Something that's really heartwarming to think about, is that the actors literally went through the same journey as their characters at Cloud9. The show was about working in an industry that's slowly dying, while at the same time, the actors were working on network sitcom, long after cable struggled with relevancy. Both the actors and characters went to work every day in an industry they knew had seen its day, and still took it in stride to create something really beautiful, in its own way
A lot of shows don't know how to end things but this was the perfect ending to very good and very very very underrated show, rarely had a boring episode.
@@EarlOfLemongrabb He maybe right though, this show didn't get as much recognition as other popular shows.. so it's really underrated compared to other big time tv series
From age 18 to 25 I worked at Walmart until I decided to go to nursing school. Related so much to this show as some of the scenarios with customers were so spot on. Same goes for the co workers. For 7 years we all had such a fun time together. After work drinks. My 21st birthday where I’m still shocked I didn’t get alcohol poisoning. Countless parties where we’d be up till 4AM and have to be back at work at 7. The job mostly sucked but the fun times were worth it and I miss that sometimes.
I worked in retail for 15 odd years and I love this show. And I completely concur with what you say about relating to the characters and experiences. There’s nothing quite like retail except for maybe hospitality for the camaraderie and developing the soft skills like compassion and empathy and understanding and building connections with others in a short time. So valuable and chronically underpaid for the work involved.
Just finished this show last night. Such a fulfilling and earned ending for the cast. Glenn brings back his family business and hiring Mateo and Cheyanne. Amy is thriving as an executive and Jonah is finding his calling as a politician, and they’re happily married! Dina gets to lead the fulfillment center, and Sandra really came into her own as an AM. But one of the best parts is Garrett: we don’t see what he’s up to after the store closed, but I think his monologue at the end really cemented his growth. He lets down his walls and speaks truly about his experiences and what his time at Cloud 9 means.
am i weird that i want to reincarnate into this universe and take care of my dear boy Marcus?! and sometimes remind of Sandra of how people treated her?!!! 😂 hahaha idk maybe tonight ❤😂
Amy thriving as an executive is really great to see, especially if you think about how happy she was when she got the store manager position and heard about the perks 😂😂😂
Hi, I’m just now seeing your comment 8 months later. My heart goes out to you- while I didn’t lose my parents the way you did, I went thru a period of depression during quarantine lockdown (long story but I got diagnosed with a rare incurable disease that causes a lot of pain, and bc of Covid, had to go thru it without family or support or any other human contact.) Superstore was also the only show I was able to watch (and watching it was the only thing I was capable of doing) for several months. I didn’t leave this one room for so many months… days and nights blended together. This show was the only thing tethering me to reality. Just wanted to say to you- there’s another human being on this planet who used the same show to get through a dark time. Maybe one day we were watching the same episode at the same time… maybe we were connected in that moment and didn’t even know it. I will light a candle in honor of both of your parents tonight. Be well, friend🫶🏻
Both my parents passed away 18 years ago. I can honestly say, though time doesn't necessarily make it better, it does get easier. Im so glad you were able to find a show like this to help you 😊 I watched the entire thing during lockdown and it was a blast! Stay strong my friend 💪🙏🙏
this is one of the best series finales ever. You can watch it over and over and still get goosebumps and notice little things you didnt see before. Amazing work by the directors. I especially love that starry ceiling at the end which i think is a reference to an episode where jonah put loads of glow in the dark stars on the ceiling of Cloud nine for amy. Love that they finally got together in the end
This show and New Girl their endings were so beautifully done that even though my heart hurt to see it end, the “epilogue” part just makes me smile. It was an end to one chapter and the beginnings to more of their stories. Sadly we the audience dont get to see what happens next but in real life we dont see our own endings which is okay.
YES! The same song they played when the glow star moment occured in the first episode. I love that detail i feel like thats what made the whole thing come together.
The callback to the first episode in the kids room got me man. “Moment of beauty” was something I showed my as-of-now husband in my own way before watching this and when that part came on in the first episode we cried so hard. So nice they remembered the theme of the show was “moments of beauty”.
As someone who has worked in retail all my life, you do truly discover a hidden family of sorts inside those walls while fighting the daily struggle of customers and crazy corporate expectations. I met my husband at my job, and a lot of my close friends. This ending always makes me tear up a bit.
I don’t even know how many times I’ve rewatched Superstore. I worked in retail for 15 years and it made me feel so seen. But I can’t watch the finale episode all willy-nilly because it still makes me cry so much 😅 so beautifully done and such a perfect ending to the series.
One of the best shows you"ll ever see, everything abt it was so simple and perfect , the lovestory , the humour , the friendships, no unrequired drama and also the ending. You can see yourself in these characters . Truly an underrated gem!!!
Not me crying again, this ending was so what we needed from this show. I’m gonna get a little sedimental, but in 2017 I was working retail and met a very nice older lady named Chris, she told me to watch superstore and me and her became obsessed together and always gossiped at work about it. Anyway Chris passed in 2019 due to complications with COPD. Anyway, I just hope Chris was watching the finale with me so she got to see how it ended. ❤
At first when i watched this series i was like "another cheesy tv show" but then i started watching more and more and it was so funny, cute and also romantic. The ending is 10/10 like "you waited for me 6 years" made me cry and when Mateo in real life got married and he invited all the cast was so pure :(
what i love about this series is that even though retail is a terrible job this series explains is that there are some great moments when working in retail
I finished this show last night, and already consider it to be one of the best sitcoms I’ve ever seen. A great ending too, I’m just mad I didn’t watch superstore sooner.
Best finale ever 💫💫😭💫💫 I love that how beautifully the character arcs were closed and yesss... the Parker, Carter and the glowing stickers in their room - a callback to the moment of beauty scene 😍😍😍 ❤❤❤ 😍😍😍 I always wish to have a relationship like Amy and Jonah 💫💫💫
I feel like the reason the last episode hits so close to home is the little details like the parallels to the first episode with the repeated scenes like the girl on the toilet and stuff, but also the music in the ending scene was the exact thing that played as everyone took in the stars in the first episode. Also, ending the season exactly where it started was gold, with the glow stars.
Oh my goshhh I watch this show whenever I feel down coz this show doesn't fail to make me laugh and put a smile on my face. What a bittersweet ending. ✨
I love the music used for the final montage. Even though the lyrics (Song for Zula) don't match the scene at all, using just the instrumentals was perfect.
BALLED my eyes out when this show ended :( two years since it ended seems like 10 years cause I miss it SOO MUCH :(((( superstore has such a special place in my heart!
I just finished the series today and I rewatched the ending so many times. I’ve never had any show or type of media/film make me feel the way superstore has. At the end I felt so reassured. It gave me encouragement and ideas of where I might take my life. I feel fulfilled. This show was perfect the ending was perfect. It really proves that no matter how many mistakes you make or embarrassing things you do (that are criminally morbid) you’ll end up where you’re supposed to be. Life will be better than it is. You just have to keep at it and wear cute Uggs the whole time. Thank you Justin Spitzer, thank you superstore Cast for everything you did for me.
The writing of the last episode was really nice. I can't believe how much the show evolved over time. I dunno, it felt like that last episode had a lot of love in it.

I watched the final episode last night and when he said cloud nine is closed it hit me so hard I cried I wish there was a series 7 like they can all have a reunion and meet up and shows jobs I never wanted this show to end
It always gets me, especially watching it the night it aired on NBC back in 2021 when those of use in the U.S. were all about a year into the pandemic. It made mad sad that the show was over, sentimental that they were all still hanging out together, and hopeful for the future and getting back together in large gatherings with family and friends. It was an absolute perfect ending!
You can tell the writers really know what it was like to work retail & the friends you make along the way (bonding in the trauma LOL). I worked retail for 7 years, it's been 5 since I left & I STILL hang with all my old coworkers!
One of the BEST finale ever! My fav big box shops closed around the same time I completed watching this series. This hits home ♥ Thank you for this amazing Finale 💝
Can NBC just make 1 show that doesn't end with me holding back tears. I still cry at the endings of the Good Place and Scrubs, and don't even get me started on Chuck and Community.
I loved this show soo much and it has one of the best last episodes and endings for all of its characters. (I would have liked Jeff to be included but overall it was a fantastic ending and so much better than how most shows end)

Dina and garret are together and Amy and jonah are married, and he’s running for city council, and they also have a kid together?! I literally love this show this is def one my favorites FOR SURE
Anyone else come here when they just need a bit of a cathartic cry? I actually have to pull myself together by the end of Garret's speech and the accompanying montage. It is so hard to say goodbye to these characters, and not get to see their lives unfold anymore - but getting a glimpse of all of their lives and knowing that they are happy, fulfilled and best of all: still in touch, makes the end so joyful.
I discovered only a couple of months ago. I actually really enjoyed it. It only went on for a few years. Glad they didn't do hundreds of episodes for 15 plus years. Not that it ever outstayed it's welcome!😊
This is genuinely one of the most beautiful endings of any show I have ever watched. This show manages to be funny and heartfelt at the same time and i think that is an incredible feat. I rewatch it A LOT 🥲❤️
First time i watched this show i dismissed it as a bit ridiculous... Cut to the finale and honestly its the most amazingly funny, witty emotional series ive ever seen. Jonah and Amy omg a modern day Love story. Basically, from undecided to my most favourite programme of all time. This show is absolutely sublime... Now what to watch, nothing will ever compare 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
As much as I love this show, I am happy that it ended in a high note. Better to finish in your own terms than to be dragged out
So true
such fax
Yes, and it was starting to get on the verge of being too much!
Exactly they need to stop dragging out Grey’s Anatomy and end the show already
@@DavidGarcia-ql7qg Whatever. Grey's is better than ever. That show started out bad and got better. It wasn't even good until season 10.
About 2 weeks ago the actor who played Mateo got married. Almost the whole cast was there for it. That's love.
i thought they were engaged

It is so hard to say goodbye to these characters, and not get to see their lives unfold anymore - but getting a glimpse of all of their lives and knowing that they are happy, fulfilled and best of all: still in touch, makes the end so joyful.
one of the best shows idc
Best ending to a series I’ve seen. The 6th season wasn’t great but it was good and gave us the best ending we could have asked for.
Bring this show back
I discovered only a couple of months ago.
It’s pretty fitting that Garret is the one to close the show, since he’s the one who first “opened” it. Also, I’m not crying, you’re crying
i do think about this at least once a day
My favorite show ending ever!
The ending gets me everytime! I’m gonna need to binge this show again 🥹
I love this show. ❤It has perfect end. reminds me when i used to work at shop with electronics.
