Afternoon Delight was done by Starland Vocal Band and came out in the 70’s. I’m 63 and I remember it was #1 in 1976 when I started high school. I actually did comment in that video about the song.
I was born in 1990 and even I know the song lol. I learned about it by watching vh1 and MTV. Where they had those ""I love the (insert decade)"" series.
Maybe Yumbra double clutched because she was sorry for eating some of the first clutch? Imagine your an unborn baby snake, you come down to start developing, your mom eats you, you try again, and you get the same mom.
@DrachenGothik666 it's a pun on her name, similar to Om Nomelet (RIP), in a recent video they asked for nickname suggestions since she ate her eggs like Om Nom. "Yumbra" was my suggestion and I *haven't* heard what they decided on so I'm using until they tell us. *Edit*
“Afternoon Delight” is a 70’s song. When I was a little girl I asked my dad what afternoon delight was? He said it was Banana Pudding, which was his favorite dessert. For years I believed him. I sure miss my dad.
Yeah I would love an update on the mice/rats and the enclosure they have as well. Was super interesting to see them build up the racks in an older video.
Ironically I watched their video again of where they got their new rat and mice racks. I was feeling a bit nostalgic for some of the really old videos but that one popped up and I watched it again to get my mouse/rat pup fix too 😊 But yes!!! Definitely would love to see how that stuff is holding up and progressing!!!
Oh, that's almost the same as in Swedish! We have the word "daggmask" that translates to "dew worm" in English. Also for the reasoning that the worm comes out when its wet 😊
That's actually a misconception! Earthworms/rainworms breathe through their skin, and can absorb oxygen from water and air equally well. They come out when it rains because the sun is dangerous to them (can dry them up) so nighttime and rainy days are the only times they can come up to eat vegetation. The rest of the time they subsist on roots!
Double clutches scare me after omnomlette passed away from double clutching. :( It takes a lot of resources out of these hoggies. Girls you're awesome, but take a break!! Hope these ladies rest up after doing all that hard work. :)

Emily, can you come down to South Texas and do your rain dance? We’re in a drought and our lake levels are very low. You could just travel the country to everywhere that’s in a drought and help out. Bonus, you can go herping.
Fun fact: as another comment mentions, the smell of rain is called "petrichor". Well, humans are able to detect rain from miles away (with some help of the wind)! Basically, when the water hits something, tiny air bubbles disperse into the air that often include the chemical geosmin, which smells like earth. Human noses are very sensitive to this chemical and can smell it in the air at concentrations as low as .4 ppb!! (for reference, 1 ppm is a general concentration of an odor humans can smell) TL;DR Humans can smell petrichor, or the smell of rain, from miles away and at concentrations as low as 1ppb!
Really hoping that Umbra and JoyJoy will stay healthy after laying such a massive clutch of eggs; it’s crazy that they both double-clutched, but I guess Umbra didn’t want to go down as Omnomlette 2: Electric Boogaloo.
I'm reminded of the time my friends and I did a rain dance during a community camping trip. We summoned a storm powerful enough to flood us all out, had to cut the event early lol. Do not mess with the weather!
I finished watching the video and got a notification saying thunderstorms are possible in the next few hours. I think that summoning ritual worked a bit too well 😆
A close family friend of mine's mother was the one who gave her pie recipes to the family that owned the dam store by Rapidan Dam. That was their house that went into the river. for anyone who doesn't know or is curious, "petrichor" is the smell of rain falling on dry soil
Petrichor will smell differently in different places.
In Doctor Who they described it as the smell of dust after rain.
@@KaemeaOver here in South Texas, my dad used to say it smelled that a Corn Field every time it would rain 😮
It's actually the bacteria in the soil causing the smell which is why it smells different depending on where you are.
