Its amazing h610 board is able to run cpu at max turbo frequency throughout the cinebench test
but the score is not that impressive

@@KLGamers that's because H610 boards and H510 with the previous gen have very little heatsinks, there meant to be a low efficiency kinda board.
the i5 12400 is a 6 Core, they rate at 65 watt TDP, but that's not a real world estimate, that's an average rating of the chip being at idle and doing basic stuff like browsing and watching videos. once you start doing other things like gaming, productivity work, video editing etc, that's where the wattage changes and fluctuates. they do have a certain amount of power delivery, but very little to cool the board down if you start getting into some heavy workloads.
so the most efficient build you can do with this board is something like this.
example 1 PC build
Intel Pentium G7400
Graphics Radeon RX 6400 low profile
8 by 8 16gb low profile ram at 2400mhz
power supply, 450 watt 80 plus
example 2 PC build
Intel Core i3 12100
Graphics, Radeon RX 6500 XT
8 by 8 16gb 2666mhz ram
power supply, 500 80 plus
@Raiyan no it won't cause a performance drop, but you also won't be able to get the most out of it since H610 only has so many phases and vrm for power delivery. H610 is limited by the 65 watt TDP limit, so therefore you'll still get some good performance, you just won't get the full benefit because it's a board primarily for efficiency. but it's mainly the board partners and Intel, you'd have to get a different board to take advantage. i don't know why they do it like that, but in order to make cheaper budget boards something has to give. my only issue with H610 is the fact you can't do anything with Ram, B660 you get that option and Z690 has it, but H610 for whatever reason you have no control. i get there cheap boards, but i feel like your getting ripped off a little bit. i say that because they know people with limited budgets are gonna look at them, not knowing whether your getting a board that's a good value. that's where i still say if you can find a reasonably priced B660 board close to 100, I'd atleast take a look, but if not then H610 is what it'll have to be. i been in that position before, my first actual pc i bought the cheapest i could afford. but i was so happy about it at the time it didn't matter. over time that's when i learned more.

I bought the exact same components, mobo gb h610 sh2, i5 12400, zotac rtx 3050. I am waiting the mobo to arrive tomorrow next and then will build my first pc on my old case (prebuilt shitty case) wish me luck and ty for the video, somewhat useful but the cable management scared me a lot. I don't have these leds so I hope it will be easier. Cya

@KL Gamers maybe default tdp limit is set to 45watt? 12100 have 89w at boost. It turns out that the motherboard will not even cope with it? Could it be memory timings? Because the cpu frequency was at its maximum when all cores were loaded. Very interesting result, could you make more tests of this board?

By using H610M, would there be any compromises to the overall quality/performances of the PC Build???
A bit late but generally no. Using a lower chipset usually means you loose out on some M.2 or PCIE connectors or USB or fan connectors, if you dont use those then it doesnt affect you.
Also, motherboard manufacturers will cheap out on the VRM, but that just mean it cant supply enough power for i7/9 CPUs, if you are building with a non-k i5 or i3 in the 1st place then it will perform the same as when it is on a high end board, i have not seen motherboard that cheap out so much that it cant run an i3 properly

Accord Techspot the best H610 for i3, i-5 is Asus Prime H610M-A.

I would say no. Its support 3200MHz ram as does B660.. But you cant overclock it over there, but it does not give that much extra performance anyway. Maybe if the VRM on H610 makes the cpu throttle or does not allow the cpu to use as much power maybe. I myself hava B660 with 12600K

H610 = basic (usually 2 RAM slot 1 M.2 slot , B660 is better (usually 4 RAM slots, 2 M.2 slots, some model have WiFi)
Hello from Turkey! I bought the exact build a week ago! The first 3 days the build worked perfectly. But yesterday, it started to have problems when I want to power on. I checked your video if any cable is at the wrong place but no, the cables are exactly like yours. The problem is: when I press the power button, the system turns on for like 0.5 seconds and turns off. The lights and fans also turns on and goes off in 0.5 seconds. Can you please help me?

It does not seem to have heatsinks on VRM so its probably not a good idea anyway.
@Raiyan VRM is voltage regulator module. Its the modules that deliver power to your cpu. No ram seems kind of poibtless to have heatsinks on for most parts. Maybe DDR5 7000MHz need them, I am not sure.

Something must be wrong with your build, cause in cinebench it only draws like 46watt, and it give you score worse than i7 7700k which it would easily beat, aswell as the 11400 also beat this build.

If you wanna upgrade later you mean? Get a board with good VRM and heatsinks, so it can deliver power to your next cpu. Best cooler for a 12400F, well i use a EVO212 Black edition RGB for my 12600k, and that would probably be great for 12400f, or any $20-30 cooler actually.

@@LiegeMaximo Just get a decent H610 and you will be fine. Save the cash, or spend it on something else to the computer like extra ram. Check some reviews before buying. I guess MSI have nice boards this generation, they seem to beef it up with the VRM:s even on cheaper cards. But do a search on the motherboard on youtube before buying, and try to watch atleast 2-3 reviews before.
