I live in cowlitz county (right next to Wakiakum county) and I still pronounce skamokawa as "Scam-a-kah-wuh" just because it's funny. And I say whacky-ackum :)
Movoto Originals I always look forward to your videos! Suggestion: I would love to see some more reaction shots to how these things are really pronounced or what the slang terms actually mean.
Movoto Originals No problem. It's like I'm waiting for that pay off, and it never (or rarely) comes. I hope that makes sense. Keep up the good work! BTW, is Sam related to Ethan Embry (www.imdb.com/name/nm0256121/), because he looks just like him!
As a native to Washington, I can appreciate this. Should've had them try to say Issaquah, Suquamish, Klahanie, and/or Quillayute!
I grew up in Yakima. I love all the Native American culture in our state!
I've lived in Puyallup my entire life, and I work at a hotel. So I get people from all over America who can't pronounce my home town......
Tick Dickler same!
"If you don't live in Seattle or Yakima or Tacoma, GTFO, no one's going to be able to find you." Hey!! #Spokane
You should really do a Pronounce This: Oregon
I live in Skamokawa in Wahkiakum County. Some people call it "Walk Up And Kick 'Um County."
They aired this on q13 news this morning!
Two things stood out: 1) I've never heard of Skamokawa and I've lived in Washington almost my whole life, and 2) Why the heck did the guy know Yakima?
Yakima=Apples & wine
I live in Yakima and I was wondering the same thing! no one knows where in the hell Yakima is! :)
I've lived in WA for 10 years and am still learning the proper pronunciation for some of the towns. One day I'll master them... One day...

Brittany Hoirup I live there too, and people say "Pooh-Yallup"
IceyAbyss Or "Poo-Yay-Lup"
I always thought puyallup was easy but that's probably because I live there.

Willow Star They were all really tough... Thanks for watching, Willow!
Movoto Originals Willow is telling you that she is unable to see these. Come on now fix it! Your reply was kind of rude
Barbara Houser hi Barbara. I could see them, I just didn't guess any of the pronunciations correctly.
This is some of the worst pronunciation I have ever heard.
Do you live in a place that would stump us? Tell us about it in the comments!
Movoto Originals I live by a road in The Woodlands, Texas called "Kuykendahl" (Ker-Ken-Doll) :)
Michigan. Hamtramck, anyone? How about Ontanogan?

Kind of awesome that the one guy said Yakima. Didn't know that we are known out of state.
