I can remember years ago waiting in line at the Ark in Ann Arbor, MI for a John Gorka concert. In front of me in line was a little boy with his parents who obviously had been listening to the troubadour all his young life. He was very excited to actually see him live in concert , when all of a sudden JG walked up carrying his guitar case. The little boy's jaw dropped and was beside himself to say hello to John. During the conccert, John would stop in the middle of a song and give the young fan a big smile and a wink. It was a very special Gorka moment showing how much he appreciated the little guy being in the audience.
I would love to see him again. i had the good fortune to catch him two years in a row in White River Junction, Vermont back in the 90's. Wow, whoever thought they'd ever say that term, "back in the 90's" huh? Great song, John!
He was the first of the Fast Folk Movement I rediscovered around 1980. What a talent, what a funny fellow. I'm not from New Jersey but I love the State- and Mr. Gorka's music.
I played this song live once and it got a great response from middle aged friends, nice work John! Keep on writing and entertaining...."You may need a break after this one..." HA

Gorka is probably one of the finest balladeers we have...
A real treasure...
John Gorka is fabulous! See him if you can.

John Gorka, I Love You! - Sue, native New Jerseyan, a Gross age 60.
Yeah, Minnesota born and bred here too...I love the fair, but tend to stay away from most of the food. You have to pace yourself. :)
The problem with this song is that I can't share it with anyone without risking them taking it personally.
"I used to end sets with this song...but I found I would lose people." Funny. Very autobiographical!
His delivery reminds me sooo much of Father Guido Sarducci!
I don't doubt it a bit. They sell anything deep fried on a stick. I know I'm from Minnesota and been to the fair a lot.
As the old Philly DJ would say, "Scraple; I won't eat anything with crap in the middle.
"Habbersett's Scrapple" ......it's kinda like 'Spam' , but without the health benefits !
As one question here, can you discuss 4 concerns about the processes associated with ageing, please.

So funny. So true. So ...sad
Get on with it too much yapping
