Love when you guys go outside od DLR. I lived in SoCal most of my 59 years... I miss it so much. My late wife and I loved Newport and after she passed, I flew home and we spread her ashes via small plane off of Newport. I will be home in Oct/Nov... Knott's Halloween Haunt on 10/28 and DL/DCA on Oct. 30th and Nov. 1st (with hoppers)
great video on balboa fun zone,the ferry,and the island....i grew up all around here.i used to take my kids on "bike rides" all over this area....(a "bike ride" is where you start in costa mesa,ride the bike trail to huntington,then down to newport,balboa,take the ferry to the island,etc.....and back. the only real way to get around newport,etc is on a bike or scooter...you will never get parking for a car down there... liked seeing the tiki is still afloat...had my prom on that boat...in 1978.
