While I agree with what you're saying, as an old cypress fan from the 90s, this sounds like crap to me and nothing like old smooth Cypress. The beat is hella choppy and annoying horns they used. Nothing like muggs production or dope drum beats he uses. But whatever, since its new I guess everyone will praise it 😂

Cuz if so u would know where I'm coming from. This stuff is totally different and more poppy sounding, mainstream and commercialized. Sounds absolutely Nothing like their old beats and production, nothing. This has a new clubby sound to it and not classic at all. Selling out their sound to get new fans is how I see it

This entire record just flows together as a collective of songs, the interludes are top notch and segue
flawlessly in to the next song. It really is an experience and for the first listen, find a pair of headphones and a quiet, undisturbed place, and float with the elephants.
It comes a time when legends just make music for the love of making it. They're no longer hungry and need not prove anything to anybody.

The way Cypress Hill has managed to stay #1 in the game is by keeping it more than real , keeping it simple, these rappers now a days try so hard that the public loses interest, the same way Snoop Dogg still number one on his genre type of rap, he also keeps it simple, all day occurrences lyrics that people can identify with, no bullshit and not fkng with other people. That's mostly my playlist, Cypress Hill and Snoop(Lion) Dogg.

If people don't understand it it's not meant for their ears. This is honestly one of the greatest groups from the 80s and 90s! And had fun with it. I wish more artist would take risks and stop being so formulaic. Music is first and foremost to be entertaining but also creative and fun. There shouldn't be so many restrictions and rules. Just make music for people to enjoy.
Hey thats a great comment! I got into Cypress in 1993. I was not in the hip hop scene at all. I was in the mod scene but i came across their 1st album. And what hooked me most were all the samples. I knew almost all the songs DJ Muggs was using and it was great. They were a gateway fornme to grt into other hip hop tribe called quest pharcyde de la soul etc. But your comment is bang on.
