The actual code is in CvReligionClasses.cpp. There is a base chance that the prophet will spawn (5%). For every point of faith generated over the cost, you increase the chance by 1%. If you have other questions, please feel free to ping.
Production religion isn't as good for liberty is it, as your production is so diffused? You are less likely to get the full 15% per city, and your cities have less base production to multiply? Whereas 2 more happiness can potentially be more base production?
I don't know how often you check comments here, but why did you settle that sixth city when if you delayed it maybe 15 turns you could have NC on 5 cities?
When you reference an older game please give me a time stamp so I can easily figure out what you're asking about. As far as I can tell this segment ends with 5 cities only...
FilthyRobot My bad. I think I was just talking about you were planning on settling that sixth city up on the coast near the horses before you got your NC out. I was just kind of curious on why not wait until the NC is up before you settle that. You settle the city I was referring to a few minutes in in Songhai part 3. But after watching the next couple videos it seemed you didn't really delay your NC nearly at all because of the tech path you chose and I understand why you chose the tech path you did, and also because you built Machu Pichu (you started NC shortly after) and I understand why that was very important.

Is it 5% per turn or just 5%. So, if the 2nd turn after I have a chance I have 155 faith, do I have 5%+21% or do I have 10%+21% ?
Just 5%. So 2nd turn is 5%+21%
FilthyRobot To be clear, the chance of generating a great prophet is always 5% + (total faith - faith needed for prophet)%

Awesome, thanks for clarifying!
It sounds like the friendly barbarians were causing yoruus lots of headaches, I would have sent them cupcakes rather than bathing in their blood.
