I like how when Jinbei fought alongside with Strawhats on Fishman Island, he's like an OP character on RPG game that joins you on the tutorial but leaves you after finishing the tutorial because he's too OP to be recruited early. Then those characters would later rejoin you on late game as a permanent party member where your whole party is already strong enough on par on that OP character you barely need his help anymore.
It's the same with yamato. It's a decent way to prevent power creep in the story and forcing the writer to come up with bigger and more over the top threats to keep up with the crew.

Coating your entire body in Armament Haki can take a lot out of you. Using that much Haki for offense and defense is very taxing. Take Luffy for example. When he uses Gear 4th, whether it's Bounce Man or Snake Man, he coats his body in Armament Haki. After the time limit is up, he will be exhausted. So exhausted, that Luffy won't be able to move for 3 or 4 days. So unless you have a very strong will and life force, you'll burn on in no time.

His Demon wasn't about Strength, it was his resentment, anger and fear towards humans and the World Government. Hate which would destroy his true self if it ever surfaces. But because of his Trauma would always be lurking in his Soul. Jimbei was just Angry, he also has this Demon in his heart, but he is actively trying to fight it. If he ever shows his Demon, he would lose that battle and ultimately lose himself.

Jinbei is a fantastic member of the crew, and I love whenever we get to see him, but something about hearing someone call out Shave and Tekkai again put a smile on my face. Didn't realize how much I missed those techniques.
I miss the six powers and I think at least Luffy should master all the Six Powers. Having the Sky Walk one would’ve helped greatly against Kaido as he wouldn’t have fallen off the edge. This could also let him dodge and move midair without having to use Gear 4. Iron Body could stack with his Armament and Conqueror’s Haki making him even more resilient to any blows. Luffy has shown great durability and if I remember correctly that Iron Body depends on the users own strength or durability, then it could prove to be really effective. Finger Pistol and Tempest Kick could pair with his rubber abilities extremely well as he can greatly increase his reach making those attacks harder to dodge. Imagine him using Gum Gum Whip and Tempest Kick which makes a really long Tempest Kick. Also imagine him using Gear Three and then using a Tempest Kick with his giant leg. Paper Art is just there I guess and it’s basically what he used against Enel but instinctively and then there’s the Shave which he can already use I think. Even if it’s not his style to use them, it’s better than not having them.

I think sanji should learn rankyaku ( tempest kick ) , tekkai ( with his exoskeleton and armement haki it would be monstrous ) and a foot based shigan ( French savate kicks are basically like this ) . Luffy should technically learn some variant of all of them since he is a complete fighter I think .

Yes, I found it especially odd how serious Jimbei got as soon as Who's Who talked about Nika (okay, aside from the fact that Who's Who was really provoking him with the fishmen and slave talk). I don't read the manga, so I don't know what's going on. But Jimbei acting this way clearly implies that he knows something, and that knowledge is so important that he had to get rid of Who's Who as quick as possible.

Jinbe is that character in an RPG that temporarily joins your party who's OP and carries you through an area you're normally too weak to handle, but then permanently joins towards the endgame when you're as strong as he is; and you keep him in rotation because it turns out he's still actually hella strong.
It never occurred to me until now that this fight is actually a battle between the 2 most well known Martial Arts in One Piece and Jinbei basically having his turn fighting a CP9 agent if he was in the Water 7 arc.
Jimbei entire fight he didn't even moved his feet. Now that is impressive. But jimbei at marineford is already nerfed because this was a jimbei who is already locked in prison for a while and his powers possibly 30% to 40% of original.
When I saw Jinbei go fullbody haki, and then tank those hits, it reminded me of when Kenshiro fought Jagi in Hokuto no Ken. I'll paraphrase, but that particular line that goes: "Anger can turn the body into steel armor" really shines through in this moment. And I love the homage to Fisher Tiger here as well.
I always was amazed how Jinbei can move so effortlessly whilst fighting and definitely makes me wonder how much stronger jinbei is when he does go full on out. So excited!

Manga Spoilers Luffy is casually playing around with Lucci as of 1070. I think people are overestimating awakenings. Lucci is definitely magnitudes stronger than he used to be, but people immediately started comparing him to Kaido. Honestly I think a gear 4 Luffy would probably take him out mid-diff as his awakening wouldn’t be interfering with his mind and making him want to play with his opponent.

I love how Oda has clearly studied and incorporated aspects of real world piracy into his story. Slavery being a big part of the Caribbean pirate era centuries ago. Many slaves, primarily from places in Africa, were being exported to colonies in the Caribbean for slave labour on plantations. The character of "Joyboy" also being a real world myth of quite possibly West Africans brought to the Caribbean. The World Nobles see any being below them as basically toys or slaves. Be it fishmen or a lowly human or even the king of an entire country, they see everyone as trash and make everyone their slaves and playthings. Fisher Tiger was a fishman and the original captain of the Sun Pirates, and Jinbe's first original captain. Early in life Fisher was made a slave to the World Nobles, and escaped slavery. He was the one who set free Boa Hancock and her sisters. The Sun Pirates worked to free slaves, and most of their crew were fishmen who were former slaves. Their sigil is a symbol of the sun, which hid the branding the World Nobles put on their slaves. Who's-Who is resentful of the Strawhats, because his life was ruined when the "Gomu Gomu no Mi" was stolen from him by Shanks. He equated the fishman race's history with one of slavery. He's going after Jinbe here because the Sun Pirates were very likely named after the Sun God Nika, who was a mythological liberator of slaves.
Jinbei has never truly lost a fight, the closest he came was having a draw with Ace after 5 days straight of fighting. He is Him in this verse whenever he fights. 😊

The most craziest and satisfying things about Jimbe beyond his obvious phenomenal character is the fact the we have yet to see him go all out and pushed to his limits even once considering we've already entered into the final saga
Reminds me of an old proverb; "There are three things wise men fear: a night with no moon, the sea in a storm, and tbe wrath of a gentle man." While I wouldn't necessarily call Jimbei gentle, he is certainly levelheaded. Who's-who crossed a line. Jimbei taught him why he was wrong.
With him joining, the monster trio became quadro. But in this fight, Jinbie doesn't feel like he even sweated, it's like he was just using 20% of his power or even less.
His Haki got stronger as the battle progressed due to his righteous anger increasing his willpower Haki is willpower which explains why Luffy powers up quickly His willpower is the best in the series and stronger opponents means your Haki will grow at a faster rate
normal haki yes armament and observation, conqueror haki on the other hand have nothing to do with willpower, you either born with it or not, you cant increase your willpower and suddenly obtained conqueror's haki, its basically a gambling power system

JInbei is my second favorite OP character, first being Zoro. Zoro and Jinbei have a lot of similarities between them such as not backing down from a fight and being able to back up what they say. Jinbei is much older than the other members (with the exception of Brook of course) and has a lot more experience. I almost put him saving Luffy from Akainu on par with what Zoro did with Kuma during the Thriller Bark arc. JInbei is still a badass and should never be taken lightly!
Glad they gave this a little bit of attention since it never really was shown in the manga. Its better than the kiku vs kanjuro filler fight that was a slog.
Hm. Jimbei didn’t really react much to the Sun God Nika being brought up, which I didn’t think much of, but it is a bit interesting that the Symbol of the Fishman Pirate Crew that broke into Mariejois to free slaves is a sun. That’s a very interesting little detail there.
That Fang Pistol attack is rather neat for a Zoan Makes me wonder if the other Zoan types have something similar to that without the work of SMILE and I don't mean like that 🐺Zoan type one making a vortex with the scratching powers of his paws 🐾

Jinbei is a fantastic member of the crew, and I love whenever we get to see him, but something about hearing someone call out Shave and Tekkai again put a smile on my face. Didn't realize how much I missed those techniques.
I miss the six powers and I think at least Luffy should master all the Six Powers.
Having the Sky Walk one would’ve helped greatly against Kaido as he wouldn’t have fallen off the edge. This could also let him dodge and move midair without having to use Gear 4.
Iron Body could stack with his Armament and Conqueror’s Haki making him even more resilient to any blows. Luffy has shown great durability and if I remember correctly that Iron Body depends on the users own strength or durability, then it could prove to be really effective.
Finger Pistol and Tempest Kick could pair with his rubber abilities extremely well as he can greatly increase his reach making those attacks harder to dodge. Imagine him using Gum Gum Whip and Tempest Kick which makes a really long Tempest Kick. Also imagine him using Gear Three and then using a Tempest Kick with his giant leg.
Paper Art is just there I guess and it’s basically what he used against Enel but instinctively and then there’s the Shave which he can already use I think.
Even if it’s not his style to use them, it’s better than not having them.

Luffy could use soru in gear 2 and geppou in gear 4 .
I think sanji should learn rankyaku ( tempest kick ) , tekkai ( with his exoskeleton and armement haki it would be monstrous ) and a foot based shigan ( French savate kicks are basically like this ) .
Luffy should technically learn some variant of all of them since he is a complete fighter I think .

Yes, I found it especially odd how serious Jimbei got as soon as Who's Who talked about Nika (okay, aside from the fact that Who's Who was really provoking him with the fishmen and slave talk). I don't read the manga, so I don't know what's going on. But Jimbei acting this way clearly implies that he knows something, and that knowledge is so important that he had to get rid of Who's Who as quick as possible.

It never occurred to me until now that this fight is actually a battle between the 2 most well known Martial Arts in One Piece and Jinbei basically having his turn fighting a CP9 agent if he was in the Water 7 arc.
Jimbei entire fight he didn't even moved his feet. Now that is impressive.
But jimbei at marineford is already nerfed because this was a jimbei who is already locked in prison for a while and his powers possibly 30% to 40% of original.
he's easily the most efficient fighter in one piece.
When I saw Jinbei go fullbody haki, and then tank those hits, it reminded me of when Kenshiro fought Jagi in Hokuto no Ken. I'll paraphrase, but that particular line that goes: "Anger can turn the body into steel armor" really shines through in this moment. And I love the homage to Fisher Tiger here as well.

Luffy is casually playing around with Lucci as of 1070. I think people are overestimating awakenings. Lucci is definitely magnitudes stronger than he used to be, but people immediately started comparing him to Kaido. Honestly I think a gear 4 Luffy would probably take him out mid-diff as his awakening wouldn’t be interfering with his mind and making him want to play with his opponent.

I love how Oda has clearly studied and incorporated aspects of real world piracy into his story. Slavery being a big part of the Caribbean pirate era centuries ago. Many slaves, primarily from places in Africa, were being exported to colonies in the Caribbean for slave labour on plantations. The character of "Joyboy" also being a real world myth of quite possibly West Africans brought to the Caribbean.
The World Nobles see any being below them as basically toys or slaves. Be it fishmen or a lowly human or even the king of an entire country, they see everyone as trash and make everyone their slaves and playthings. Fisher Tiger was a fishman and the original captain of the Sun Pirates, and Jinbe's first original captain. Early in life Fisher was made a slave to the World Nobles, and escaped slavery. He was the one who set free Boa Hancock and her sisters.
The Sun Pirates worked to free slaves, and most of their crew were fishmen who were former slaves. Their sigil is a symbol of the sun, which hid the branding the World Nobles put on their slaves. Who's-Who is resentful of the Strawhats, because his life was ruined when the "Gomu Gomu no Mi" was stolen from him by Shanks. He equated the fishman race's history with one of slavery. He's going after Jinbe here because the Sun Pirates were very likely named after the Sun God Nika, who was a mythological liberator of slaves.
People should not be suprised at Jinbei's strength, he is a former Warlord of the Sea for a reason.
Jinbei has never truly lost a fight, the closest he came was having a draw with Ace after 5 days straight of fighting. He is Him in this verse whenever he fights. 😊

His Haki got stronger as the battle progressed due to his righteous anger increasing his willpower
Haki is willpower which explains why Luffy powers up quickly
His willpower is the best in the series and stronger opponents means your Haki will grow at a faster rate
His haki went from "can't fully block Who's Who's attacks" to "damages who's who when he tries to hit him"
normal haki yes armament and observation, conqueror haki on the other hand have nothing to do with willpower, you either born with it or not, you cant increase your willpower and suddenly obtained conqueror's haki, its basically a gambling power system

JInbei is my second favorite OP character, first being Zoro. Zoro and Jinbei have a lot of similarities between them such as not backing down from a fight and being able to back up what they say. Jinbei is much older than the other members (with the exception of Brook of course) and has a lot more experience. I almost put him saving Luffy from Akainu on par with what Zoro did with Kuma during the Thriller Bark arc. JInbei is still a badass and should never be taken lightly!

1. Who’s who said his fang pistol can’t be blocked with armament haki at jinbei lvl, this is true.
2. Jinbei shark grip is not like KAT’s block mochi as kat’s block mochi is a gear 4th Kong gun replica since he uses mochi to stuff up and reinforce his fist just Luffy sucks in his fist like a spring.
3. Jinbei shark grip is a Ryou attack… look closely at the invisible barrier surrounding jinbei’s body then look at Luffy in udon.
4. Ryou is only way for attacks to not touch. Acoc is just an amplifier as we see Zoro Kaido and shanks all make contact when using acoc.
5. Why did big mom acoc not touch page 1? She has Ryou🤷🏽♂️ fairly cuz KAT covers the observation department.
