For some reason I believe russo on this one. Just from what everyone says about jbl I think the brawl for all was made to knock jbl out of course in management he wouldn't tell him that
If JBL said it then Russo isn't lying. I find it interesting that JBL is calling people liars while saying he never said anything about Russo. JBL had his own show on the WWE Network and talked about Russo bankrupting WCW way back almost 10 years ago. They were actually talking about having Russo on that show.
WWE went through the roof when Russo was still there! He also wrote for TNA when they had their highest ratings ever. So, 2 companies had the highest ratings when Russo was head writer.
@PrecursorOrb1 Whoever was in charge of the safety harness is responsible for Owen's death. Not Vince Russo! As for the brawl for all, I will admit that was a bad idea. But part of being creative is doing things that are different. Sometimes they work, and sometimes they don't. But you give people more of what they want and less of what they don't want. Russo said he didn't do what he likes. It takes time to figure out what the audience wants. Unfortunately, WWF was the only place where the owner of the company protected him from politics. In WCW and TNA, he could never build up the way he was able to in WWF, because traditionalists would stop him before he could see things through.

except Russo pushed Austin, Jarrett, New Age Outlaws, Undertaker, HBK, AJ Styles, etc... JBL is making up reasons why he didn't get a push during the golden era of the 90's.
@GeneLasker3 That statement makes no sense. Undertaker, Austin, and HBK were already getting pushes before Russo was even a writer. I'm from Philly and The use of bro is used often but I never met someone who said it like Russo. It's over used constantly by him.
It's almost like Russo's entire career has been one massive overcompensation lol
Well yeah bro
Massive ratings bro.
Vince McMahon actually did ask Russo to come back a few years ago but he didn't want to pay him and Russo told him he wasn't gonna work for free and McMahon went ballistic over
How do you know?
Well the fact that he invited him back but didn't want to pay him should be a big clue lol They will pay anybody
If you really believe this nonsese then you are lost dude lmao
@@TL2354 Russo has read the email exchange on his podcast. He said he wanted Russo to be a "consultant" or something and acted like he would give him a "trial run" before he started paying him. Russo said no, then Vince wrote back an insane rant telling Russo he was an idiot not to take this great opportunity.
@adamkeller7749 no, you're right, we're only allowed to believe negative-Russo bias. NPC.
You can't take the Loud Texan out of JBL. That's like telling Big Show to pretend he's only 5'7.
That was Brotacular, Simply Brotastic, Bromazing! BOTHER!
5:30, that is a Clothesline From Hell to Russo right there.
You can cut 5 minutes out of this video just by removing the "bro"s
Fun fact, Steve Williams actually beat Dan Severn in an amateur wrestling match.
I love Bruce, but JBL has been a revelation for this podcast! I can't wait for every drop!
Can somebody please explain what Russo’s lie is here? He seems to have said with zero ambiguity that the brawl for all was his idea. He said he was inspired by something JBL admits he may have said. What is the lie? What would Russo gain by making up his reason for conceiving of the brawl for all if it still ends up being his idea in his recounting of events? People just look for reasons to trash Russo.
People tend to overlook the positive when it's mostly negative
cause russo specifically says he did it for someone to knock out bradshaw. if russo just said yeah i came up with it there be no issues. or if he said “bro the boys always talk about taking each other out so bro i thought to myself bro why not make that a thing bro”
@@iammaximumstupied Okay again how is any of this a lie though? If he's asked "why or how did you come up with the brawl for all?", shouldn't he explain why and not just say that he did indeed come up with it? You just said that if Russo said that he heard the boys talking about seeing who the toughest is and thought it'd be cool to put it on the show, that would have been okay. Well that's exactly what he did, only he named names instead of being vague. Doesn't that give what he's saying more credibility, especially when the name he names happens to be a blowhard who ADMITED TO HAVING POSSIBLY SAID WHAT RUSSO SAID HE SAID?
@@abt7217tc JBL is just mad because Russo exposed him for being wuss
The lie is that Russo said JBL was serious.
To be fair to Russo, he was successful in TNA. They crumbled the second he left.
If a business crumbles the second someone leaves, that someone didn’t do a good job.
This is true. Russo's TNA was good & built up an audience. For example the Main Event Mafia era. Then Hogan & Bischoff sucked the life out of the company lol.
@@Gluemn aww did I hurt you that badly? Must have really damaged that ego of yours if you’re responding to me in other comments outside of where we first crossed paths. Someone’s big mad. 😂
@@Gluemn I’ll give you the courtesy of explaining what I’m saying here. When you’re in any type of leadership or management role your aim should always to leave the place in a better state than it was when you first started, also have it set up to survive without you, if you’ve failed to do that, that’s not you doing your job. If you find that hard to understand, then what can I say?
@ of course you can set the next writer up, what kind of nonsense is that? The foundations should already be in place, if your future plans are strong enough they’ll be put in to motion. And no, nobody left for GT, Toriyama actually had a lot more in put than people realise. Now, I will grant you that changing head writers can have an impact going forward, we only have to look at the mess the was the latest Star Wars trilogy for that to ring true. Though again, if you’ve set things up strongly enough, there should be no rapid decline upon your exit.
It’s also amazing that you don’t understand that being the head of creative is a management role.
The Clothesline From Hell is still my favorite clothesline of all time. It looked gross. Honorable mention to the Buckshot Lariat.
Go search up Stan Hansen's Lariat.
He thought anyone who talked with a southern accent sounded stupid. This from the guy who cant go three words without saying the word Bro. It is just brutal to listen to.
He never said that. Vince McMahon is the one who didn't like southern accents
@zachary_attackery because you know more what would have been said backstage than Bradshaw who was there. He said Russo tried to change him too.
@@zachary_attackery Everybody says Russo couldn't stand the Southerners. Just listen to almost every Jim Cornette video about Russo, he has many stories like that. I think somebody told that he was in the room when Russo started complaining that having JR doing the commentary is going to make them sound like hicks, so they should replace him with a civilized person. Could've been Cornette, perhaps it was Bruce, can't remember.
Vince McMahon also had disdain for the southern accent because the competition at the time was dubya-C-dubya.
@@vanderful2397 who is "everybody"
For some reason I believe russo on this one. Just from what everyone says about jbl I think the brawl for all was made to knock jbl out of course in management he wouldn't tell him that
That doesn't make jbl a liar everything is pointing towards it being made for him so , like he said it paid for his house lol
@SasukesSharingan. I never Siad jbl lies about everything
The more I listen to John Bradshaw Layfield. The more I like him. As well as appreciate his character after the APA.
Guys having fun going in.
“Aaaawwww, come on, JBL. Vince Russo is a friend of mine.”
I watch JBL on Fox Business , he is a financial wizard, smart man
Have they explained where Bruce is at the moment?
Probably having a meeting with his lawyers.
@stephalan2866 been a while though

I can’t believe that Conrad went 12 minutes without eating
3:09 listen to JBL snickering in the background 🤣🤣
WWE went through the roof when Russo was still there! He also wrote for TNA when they had their highest ratings ever. So, 2 companies had the highest ratings when Russo was head writer.
He was also the guy that made the brawl for all concept and the blue blazer gimmick for Owen Hart.
1. Austin, Rock, HHH and Taker are why it went through the roof. 2. It's not hard to have your highest ratings when you don't get ratings to begin with bro lol
@warhawkofchogoris8555 Those guys were already there. Yes, they are great, but Russo had something to do with the success.
@@warhawkofchogoris8555the previous creative team had those same talents on the roster. Russo outperformed the team with Cornette and Prichard on it. In both WWF and TNA for that matter. He took their jobs in both companies.
Russo wrote WWE during it's most culturally significant time ever. Russo doesn't like in-ring wrestling but yet he outperformed people who love wrestling, and took their jobs. Like Prichard and Cornette. Of course wrestling people hate him and reject him lol.
I mean most of his ideas were pretty good. And I mean they kinda worked I mean look at TNA and WWE. It only went bad when other people got involved TNA as an example. The problem with him though. Is that he seen it through his eyes as something like the walking dead. An that is somewhat true but it’s also a bit more than that.
Ecw was doing all of this stuff, Russo was just copying it. It was 90s pop culture. He was in the right place at the right time.
Russo not being welcomed back is a big reason why the product everywhere sucks right now. Russo was the most successful writer in wrestling history, and the dorks like Cornette hate him because he proved their stupid ideas wrong. Every idea Cornette had during the attitude era flopped. The wrestling world desperately needs Vince Russo to write a show again.
Lol thanks for the laugh
@@pengyzin8668 lol thanks for having no counter for an obvious statement of fact

Russo took Cornette & Prichard's jobs in both WWF and TNA, and out-performed Cornette & Prichard both times. Sorry dorks.
JBL couldn’t sound anymore bitter if he tried. Get over it dude its been 30 years
Where is Bruce
Rehab
I wanted to hear him say I'm a wrestling god. Was so funny how he would say that coming out in the limo and cowboy hat.
The part that confused me was Conrad said to JBL what Russo said, as if JBL would call it a lie. JBL said it, he just now claims it was semi sarcastic. I stick up for Russo sometimes, simply because he kept everyone on the card relevant. Ed gets zero credit too. Pinning the southern accent thing on Russo is fine, but the other Vince is who hated the accent more.
I wish this rule applied to all people of unsavory character, bro.
Love When JBL keep it real 🔥
DR Death wasn’t old per say but he had football, college wrestling and Japanese wrestling miles on his body
The fact that people are still hating on Russo to get over with the marks despite how the fact that the wrestling business dying is ridiculous. Modern day wrestling fanboys make Disney shills look like Estein in comparison.
"dying"
Fed is literally drawing more money than ever
Sit down 😂😂😂😂
It's funny he happily talks about how tough Blackman is
Russo's from Long Island, 'nuff said.
Take a drink every time Russo says bro in that quote 🍺😵💫
That's not surprising to hear this from JBL at all. I wonder how many times Dan "The Beast" Severn and Ken Shamrock laughed out loud when JBL said jokingly "don't try that UFC shooting shit on me it won't work" knowing full well that they'd could kill him if they wanted to.
Isn’t it ironic that he says that about JBL and JBL is in the Hall of Fame and no wrestling company in the United States wants Russo
The mufug dojo is no joke.
Ridding the world of giant robot monsters.
I have never understood why tv execs hate Southern accents. As a 'northerner'....i love Southern accents and always have.
except Russo pushed Austin, Jarrett, New Age Outlaws, Undertaker, HBK, AJ Styles, etc... JBL is making up reasons why he didn't get a push during the golden era of the 90's.
@GeneLasker3 That statement makes no sense. Undertaker, Austin, and HBK were already getting pushes before Russo was even a writer. JR also stated that Russo said himself that Southern accents make people seem uneducated. If you can find something Russo personally said as a quote to the contrary from that era....not afterwards....then please present it. I have a feeling you can't.
I feel like Conrad made that statement up. There's not nearly enough "bro's" to be a real Russo speech.
JBL was a bully who literally assaulted people under the guise of "the code." Morality in wrestling and who is accepted is amazing to behold.
I'm concerned about Conrad rocking back and forth
Certain facial expressions it almost looks like Dennis Quaid
has JBL talked about "Razor" Rick Titan?
Wow... the "Brawl for All" was originally supposed to be exactly like the OG UFC (no rules) and would've had prime Ken Shamrock, Dan Severn, & Steve Blackman in it? That... would have been fucking amazing. More people would've gotten hurt though. It certainly wouldn't have main Dr. Death a top guy in WWF though, he would've gotten destroyed.
This is my favourite version of JBL. Just appears in a duster, Clothesline from Hell, leave. 🤠 Mysterious Magnum sound
JBL is wrong, Russo IS welcomed back somewhere because he's once again working behind the scenes for Rocky Mountain Pro in Colorado, so guess what?JBL needs to make a retraction.
We're good friends i haven't see him in 20 years 😂
its bro per minute lol
Where's Bruce Prichard?
I hate that every podcast with a star has this guy in it. I despise Conrad.
I love the Bobby Jaggers reference
So stupid what they did to Bart Gunn as punishment
I’m from Sapulpa Oklahoma and Dr. Death was a legend here. He was one bad*** dude
A person that says “bro” that many times is lying
I still like listening to Russo. I know he gets sh*t but he does still have some nuggets of good creative when he reviews Raw/SmackDown with Bin Hamin and Stevie Richards. I got no dog in the hunt. Cornette, Konnan, Bully, and Disco are my go toos as well. All their insight is entertaining as well. Plus, McMahon was behind and signed off on the Brawl for All as well. Austin has also had Russo on his podcast and those were some damn good conversations. Also, TNA is still around. Time Warner wanted to get rid of WCW. Bischoff even said that.
I like this Bradshaw. Just could Not stand Jbl because i was so pissed 😡 Bradshaw wasn't the champ 🏆 after all those years. Bradshaw was Drew McEntire back then. So imagine they took Drew and made him some rich heel 👠. No!!!!! Fuck No!!! Bro could of been the next Stone Cold and they took it from us. 😢
Ken Shamrock in his prime would of stomped McGregor. He would of fought Jon Bones (They didn't have weight class) and pry beat Bones. Joyce Gracie was amazing but, his gym picked the rounds and contestants. So when Ken makes it beating 4 guys to face Joyce in the finals, Ken had faced the baddest 4 guys they could put in front of him to stop him from facing Gracie which, Gracie Shamrock is 1 of if not the Greatest fight ever. So yeah, Shamrock ☘️ wasn't no joke
There is no point in judging Russo based on the Brawl For All.
Judge him for the Survivor Series Deadly Games
If you somehow managed to stop Russo from saying bro, every statement he would make would be 30 words shorter
If the man didnt contribute then why was on creative in the first place.
"BRO." - Vince Russo
If Conrad was in a locker room he'd b whistling stranger in paradise or it's raining men.
