I would say it's just their standard of beauty. I don't think their men are effeminate they just like a clean look to them as far as the women not being attractive I disagree. I think their women are beautiful but they tend to cast an overtly good looking guy and a normal girl next door girl. They do this so the female audience can fantasize they are the female lead and enjoy the movie more.

The director thinks we are all idiots. You got to just shake your head in the opening scene they the FL and can't swim. Yet, in the next scene, she is sitting in 1/2 meter of water and acts like she is about to die. The producers and directors are really so cheap they can't hide the fact that they are sitting on the bottom and yelling, "Save me!"

9/10 very good drama. The FL doesnt go back to the bad guy. Yay. He doesn't believe her and is a easily tricked by the bad half-sister and thus cant be the hero. Thankfully we have Shin Haonan who plays the Male lead. He does a great job. The FL is also a great actress. Well matched. Plot is good, pace is good, clothes good, locations good. I thought it was one of the better dramas. Why 1 point deduction? For the directing. In another drama Haonan is placed in many romantic, seductive "oops" moments with him doing kabe dons, etc. The alluring looks he gives are Ambrosia to the eyes of the beholder. Why this director didnt make use of that is beyond me. It goes in favs none the less
