Unlike The Mole
I'm Not In A Hole
& I Can't See Anyway
Just Like A Doll
I'm One Foot Tall
But Dolls Can't See Anyway
The Frozen Stare
The Clothes & Hair
These Make Me Taste Like A Man
Tied To A Door
Chained To A Floor
An Hour Glass Grain Of Sand
Life In A Sack
Is Coming Back
I'm Like The Clock
On The Wall
Swim In The Sea
Swim Inside Me
But You Can't Swim Far Away
I Never Grew
Covered Up By You
& Nothing Grows Anyway
Life In A Sack
Is Coming Back
I'm Like The Clock
On The Wall
Chromatics do covers so well.
Yes. Yes they do.
"Just Like A Doll...I'm Like The Clock On The Wall..."
Will they perform 2020/21 in Berlin?
yes
8 minutes is very long. I can listen to this for 8 hours.
@Павел Пискун yeah.. Exactly
😭
jesus and mary chain and chromatics forever
lads I went to yer concert in Dublin & that was the last concert I went to since the world went mad
such good memories of that night, God bless yous all yous seem like really decent people
Come back to Dublin when all this blows over & we’ll go even crazier than we did last time right!
tara that show at vicar street was incredible. we can't wait to come back. xoxo
Italians Do It Better Music can’t wait to see yous, until then I’ll keep listening
Chromatics always chose songs that are very challenging to cover as the original is pretty strong and unique already. But where others fail, chromatics make the songs their own, adding just that necessary own sound of them to it without neglecting the original.
J & MC's version has always been great as is the whole Darklands album, but this is just as good.
In a time where creativity and an own identity are rare in music, Chromatics keep delivering. Keep it up, guys!!
we couldn't agree more Cassandra! the group does not take cover songs likely. the songs they have chosen over the years have a very deep personal meaning for the band & they work very hard to pay reverent homage while taking the songs into new territory. Johnny believes songs are living organisms open to interpretation & deconstruction. full of infinite levels to discover & explore. darklands is classic! we are so happy you can appreciate chromatics' celebration of this wonderful song. xoxo
@@ItaliansDoItBetterMusic J&MC will play Darklands integral on their European tour the next months. Would be amazing if Ruth would join them on stage. ;)
Together with Hope Sandoval the 2 most amazing female voices from the last decades if you ask me and both like J&MC. No coincidence! :)
Thank you for commenting. I knew it was a JAMC cover but I couldn't place it. Nowhere was there any comment until I saw your comment. Love this permutation!
Life in the sack
Is coming back..
Always a nice fave from the Reid brothers, a wondrous cover here in monochrome such as :
The sky above the port was the color of television, tuned to a dead channel.
Peace
I've got this feelin' and ive gotta say... Theres nothing holding me back from loving you. No matter how blue the sky is id be with you on any grey old day anyway.
I love this song ❤ It’s been on repeat. Such a beautiful song w/amazing vocals!
You guys are the best musicians🎶🎤👩🏻🦳
I think Chromatics likes to do covers of male sung alternative/new wave songs because Ruth lends a gentle, pleasant feminine voice to them. Songs like Ceremony (Joy Division) and this one by Jesus and Mary Chain. Well done! Plus Johnny Jewel like to do the classic guitar riffs.
Really amazing stuff! In loop since last Friday.
Disco Christmas for all your funky, festive needs
My little daughter loves that track!
❤️
Thank Christ for the Roadhouse...I wouldn't be enjoying music like this from Chromatics. This one is incredible!!
all hail lynch
@@ItaliansDoItBetterMusic damn right...i would love to have met him just once. Let's just hope that there is one more Twin Peaks and that Chromatics and Julie Cruise will return.
It's not from the chromatics. I hope you know this song is the jesus and mary chain's song.
I do like the vibe in this song, and as always, another great song guys.
Thank you.
I love this song!!!!
I’m so addicted to this song 🤩

Fantastic 🎼🎤🎧🎹🥁🎸💜💜💜
Beautiful work as always💓💓💓
i thought i was the only one still playing the original
daily but you guys were already over here
Was JUST listening to it wow
So Great .. all love .. 4 ever xx
One of my favorite songs right now. It’s just SO GOOD
I really like this, this outfit could do Blondie or The Pretenders no problem at all.
This song has no business going as hard as it does wtf 😩🌊
make more long tracks!
What meaning do you guys give to the lyrics if I may ask? I heard many things and it goes probably down to personal interpretation, but I always saw them as coming from a very dark corner: (serial) killer and prey. It would fit the tone of Closer to Grey imo. Kill for Love felt like made for a movie hunting down a killer, Closer to Grey feels like being there before and during the crime , very haunting and very, very Lynchian.
Cassandra it’s all about an existential crisis. Can’t get out of bed. I am like the clock on the wall.
It’s about death... it’s about realizing your own death...
I don’t think your perspective on the story line for the albums is wrong, In fact I didn’t even think about the story line connecting between albums, but that makes a lot of sense and I ‘see’ it now! ... but I would add that kill for love=CALIFORNIA=KHALIF=the head of the Islamic state... closer to grey=black & white checkerboard floor of the free Masonic occults... the story in closer to grey reminds me of the Egyptian afterlife... from the sound of silence like being the moment of death... and then the rest of the songs navigating the oceans of the afterlife from the east to the west...from your no good, closer to grey, light as a feather, move a mountain, touch red, whispers in the hall etc etc the entire album seems more inspired by middle eastern culture if anything... also each song is playing on a certain decade within musical history... the 60s,70s,80s,90s, etc also fusing genres and cultures... this seems more like traveling through the rock and roll hall of fame for American legacy within music ...it truly is a film for your ears...
chromatics turns my unu into an owo
👍
Who sang this before this awesome cover?
jesus & mary chain
is this a cover?

@@ItaliansDoItBetterMusic i just ordered the gate-fold 2LP, having only listened to this cover.
what's the sample?
there's no sample, but it's a cover of a jesus & mary chain song
