This was so real. My mother's family migrated from Bangladesh in waves, and still have the homes they left behind in their hearts. This weaves through so many stories I heard as I grew up. Beautifully potrayed by the print! Thanks you.

My forefathers also fled from their during partition, i am a Hindu, my grand mother use to tell me the scary scenario during partition the Hindu massacre, rape, loot.. I am always an Indian and proud be, Indian government took my great grandfather and others to Andaman and nicobar islands or some stayed in west Bengal and my father and mother born in andaman and i too.. My grandmaa use to tell me that they tortured us so much that even can't be described in words, she says for saving their lives she swim for a day may be i am not confirmed, and so on.... Proud to be an Indian

The famous persecutor of Buddhists was Pushyamitra Sunga, founder of the Sunga Dynasty. Several Chinese and Japanese historians mention Pushyamitra’s name at the head of the list of persecutors. Buddhist writers portray Pushyanitra as a cruel persecutor of the religion of Sakyamuni (Buddha). Pushyamitra, a militant follower of Brahminism, assassinated the last Mauryan Emperor Brhadratha, capturing the throne of Magadha and founded the Sunga Dynasty. It ruled for a period of one hundred and twelve years. Pushyamitra had to justify his position as head of the Brahmanic reaction by persecuting the Buddhists and destroying Buddhist monasteries on the one hand and restoring the sacrificial ceremonies of the Brahmanic faith on the other, for which his principal helpers were Patanjali and also perhaps Manu, the author of the Manusmriti. who was also his contemporary according to some scholars. The persecution of the Buddhists by Pushyamitra, was a logical sequence of the Brahmanic reaction and the political coup d’etat. The Buddhist text Divyavadana mentions the persecutions of Pushyamitra and his destruction of Buddhist stupas and monasteries.

There is hardly any Bengali Hindu merchants and traders. All the merchants and traders in Bengal were mostly Marwari Hindus and Bengali Muslims. This is still true to this day.

we (my great grandfather and forefathers) were Bengali Hindu zamindars in faridpur district of Bangladesh, my grandmother told me that her mother in law told her about how big and grand our haveli was. So sad to see these in this condition. I hope Bangladesh govt takes over these grand houses and converts them into govt office, district office or govt guest house etc. This will preserve them.

Similar story, except it was my grandmother's side of the family that had a zamindary in Bangladesh and my grandfather was a calcutta resident. I could never bring myself to visit the lands as it would only make me more anguished. A lost cause is a lost cause. One of my professor had been legally trying to get back their ancestral land since the 80s, he didn't even get back half of the property. For most people its generations of wealth and affluence vanishing in thin air overnight.

The recent generation like me would never understand the pain that the migration caused. I still remember the watery eyes my grandparents had whenever they spoke about their land , their home , their childhood frnds and all that they left behind ! 1881 র জনগননায় পৣথম মুসলিম সংখ্যা বেশী দেখা যায়। 1757য় ইংরেজ পলাশীর যুদ্ধে জিতলো বটে, কিন্তু তখনো হিন্দুদের পাৣয় সরবানগীন পাৣধান্য ছিল।তখনো পরযনত হিন্দু -মুসলিম সংখ্যা ছিল পাৣয় 60:40 .সামরিকক্ষমতা ও ইসলামের আগাৣসী ভূমিকায় এবং হিন্দুপৣধানদের চূড়ান্ত নিরবুদধীতায় মুসলিমদের হাতে রাজনৈতিক ক্ষমতা থেকে গেছিল।মজা হছছে, মুসলিম শাসকদের পৣধান সহযোগী তথা পরামর্শদাতাদের অধিকাংশই ছিল হিন্দু। এবং মুসলিম শাসকদের নিচের ভাগে অধিকাংশই ছিল হিন্দু রাজা আর জমিদার। ইসলাম পৣথম থেকেই যেনতেন কৣমে পৣসারধরমী ধর্ম। উল্টোদিকে হিন্দু ধরমের "মাতববর তথা তথাকথিত উচ্চ বর্ণের পৣধানরা" অধিকাংশই ছিল বাস্তবে "অশিক্ষিত, অরধ-বর্বর -অপরিনামদরশী" নির্বোধ। এরা অবাস্তব জাতিভেদ, অতিক্ষুদৣ সারথে কথায় কথায় দুর্বলহিন্দুদের সমাজচ্যুত করে ইসলামের দিকে কৣমাগত ঠেলে দিয়ে মুসলিম সংখ্যা বৃদ্ধিতে সরাসরি সহায়তা করে আখেরে নিজেদেরি সংখ্যালঘু করে দিল। মুসলিমরা তার পূর্ণ সুযোগ নিয়ে শেষে সংখ্যাগুরুও হয়ে গেল। দুই ধর্মের সংস্কৃতির পার্থক্যর জন্য যদি কোথাও মুসলিমরাসংখ্যাগুরু থাকে, তবে সেখানে কোন সংখ্যালঘু সমপৣদায়ের লোক ই শান্তিতে বসবাস ই করতে পারবে না। অথচ সংখ্যাগুরু যদি হিন্দুরা হয়, তখন কিন্তু সেখানে মুসলিমসহ যে কোন সংখ্যালঘু সমপৣদায়ের লোক ই নিশচিনত ভাবে থাকতে পারে। এর সত্যতা সবাই জানেন। বাংলাদেশ বা পাকিস্তানে অমুসলিমদের সংখ্যা কৣমশ কমে যাচ্ছে আর বাকি যারা এখনো আছেন, তাদের অধিকাংশই কৣমাগত অত্যাচারের জন্য সুযোগ পেলেই ভারতে চলে আসছেন। আর পাকিস্তান ও বাংলাদেশের মুসলিমরাও তাই চান,কারন তাহলৈ তাদের বিষয়- আশয়, ব্যবসা-চাকরী সব লুঠকরা যাবে। । অথচ ভারতের মুসলিমরা কিন্তু কোনকৣমেই ভারত থেকে চলেযেতে চান না, কারন তারা এখানে অনক ভাল ভাবে আর নিরাপদে আছেন। এখন একথা সত্য, যে হিন্দুদের মধ্যে অতি কুৎসিত জাতিভেদ আছে, যা কোনকৣমেই মানা যায় না। এবং এও সত্য যে মুসলিমসহ অন্যান্যদের মধ্যেও অসংখ্য জাতিভেদ আছে। এদের সবার মধ্যেই নানা বিষয়ে তীব্র মতভেদ আছে।আর এও সত্য যে এদের সবার মধ্যেই আসলে ভালো মানুষের সংখ্যাই বেশী, কিন্তু তাদেরবেশিরভাগী ঝামেলায় যেতে চান না।

He claimed the ‘Dashavtar’, ten avatars of Lord Vishnu, predate the Theory of Evolution given by English naturalist Charles Darwin.
At a presentation, Mr. Rao said Lord Rama used ‘astras’ and ‘shastras’ (weapons), while Lord Vishnu sent a Sudardhan Chakra to chase targets. After hitting them they would come back. This shows that the science of guided missiles is not new to India and it was present thousands of years ago, the vice chancellor said.
Mr. Rao also said the Ramayana states that Ravana didn’t just have the Pushpak Viman, but had 24 types of aircraft of varying sizes and capacities. He also had several airports in Lanka and he used these aircraft for different purposes.
Mr. Rao said that as Darwin stated life started from water the first avatar of Lord Vishnu was also a fish (Matysa).
For the second avatar, he took shape of a tortoise (Kurma), an amphibious animal, the third avatar was a boar’s head and a human body (Varaha), the fourth was the Narsimha avatar with the head of a lion and human body. He took on the human form of Vaman in the fifth avatar.
He questioned how Gandhari, the mother of Kauravas, could give birth to a 100 children. “Everybody wonders and nobody believes, how come Gandhari gave birth to 100 children. How is it humanly possible? Can a woman give birth to 100 children in one lifetime,” he asked.
