Great explanation of this pedal! Been debating getting this pedal and I think yours is the best review I've come across. I like how you started with most of the knobs off and just a simple delay tone, then slowly brought in the crazier parts of the pedal, rather than starting off with a crazy sound like most of the reviews seem to do.

EMILY!!! You found so many of my favorite sounds in this! I'm always telling people that the Raster is like a spice rack. If you dump everything into the same dish, the results almost always gross the average person out, but if you can resist the tantalizing urge to crank everything, there are so many subtle combinations to discover that behave like nothing else. You absolutely nailed it here.

I finally filmed it! I'm the worst! It took so long but I hope it was worth the wait.
I talk about this in a completely different video, but what's cool about the Raster being able to go EXTREMELY too far is that it kinda gives it runway. But I LOVE the spice rack analogy-you have to spend a little time finding the flavors that go well together, and sometimes you'll try something new and have a great surprise!

So many of these sounds have a retro-futuristic personality. Like, “space” versions of classic tones. Your playing definitely enhances this effect as well. I love it. Been wanting a Red Panda pedal for ages.

Totally! I think it was a different take (I tried filming this four times before I got something usable for mostly camera-related reasons) I talked about how it sounded like a modern take on retro sci-fi sounds!

That's the best cheat pedal I've seen. On the pitch shift, I just would have to make my hands look like they were playing and it steps up. I'll do anything to look even marginally competent. It's an interesting mix between a waveform synth, delay, and a Pitchfork. Detuned mode is great for warding off mosquitos and getting rid of clingy house guests.

Detune used subtly creates trails that float up or down, or nice stereo micro pitch shifted delay. But you have the anti-mosquito control there when needed.

What a cool pedal, was actually thinking about grabbing an Obscura but this pedal sounds like a swiss army knife for those of us looking for a bit more than the standard delay out there. The fact that there is a Phase section is a massive bonus for me. Awesome playing and love the new Music Master too 🤩

I used to have a Red Panda Granular Delay and I loved it but I felt like 80% of the settings were unusable for me but I love having all those quirky and unusual sounds even if I was never going to use them. For sure Red Panda makes pedals you'll space out for hours playing.

Fair point, the Particle is a very deep pedal and different musicians have found entirely unique ways to use it (so maybe everyone has their own 20%). With the latest firmware update (Nov. 2022), we tried to make it more approachable by adding pitch quantization options and downloadable presets that you can use as starting points. We like to think that the 80% you find unusable now may be interesting areas to explore in future years.

Don't feel bad I've had this pedal for about six months now and I'm still scared of it and still can't get it to do what I want it to do every time I don't think I'll ever fully understand it but I hear so many great things coming out of it from people who seem to know what there doing.i have the same problem with the tensor but it's still not gonna stop me from getting there ring modulater when it comes out or eventually getting a particle
