to many of friends when they mock my team for losing against poorer teams, 'thejoy lies in seeing them play, regardless of the result' I get happiness merely by seeing them play and that's all that matters. If we lose its disappointing if we win it's a bonus. As a football fan, I am also happy when I see smaller clubs able to fight against a huge club like Chelsea and this brings more joy to me. This shows football may not all be about money but passion now :)

loves this series spencer , its one of my favorite even though im a chels fan. I didn't see the match because i was goon in a away day with my local football club. And your right my club is in a similar (ok maybe worse) position then your and you've got to get positives out of games. People who support teams who have never been relegated into the championship and seen your club in the hands of the gods as to whether you come back up or stay there will never understand what a great achievement it is for West Ham to be where they are right now. The Club has been run very well for the last few years and the team has improved as a result of that. Well done West Ham. Long may it continue.

I'm a Burnley fan Spencer, and I understand exactly what you mean about enjoying the positives, eg. We beat Man. City 1-0 at home and drew 1-1 away at Chelsea last year, but at least we gave it a good go on a tight budget. Loving the channel, one of my faves, keep it up!

People tend to mock me for my team, because they aren't renown for winning titles and it doesn't annoy me - I know that I support Everton, not for the titles my side win, but for the fact that they have been my team for so long.
