"it's a big world out there" is one of the most humble things one can say their self. I really enjoy the way they reflect, and self-reflect on current and future experiences.
To all the people that are salty about them always talking about Punk and not Idom, in my opinion the reason is very simple. Idom is a very strong character specialist but Punks strenghts lie in him being very strong at the game in general wich is just way more impressiv.
Idom is a great player and deserved to win Capcom Cup, but there is no comparison. As they said, Punk is a genius, and is the greatest US player. He terrifies the best players in the world to the point where they spend months drilling themselves to deal with him.
Also, Idom didn't start getting popular until like 2019 correct? Punk and Smug have both been to Japan I believe or at least been in face to face competition with Japanese players. So they will them/recognize them way faster than they would Idom who they haven't had a chance to meet. I remember Smug going to Japan when he got famous for his Dudley. He was destroying everyone. It took a First to Ten for Daigo/Japan to figure him out. But he earned all of their respects by doing that. I truly believe they invited him out there just to spar/learn. I have yet to hear about Idom doing any of that only because of covid.

Even so, being known as one of the most innovative players, such that it amazes all the pros, must be incredibly gratifying on its own. He is literally being acknowledged for uncovering the hidden tech that enriches the game as a whole; a fighting-game-scientist that provides further tools and depth to the game. Fantastic.

Punk is all improvisation and when hes like that he's deadly , and will create some shit to kick your ass with His reaction time and reads are perfect . BUT i will say he suffers from grand finals burnout . Either he just gets caught up in a bad match up and doesnt want to switch because he feels hes good enough to win , and he is . But that pride lost a couple of Poison matches where Karin had no buisness being there .OR he'll just be on auto pilot .
I imagine great reaction speed would greatly limit the options so the opponent will be forced to adapt to a playstyle that they're uncomfortable with. Making adapting much more difficult

Whiff punishing is all about reactions. If you ever play an experienced player with around 160ms reactions it will be like playing an entirely new game.

That aside, whiff punishes can be read based as well as reaction based. That’s what counterpokes and baits refer to. He's an amazing player, but videos like these need to quit posting outright inaccurate statements saying someone is unbeatable, when he's obviously lost plenty of times. Losing is just the nature of being an FGC competitor. Punk is NOT unbeatable.
