That little boy and girl together, outside, are the absolute custest, brightest, and cleverest little kids amongst all of these cute, bright and clever little kids. Thank you for this incredibly sweet, nostalgic video.
The kid with the coat hood on is so fast at coming up with answers to his plan and must have a good imagination for him to pop out answer after answer on the spot fast.
Love how the girl definitely had no intention of taking her brother with her!😂 I love their accents. I have trouble telling Lancashire from Yorkshire sometimes since I'm from the US.
@@algrant5293 Yeah I understand about the rivalry thing, so if I ever get to go I won't say that part, lol. I'm interested in accents in general, but the northern England and Scottish are the most interesting for me.
I wouldn't worry. I'm from Lancashire and can't always tell the difference, it's not a sudden change of accent at the border so much as a smooth transition. Accents vary more within each county than between neighbouring towns on the border. Add to that accents are steadily becoming less distinct. A lot of folk, especially younger and more middle-class, have a generically Northern accent that could be from either place with only subtle hints of anything more specific.
@@georgio101 Yeah I'm from North Carolina, and it's sort if the same thing here. All southern accents sound similar but there are many regional differences as you have there. Here in NC we have the mountains, the piedmont, and the coastal areas which all differ somewhat. I'm from the piedmont which is in the central part. When I moved farther east, the people had different sayings and pronunciation differences. For example, where I would say "He wasn't going", here many people would say "He wont going." I'd never heard that, living about 2 1/2 hours west of here! Some coastal people have a vaguely English or Scottish sounding accent.
The little boys in the classroom were also adorable, how they were excitedly talking about making a Rocket out of the wood in his dad’s shed, then saying they could make it as big as this room
i know every generation talks about the last generation as being better. but honestly. look at the spoilt brats, the non binary, the stop oil, the world in general today, it really has gone to sht! and a big part of it is the internet. which (despite all the good things such as watching videos like these) - is a place for people to preach, demand and influence. (cant even say he or she anymore these days)
I know right? It sounds like it was written by AI trained on Piers Morgan footage 🤣 Heaven forbid the younger generation for being politically engaged and defy social convention like a bunch of goddamn hippies. It's not like the sixties when- ...oh.
It's all well and good to defy social conventions until enough people start to do the same, your society declines, and it starts to sink in why we had those social conventions in the first place...
Only in the major cities, mostly. In 1969 0.5% of the population was black. I was the same age as these kids at the time and I had never met a black person in real life until 1974 and it was 1978 before I met another one. I grew up in Wiltshire and everyone in my school was white. Even today, after 30 years of mass-immigration over 80% of the population is white and only 4% is black (2021 Census).
"Pluto is ever so far away." That was awesome
A smart girl!!
I laughed so much at " a pair of gloves and an odd one!"... classic!

The innocences is so wonderful and it just makes me smile.
Welcome to the wonderful world of a child's imagination.
not much far away from todays children with all the access to internet
These kids were actually able to say "Uranus" correctly without giggling. They don't make 'em like they used to.
Brilliant, I am the same age, different time, and I am glad I lived it.

You'll find that in northern England people actually talk to each other which tends not to be the case in the south
This was pretty cool. Cheers!
The blonde boy next to the girl sounds Fred Dibnah 😂
well he was from Bolton like these kids
Kid at 2:21 is adorable. Also cooking and house work 🤣🤣🤣
The little boys in the classroom were also adorable, how they were excitedly talking about making a Rocket out of the wood in his dad’s shed, then saying they could make it as big as this room

Those kids would be grandparents today...
ME! 😂👸👑🤴
😊back when kids had imaginations
I wonder, if the wee Boomer knew at the time that there was indeed a Moon-coloured cheese, whether this would alter his assessment 😁
❤❤❤❤❤
A lot of these kids are 60+ or very near to 60 now
ACE!
I am 9 this year but in 1969 I will be watching our astronauts land on the Moon.
I guess that's what this was all about although prior to Apollo 8 it still seemed like an impossible dream to most people
1:09 - 2:06

Min4.20 cute girl!
Little republican at 6:15. Lol
For the record, there were black people in England at this time. I was one of them. I don't remember ever being interviewed.
I know. It wasn't kids like me at the time that excluded you.
Did I miss where they said there weren't any blk folk around at that time?
