@@Zarivan Oh trust me, that was my thought as well. I’m big on renovating structures in game, hell, in Eerie County I took an old barn and turned it into a compound. But one thing that always proved troublesome was the way it calculated interiors, so this should really help out.
@@hiddendesire3076 Yeah xD pillars can be troublesome and can upset the game's perception of indoor areas (not only the ones you build, but also the existing ones). I'm curios, in build 42, if the pillar will also be automatically removed if building a wall next to it. Anyways, I'm glad that my videos helped!
This video made me do my longest 'Yeah boi'. I love the base I've built in this wearhouse but haaaaaaate all the problems the 'outdoor' tiles bring. A thousand blessings on your crops.
Glad to know this worked even 2 years after the release of this video, but hopefully this can be fixed in future Update 42 release :D thanks for sharing!
Nice find bro just the other day someone tell me about this warehouse bug , also your video about room temperature bug help me solve some user problem too.
I love your videos. Great editing, great tips. You presented me idea which I didn't think off and now I must extend my lovely warehouse base. Cheers mate!
yeah and helps with boredom while u do indoor stuff too. but putting a genny there would be hella annoying with the constant noise, just put it on the roof
i actually noticed this myself as well. its really annoying since that warehouse is really difficult to clear out as a base since it spawns surrounded by hordes
@@Zarivan i play with respawns off as well what i meant is that when you start a new game that warehouse is always surrounded by hordes at the start. i had to kill like 400 zombies to clear it out once even with respawns off. some zombies still kept migrating close to the warehouse afterwards
So i can't plumb the sink in this base bcs the room was consider outdoor ?? i tried this tips and it doesn't work even the temp now already fix, i still can't do plumb sink..
Hmmm... I was wondering if my tips could be taken in reverse to fix that... maybe build a pillar xD somewhere in the fences of the balcony? (may need to destroy 2 fences to do that)
Any thoughts on how to get power in the extension? Not going to be a problem once I place a generator, but I would like not to spend fuel before shutoff.
I have built walls, and a door, it did not work. I entered debug mode to see if the area is "unfinished" in any way, yet it is not. It's properly roofed and fully enclosed according to iso regions yet my game still recognizes it as "outside". I tore away even the concrete walls with a sledgehammer and built other walls around it (brick walls from hydrocraft), still not working....
I have no idea :( Depending on what mods you use, they might interfere with the game. I don't know what else to suggest other than backing up your save and trying again without any mod enabled.
I encountered this problem too when I started replacing the metal floor with wooden floors. There were 2 tiles that converted into outdoors for me. I just left it alone for a bit and it fixed itself. Not sure if I really did anything to help it.
i get that theres is a lot of boxes in the warehouses in PZ but the thing i dont really get is why people like that much those locations for a base.. i mean, you could just close 6 houses on the very East of Riverside an have a lot of space and buildings to modify.. Even better, you dont have to bring fridges, a place to cook etc.. (if someone want to explain you can comment bellow)
Warehouses usually have nice loot (tools, nails, repair supplies) and also an appealing aesthetic for survival. This warehouse in particular is close to and at the same time not far from the city, is close to a small lake somewhere to the east (can go on fishing runs when low on food), big roof for water collectors, has a lot of room upstairs, and by destroying the stairs access, you are pretty much safe inside. For a starting base, this is pretty nice, until you get the skills to properly enclose other locations. I personally never used this warehouse as permanent base :D
No, it will revert to outdoors. Instead of fences you can use empty doorframes that don't have collider (you can walk through them from every direction). edit: Basically if you start the game in debug mode, click debug menu > IsoRegions and that area has to be clickable (it will also show FullyEnclosed: true)
You dont even need to do that? This bug exists almost in any building thats like this, My base is in the American Tire building east of Westpoint, and it does that for the 2nd floor areas, but if you build your area, then leave (deload the chunk), and return, it fixes itself.
How far should I go for the chunk to deload? I used teleportation option of necroforge to teleport my character to March Ridge and back and the area was still considered outdoor. :(
In Update 42, they are changing it so the game will “complete” the cell by automatically adding the pillar on the corner instead.
That's pretty cool actually!

i dont fk get why they even added the pillars in the first place.
@@musAKulture I dont disagree with the pillar, I just wish it was thicker

The voice over, the music and the editing all slot together for a chill AF vid.👍
Can't you use a generator and rain collectors in there if it's considered outdoors? It seems more useful to me that way

maybe... I never played with zombie spawns (only migrations)
It would be interesting if that zone being considered an "outdoor" would spawn zombies :O

BROTHER THIS HELPED!
a way easier fix for this is to fill in the floor, leave the chunk, reload your game, and the game now considers it indoors
it worked, thanks (After a year)
Is there a way to remove the fences later?
thousand respects, that's what i was search !
I have the oppis8te problem. Built a balcony at Twiggy's in Westpoint and part of it is still concidered inside lol

I still have a lighting issue were it still looks like its outside but really its now inside with normal inside temp!
It was like the temp bug but with lighting aswell
Yeah, same trouble. Now I'm trying to fix this

Outdoor? does it rain in there to collect water?
Good question!
Im still habbing troubles with this... all my buildings and bases cant be fixed and they all behave like outdoors... this fucking stinks bruh
if i remove the fences will still count as indoors?

Doesn't work. I've left the chunk multiple times, as my main base is there, and this space always remains as outside.
