This seems huge, especially from the point of being a really easy hub for information for activists! I have a question, though, which is - is this going to cover general principles and techniques that businesses use and apply worldwide? Or is it going to be specifically tied to current US law? The reason for asking is that the technical details of consumer protections are quite different in, for example EU countries. An example of this is that in the EU, there is no equivalent to the Magnusson-Moss Warranty Act and companies can invalidate warranties for any reason they feel like, _but_ consumers have a set of "statutory rights" that are separate to the warranty and that the company has to honor.

Ive had a similar idea. Main issue is manpower, but i love that you've taken the initiative. One day, we should have a browser extension that warns users about these companies. Your wiki would be amazing to that.
shoutout to you Louis, i appreciate you sir, the time u take to wake people up about getting fkd. like we don't own our house, we lease yearly, same with our cars. this country has done a 180 on what it was built on.
This is a great idea and I know this will take off . I think the average person may not care, but a wiki like this will be perfect for journalist and for other people to spread the word to normies. As well as publicly shame companies. I hope you assemble an awesome team of volunteers to make this happen!
Louis, I can see your project being something that is not just American, but global. There are several companies in my country that are taking anti-consumer attitudes and there is no centralized place to identify which companies they are, and also to know the good companies and product lines, the only way to make pressure against these companies is hurting the profit, there is no other way. Please, get ready and host this site somewhere where you will not be the target of lawsuits. Another thing, I think it would be interesting to have a score for each company, taking into account the size of the product line and also the niches in which it operates. It was something that crossed my mind a few days ago (to have a centralized place to see who is against and who is in favor of the right to repair), I thought "wow, what if Louis headed this" and you came up with this today, I am so happy. I can't stand these companies making disposable and irreparable products anymore and the worst thing: everything is starting to be rented and you no longer own anything.
I know you took a couple calls with my trying to get MacBooks you didn't support at the time, but I definitely will be following a lot of this and reporting such things where I can. Thank you for taking the first step.
Another good data point to track is the newest, or latest model vehicle you can own from every manufacturer that doesn’t have tracking and data collection in it. And other such useful information for consumers. Hopefully Louis sees this, or someone working on the wiki does Thank you Louis and associates for all the work you are doing and will do, to make the world a better place.
It would be nice to have an easily accessible data base of every TOS that has been issued over the past 10 years for all the big tech companies and social platforms. Use some AI to get comparison charts of what is actually changed it each incremental iteration of the TOS's. I once started collecting Apple's a few years ago and realized how quickly they try to disappear any old TOS's once a new one is issued. The amount of knowledge that disappears daily or is retroactively changed without any footnote or documentation of it is kinda wild. There may be places to access them that I do not know about so I really appreciate the work you are doing to make them easily accessible to people.
Wow, things have changed. Most people buy without even thinking of long term use. The old school thinkers like me always look at something to last 50 years. That is why companies get away with these terms. It will be a struggle to get a big load of people on board. But I hope you can do it. Keep doing what you do.......
On why/how people can not care about an issue and/or throw shade at people that try to talk to them about an issue until it affects them personally: Sympathy is when someone understands another person's emotional state because they've had a common experience and have experienced that emotional state themselves. Empathy is the ability to understand another person's emotional state without actually going through the same thing themselves. It's like an emulator for emotions. Most people aren't capable of empathy. Some people aren't even capable of sympathy. Some people are capable of these, but they can't bear the burden of it and so they develop self-deluding tactics like throwing shade or finding excuses to invalidate others to spare themselves from caring. This is an energy conservation tactic, like laziness, that kicks in when we start to burn out and can become a habit, or even a personality trait. The issues you bring up are so wide spread that they effect everyone eventually. It would benefit everyone that is on the receiving end of consumer exploitation to get behind any effort to make improvements here. But they have to become aware of the problem first. They have to be able to contextualize the problem, and have the humility to admit that they've been cheated. Sadly, many are just too worn down to figure these things out for themselves, or even to able to accept it when it's pointed out to them. Thank you for trying to break through to people on these issues. Even if this is all just a way to blow off steam after having dealt with these issues yourself for years, I think you are having an overall positive impact. I'll keep following the effort and pitch in when I can. These people have p*ssed in our collective cornflakes for far too long.
Didn’t notice a new video came out. Just wanted (again) to say thank you for everything you do against these evil corps. Anytime I have spare I’ll be sure to contribute to the wiki! I’d be happy to register to if this means there can be audit trails for what is edited by who.
I noticed you (or somebody) has already provided an article on Ubisoft shutting down "The Crew" after the terms of the sale. It's ok to deactivate multiplayer after a decade or so (server space isn't cheap, especially an entire franchise) but my biggest point of contention with this was that physical copies cannot easily be resold as the game ITSELF now has practically zero value. Nobody should expect a CD or DVD to have an artificial expiry date.
I cannot wait to use this website is going to be so helpful. I wish there were more wikis on companies for stuff like this especially in the media industry that constantly gaslight consumers that X company is fine as they take $20,000 to say that.

Thank you for being you. When I first found your show I would listen to your rants as you fixed computers and then sometimes I would listen to you as I fell asleep. Which was also awesome. I also love planes and so repair and plane talk together, and finding random things that hold shapes together- well, that’s awesome, and I’ve recently heard of another group that does this. It all just sounds FUN more than anything. And oh yeah, USEFUL.
Thank you for your offer. I accept!
Ive had a similar idea. Main issue is manpower, but i love that you've taken the initiative.
One day, we should have a browser extension that warns users about these companies. Your wiki would be amazing to that.
I very rarely comment on videos, but this one is for the algorithm. Hope as many people as possible will see this!
Thank you!!!
Glad to see you shine so much for all to see the shadows of life.
shoutout to you Louis, i appreciate you sir, the time u take to wake people up about getting fkd. like we don't own our house, we lease yearly, same with our cars. this country has done a 180 on what it was built on.
Thank you for all you do buddy. You’re giving voice to the voiceless
YT hasn't shown me your videos in a while - I'm glad they chose to show me this one!
This is a great idea and I know this will take off . I think the average person may not care, but a wiki like this will be perfect for journalist and for other people to spread the word to normies. As well as publicly shame companies. I hope you assemble an awesome team of volunteers to make this happen!
we need people like you in government!
FOX will call him woke and that'll be the end of him.
This is great, i hope this gets the attention it deserves and more. Thank you Louis
30 second into the video and I'm in! this is AWESOME!
I can't understate just how lucky we are to have a guy like Louis on our side
for someone allegedly high on illicit substances, louis's rants are onto something
A treasure - wishing him good health
Aww, Clinton. Louis's step cat is cute too.
I know you took a couple calls with my trying to get MacBooks you didn't support at the time, but I definitely will be following a lot of this and reporting such things where I can. Thank you for taking the first step.
Thank you for this valuable service. I made an account and will do my best to support you. Louis, you are a hero!
If anyone can pull this off, it is you. Godspeed
Brilliant idea. I'm in. Not sure how I'm going to contribute, but I'll back this as much as I can.
You rock, dude. You are doing great and important work for everyone.
Another good data point to track is the newest, or latest model vehicle you can own from every manufacturer that doesn’t have tracking and data collection in it. And other such useful information for consumers.
Hopefully Louis sees this, or someone working on the wiki does
Thank you Louis and associates for all the work you are doing and will do, to make the world a better place.
Thank you Louis!!!
Louis I will definatly support this. Churr
Wow, things have changed. Most people buy without even thinking of long term use. The old school thinkers like me always look at something to last 50 years. That is why companies get away with these terms. It will be a struggle to get a big load of people on board. But I hope you can do it. Keep doing what you do.......
On why/how people can not care about an issue and/or throw shade at people that try to talk to them about an issue until it affects them personally:
Sympathy is when someone understands another person's emotional state because they've had a common experience and have experienced that emotional state themselves.
Excellent! Let's do this!
You've inspired me to create my own home server and own my shit again. I'm in.
Good luck Louis. We all wish you success
Keep going louis you are awesome! Its so refreshing knowing there are people out there fighting this dystopian bullshit
Hopefully this will wake most people up to how ownership is being eroded, and also activate them to fight against it.
Just joined the Adaxum presale-this is a project that stands out from the crowd.
amazing idea and this would really change everything because you can just look up the companies before buying and anyone can go and contribute
