      I'm gonna hard disagree here. If you can't learn a basic skill after literal decades of training, you don't have the makings of a professional athlete. I have coached boxing. Throwing your head back like that can easily be trained out of someone with enough specific focus and intense sparring where perfect form is a must. When he's sparring in the gym he's being allowed to do that defensively. There's no excuse for literal zero boxing skill. It is the simplest martial art out of all the major ones required for mma. He's clearly not doing separate boxing training and isn't working on defense. It's mind blowing a professional fighter can't move his head when I know for a fact an out of shape middle aged man can learn that skillset in about six months max if they're actually putting in the work. The under pressure argument doesn't work because hard sparring mimics the intensity of a real fight and he should be training those bad habits away during those sessions in the gym.

    • @joeschmoe6908
      @joeschmoe6908 8 месяцев назад +4

      @@donnypotsmoker not saying it's actually impossible, and obviously he's not training right. The point is he's probably trained it WRONG for thousands of hours, and the time it would take to correct it now that it's completely ingrained might not be worth it at his age. Overall he doesn't have a history of getting brutally ko'd, and his striking is never gonna be good enough to actually win him fights.

      I still don't think there was a clear winner in that fight.
      Erceg won the rounds that he caused immediate damage in. So did Strickland. Erceg caused more obvious immediate damage in two separate rounds that he should win from. Strickland caused it in round one. Swelling up both eyes of Dricus, then didn't add much other than jabs to the same already damaged area. He doesn't get points in round 3 for eye swelling that he caused in round one.
      Strickland could've been given that fight on another night though and I've always said that. Very close.

I died laughing. Control time has nothing to do with top or bottom it is who is “CONTROLLING” the position, hence the name. Call me a casual but I wrestled (competitively) and boxed (mostly for wrestling cardio’s in off season) from the time I was in diapers through college and I saw an easy 1/3/5 for Pantoja very clear I don’t see any argument to that. Maybe round 3 could be a little bit of argument but round 5 was not close at all, 100 of 100 judges score that round for Pantoja.
