I love the looseness and freedom of this piece. The basic shapes and contrast between dark color and light color is more important here than detail and precision. I admire your willingness to work together with your paint instead of trying to control it. You respect your paint, and your paint respects you back :)
This picture struck me as especially beautifull. I love citys at night and this colorfull representation just resonated with me. I always wonder if he sells his paintings...
one of my favorite things is how you build from very basic concepts, like a gradient background to blocking out dark shapes for the buildings; you take each step one at a time and build on the complexity. backgrounds have always been really hard for me, but i've been able to start to develop my skill by thinking about how shibasaki-sensei would break the idea down. thank you for your wonderful videos shibasaki-sensei! you're truly a gift!
I always learn a lot from your videos. Your watercolors always start out to look abstract but after a short period of time they turn into something recognizable. I love it.
I love how he paints with such intent. It’s always so simple from beginning to end but he manages to achieve these complex images and breathes life into them. His use of colors and shading is simply magnificent.
The sky always get me excited. The details in the night lights as well as in the windows. Its a very lovely painting! Very cool! I also appreciate your words, thank you! ❤
I love seeing paintings like this and how simple shapes and colours can create something so stunning to look at. Thank you for taking time out of your day to show your art! 😊
Watercolor by Shibasaki Your outdoor watercolors, The picture is so flavorful cool, You are the best watercolor painter, As a Korean watercolor artist, I commend your painting, I pray that good things always happen!
This is so inspiring - seeing how from simple brush strokes and a relaxed way of painting something this beautiful can emerge! I've always wanted to paint but feel really stressed about how it should look and fear failing. Watching this makes me remember how fun and relaxing painting can be. Thank you! Finding your channel has been a joy.
The atmosphere of your videos is soooooo pleasant. Your paintings carry the beauty of your personality, that's for sure. It's so peaceful to watch this and even though I don't speak Japanese, your speaking is also very soothing. Thank you so much for your videos!
I haven't used watercolours in a very long time but i think i will try painting a night city like this on the weekend. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and wisdom with us! You really help me find confidence to paint with watercolours! ♥
This is so soothing and calming. I appreciate the English captions! I never thought of using a hair dryer while doing watercolor painting. Thank you, sensei!
Thank you so much for sharing your gift with us. I cannot understand your lovely language but I hear your heart in your voice. Many blessings from Ireland. Jenni
ive been wanting to get back into doing watercolor desperately lately and your techniques are so inspiring. dropping the white paint to layer pastels over it feels like such a obvious thing but i never wouldve thought of it. i can't wait to try it out since it would solve so many of the basic technical issues that made me stop in the first place! Thank you for the amazing tutorial!
What a beautiful painting! I loved your use of the bright colors at the end. Even though you only added a little of the emerald green and pink, it made a big difference and the painting feels truly alive because of it. As expected of the master of watercolorpainting shibasaki-san ☺️
Thank you for this video, and your approach about painting a night landscape. Like 'Landscape of Fisherman Village' 5 months ago, I am fascinated by how you achieve the foreground results you do, with so little effort--it is remarkable!
“Don't limit yourself” Such a nice quote and lesson to learn! I'm always trying to push myself to be better ans take risks, to be more open to things and take soms impulses. By the way I love how calming your videos are. It also helps that I'm learning Japanese to explore my Japanese side! 💖💖
This looks manageable once you've done it and shown the outcome. If you just showed the picture, I would be too intimidated to try it. Thank you for sharing this, I am going to try it this weekend and keep trying until I get it right :) .
I used to hate gouache when I was in middle/high school, but I now see it as complementary to watercolor. It's usually a great addition if used well, especially for highlights! :)
So glad I found this channel. Its comforting to watch after a tiring day

I love the simplicity of this. I'm also getting better at simplifying structures! Thank you so much for your lessons! 😻
Stunning shibasaki Sensei, you make everything look so easy, I'll definitely try it 😍 ありがとうございます
*Incredible Feast For The Eyes!!* Loved the way you painted City in Night.
I love it, Sensei Shibasaki!!!

I have seen so many I'd like to buy!
I dont know how he makes it so perfect so simply! At first it's a few strokes but then it transforms into a beautiful masterpiece

SIMPLE AND EFFECTIVE!
....what a wonderful demonstration. Thank you for this. I have learned much from your demos. This particular one is stunning...so.much light....
I love your approach to this! it's so loose and gestural and it definitely inspires me to paint a cityscape, which I don't usually like to do
Beautiful art!!! Wonderful way of painting city lights, I'm gonna try this later. You are very generous with your tips, thank you for everything :)

I like to listen to him while drawing. Even tough I can't understand anything, his voice is really calming.

Amazing scenery. Looks simple but not for me. The result is so beautiful
I love looking at photos of cities at night, so when I saw that you painted one I just had to watch it
These videos always cheer me up. After a very bad day this beautiful cityscape made me feel much better, relaxed and more positive. Thank you 😊.
I was worried the smudging would look poor on my work but I followed your lesson. It looks wonderful. Thank you for the lesson!
This was a great reminder for me that simple shapes are fine to start from! Thank you for making this!
