Thanks John! It really makes a difference! It really helped with not only the imaging but the bottom end in the ATC's which can be a little light for some people.
Best video on this topic I’ve seen! Instantly understood! Great work, only wish I could hear the result compared to where you originally had it set up!
Thanks! Thanks for watching as well! It definitely made the imaging better and tightened up the bass more than eyeballing the setup with just a tape measure. The tape, triangles and lasers are really key to nailing the setup. Also the Axial Mode Calculator is so helpful as well. Carl Tatz rocks!
This is a straightforward and scientific method, and corroborates to hifi enthusiast, audiophile hifi setup. The equilateral triangle geometry is simple, yet produces the widest and deepest soundstaging. The only other point if I may add, the toe in can be a little less, so that each speaker points to each ear, as opposed to a central point in back of the head. But there is a little wiggle room here, slightly less toe in helps to minimize interaural crosstalk, that each speaker should be "pointed" less to the opposite ear. Interaural crosstalk diminishes the stereo image, so the toe in greatly influences that.
Thanks for watching and your comment! Great thoughts! Good points to be aware of interaural crosstalk as well! I assume that is why it is so important to sit inside that triangle to minimize it as much as possible while hearing more source and less room.
I love the precision work. An older guy I worked with when I was a teenager always told me a bunch of minor gains end up being a pretty big win at the end. Is your room over a garage? I have a space that's a similar size over my garage, but I can;t figure out access to it from the house.
Wow, I really appreciate this video. I got a pair of Focal Solo6 that I am setting up. Where can I find this calculator? I am not sure if you have any experience in Focal speakers but one of the new ones I have I am having to replace for the third time with Sweetwater because it keeps powering down (not sleep mode with red light but actually turning itself off where I have to wait an hour or so to turn it on). Sweetwater does not know what the issue is yet but one speaker keeps doing this every hour or so. I hope the third one works. The other speaker does not do it.
Thanks! Follow the first Carl Tatz Link and download the axial mode calculator. Then you can plug in your dimensions and see the result. The other link is a picture diagram of the speaker spacing triangle. Also check out the other information on his site. Very helpful. Sorry to hear about your Focals.
@@ChrisJustice Thanks Chris. I really appreciate you replying to me and your video was excellent. I love all those details. Please continue to make videos where others do not address. I love it where a video goes beyond the surface of a subject. Thank you
I love this, A simple solution for an infinitely difficult problem. Thanks.
Thanks! Thank you for watching!
What a great idea...this will help me
Excellent! You da Man!
Thanks for watching! Carl Tatz is a genius! Really great method!
I've never heard of this method before, gonna have to try this! Thanks for sharing this one

This is awesome!!!!
Thanks Shawn!!
Awesome video...super helpful. Thanks for posting

Great tips! I'm going to give this a try.
Have fun! It makes a big difference having them setup properly!
Noice! well done Sir. Looking forward to the weekend to check if my set up is ligned up correct
Thanks for watching! Good Luck!!

My room is the typical bonus room over the garage in my home. Thankfully it is pretty big! Thanks for watching!

KRK has a free app to set angles.
That’s awesome! I had no idea! I will check that out. Thanks for watching and the comment!
That’s the opposite of geeky!
Thank for watching! I tried to keep it as simple and practical to explain and show as possible.
