We moved runners around and put cardboard under them so leaf joints couldn't root. If they did potatoes form many many more but size of pencils, not roots. Many blessings everyone.
I did that last summer. But they grew through the cardboard.
@@sonnyamoran7383 oh. L. Need heavier cardboard or More layers. And Earth worms seem to love eating cardboard. Many blessings everyone.
Uggh i have about 35 extra plants!!! Many blessings everyone.
Sweet potato vines are so good in stir fry! 💚
Do you sell your produce? Or do you preserve it all? I would love to know how you preserve everything. Your gardens are simply gorgeous and very productive. I love it all!
Your sweet potatoe slips are very healthy. Thank u for sharing.
U are welcome
I can’t wait to eat some!
That goat is eyeing your sweet potatoes. Thanks, I was wondering yesterday if I can still plant mine as they’re sitting in the house.
❤❤❤
I throw mulch on top of my runners, especially early in the season. They root and make more sweet potatoes. If you have a long growing season like here it's basically doing a second planting.
Very informative. Thank you and happy growing
You mean wood ashes? Blessings everyone.
Yes, potash is wood ashes.
@@meanqkie2240 lol. Took a while to figure that out. Many blessings everyone, everywhere.
Ever tried those purple sweet potatoes aka ube? They are delicious and can be made into deserts.
Just wondering. Do you sell vegs? Many blessings all.
Great demonstration and tips ❤😊
I planted some sweet potatoes in a 4x4 raised bed about 2 weeks ago. Wish I had this knowledge about planting in the correct depth before I did mine because I don't think mine are planted deep enough so I will try to plan some in a pot container hopefully this time they'll have more depth. Great info as usual. Do you have any Scotch bonnet pepper seeds and callaloo from 2022 season I only saw 2021 in your Etsy store
You can always go in and mulch the ones in your 4x4 raised bed. Just keep then covered especially if you start to see potatoes peeking out. They should not be exposed to sun at all. We actually sold out of scotch bonnet and callaloo seeds from 2021 during last year. The seeds we have for sale are from 2022 growing season. We didn't realize we had a year in the listing so I make sure we change that.
Talk about runners how are your other mellon type runners like watermelon cantaloupe?
We did not plant melons this year. It looks like it was a good call because our weather has not been great for melons at all either. They love heat and we've been experiencing more like spring/fall weather. Some mornings we need a jacket to go out and do morning chores.
Can you mulch slips with pine needles?
Have you ever had a problem with sprayed hay/straw?
Hello, amateur gardener here. My tiny space has very little sunlight, and when it does, it is hot and bright. Anyway, I was going to ask why not plant a potato straight? I did and after 4 mouths, no potatoes harvested. I tried again with slips to see if it's not just because of poor photo-period. Could I have your opinion, please?
Hey
Hey Hope!
Thanks for information👍
Can you use you cow manure
