    Why learn Java?
    Java is a general-purpose, class-based, object-oriented computer programming language that was designed by James Gosling at Sun Microsystems in 1995.
    Key Highlights of Java:
    Platform Independent: This allows programmers to develop applications that can run on any operating system.
    Usability of Java: Java is most widely used programming language. It is present everywhere. It really doesn't matter which domain you are working in, you will surely come across Java sooner or later!
    Open Source: The good news is that Java is available for free! All the development tools and the environment (JRE & JDK) that is used to develop Java applications are absolutely free of cost.
    Android: Irrespective of the fact that you are tech savvy or not, most of us are badly bitten by the Android bug! Android is in great demand today and fortunately you need Java for Android development. Hence, the importance of Java has increased even more.
    Hadoop: Hadoop is one of the most trending framework for processing Big Data. It has been designed and developed in Java.
    In spite of having a tough competition on the server side from Microsoft and other companies, Java is doing extremely well on mobile platforms, thanks to Android! It has also been the primary language for Hadoop Developers.

    • @edurekaIN
      @edurekaIN  5 лет назад +1

      For a single statement it will remain same, but if you want to group more than one statement in the if block then you have to use curly braces.

    I am also confused with if and switch case statements.. Cld you help me?

    • @edurekaIN
      @edurekaIN  6 лет назад

      Hey Padmakshi, I'm assuming you know what is if-else ladder is switch. The switch is basically a substitution of long else if ladder. The execution is almost similar. Using switch instead of a very lengthy else if ladder reduces execution and is more efficient.
      Hope this helps!

    here he said that there is a security just because of eliminating the concept called pointers and if we have to give our code to any one, we will give in the form of byte code.but later he also said that if we have a byte code, then its very easy to convert it to machine level code and run it.then in this case how can he describe as if it is secure.i don't understand this sir.could you make that statement right if possible?

    • @edurekaIN
      @edurekaIN  5 лет назад

      Hey Akhil, "By not allowing pointers, Java effectively adds another level of abstraction to the programmer. No support for the pointer makes Java more secure as the pointers are used to point to memory location or used for memory management that loses the security as we use them direct. For more info, you can refer here: javax0.wordpress.com/2016/01/06/pointers-in-java/"
      Hope this helps!

    hello sir, i am beginner to java, i have a doubt about java, what the difference between java ,core java and java script? and in above 3 which is helpful to get placement? please clarify my doubt sir, thank you.

    • @edurekaIN
      @edurekaIN  6 лет назад +1

      Hey Chandu! Java is an OOP programming language while Java Script is an OOP scripting language. Java creates applications that run in a virtual machine or browser while JavaScript code is run on a browser only. Java code needs to be compiled while JavaScript code are all in text. That's the basic difference between the two. If you are looking to start your career in JAVA then, do check out our certification program for java here : www.edureka.co/search/Java
      Certifications go a long way in telling your recruiters that you are really serious about your career. The live project at the end of the course will give you hands-on experience in Java which is something that recruiters are looking for. You can drop in your contact details here (we won't make the post public) and one of our expert will get in touch with you. Hope this helps. Cheers :)

    after declaring data type can we give values and also i want that to be represented in table format can that be done

    • @edurekaIN
      @edurekaIN  5 лет назад

      Hey Yamini, "Hi,
      It is possible to specify the data type and assign the values at the same time. You just have to write e.g: int a=10, b=20; etc. Also, you can easily represent the variable name and value in tabular format by using syso for reference and concatenate it with the value."
      Hope this helps!

    What are literals, tokens, escape sequences and identifiers?

    • @edurekaIN
      @edurekaIN  6 лет назад

      Hey Padmakshi, "Java Literals are syntactic representations of boolean, character, numeric, or string data. Literals provide a means of expressing specific values in your program.
      Tokens are the various Java program elements which are identified by the compiler. A token is the smallest element of a program that is meaningful to the compiler. Tokens supported in Java include keywords, variables, constants, special characters, operations etc.
      Escape sequence, in general, is used to signal an alternative interpretation of a series of characters. In Java, a character preceded by a backslash (\) is an escape sequence and has special meaning to the java compiler.
      Identifiers are the names of variables, methods, classes, packages, and interfaces. Unlike literals they are not the things themselves"
      Hope this helps!
