    Who else has resubmitted rejects to CGC?

    Very interesting experiment . This is conflicting since these are now 9.8s after resubmitting, some without pressing . This is partially why I only collect pre copper age books. Once you hit the 9.4 area, grading becomes arbitrary. Modern tier is loaded with thousands of copies of 9.6s and above . It only devalues everything below a 9.8. If a book was printed after the year 2010, I really feel people should be keeping it raw and stop over flooding CGC. There is almost no element of collecting or chase at the post 2010 area of comics, however many people will spend the vast majority of their money investing in that area. It is far more exhilarating being able to secure yourself a 9.6 and above copper or bronze key. Imagine if we were all able to hunt for books, fix them up and have them submitted and returned in the same month. Grading is intended to be an unbiased middleman between you and then future owner to create a consensus on the grade. It should never be a catalyst to disparage the book that you own.

      Well said. To your point though, modern isn’t rare or particularly hard to find so I do think 9.8s will always separate themselves as it does add at least some level of rarity. I don’t think most people realize how close 9.8 and 9.6s are though which may explain some of the silly multipliers in that grade difference

    Congrats on that new mutants ! I kept receiving 9.6’s on that one it’s definitely a harder 9.8

      Yeah I have a 9.6 that I thought was perfect but can’t win them all 🤷‍♂️

    When I read the title, I thought they graded nothing in this submission. Thought it was going to be a real devastating video. Love that Cyborg Spidey! I need to get a High Republic 1 9.8 at some point. Have everything raw but need to get a slab.

      Lol, aside from being damaged after being shipped I would hope my judgement wasn’t that far off.

    Interesting post on resubmissions. I've not done it but I have just a modest amount of slabbed books but every book was submitted without a C&P, just straight out of my collection. My Tales of Suspense #97 (1st Whiplash) I thought would fall between a 6.5 and 7. It came back a 7.5 and I was thrilled. My Wolverine #1 (Regular series) came back a 9.4 and that was acceptable though I thought it was pristine. No grader notes and that was bothersome, but still a 9.4 grade.
    Now that I'm getting into dry cleaning, I can see books of mine that I will hold off on submitting until a C&P happens. I've got two ASM #50 and those I would send to a pro for a C&P. I've been on a tear for UK Pence variants as I've noticed they are quite rare on the CGC census. I have a Tales of Suspense #40 UK variant. There are only twelve on the census with nothing above a 6.0 (one 7.5 but restored) grade without restoration. I'm enjoying your channel and particularly the posts where you do C&P's as I have a lot of interest in that. Thanks for being so open and informative. I appreciate you. Best to all.

    Very insightful submission. Have you ever had what you felt was a glaring mint book that was confirmed 9.9 or 10 by a grading company?

      @hobbyhero6973  Год назад +1

      No, I’m pretty sure CGC just won’t give them out anymore. My theory is they probably have to get a second opinion on any 9.9 or 10 books and either just don’t bother or the second guy never gives it out. Exceptions being square bound and other more rigid covers

    Not the J Scott Campbell variant. It is the Campbell guy variant.

      I don’t think I have one on the wall right now. Have several in the PC just not on the wall.

    I always thought rippling got points taken off.

    • @hobbyhero6973
      @hobbyhero6973  Год назад +1

      It can. They allow for some rippling and the plastic sleeve they put it in can make it look worse after encapsulating

      That’s definitely on the short list. Feel like it’s a book everyone has owned so needed some representation
